Review summary

Fun... But probably would prefer all inclusive in Mexico... Lots of extra costs... But very fun experience. Would be easier if traveling with people of the same age groups... Hard to keep kids, teens, young adults, and elderly adults all happy and relatively together.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Easy... Easier than loading your family on a plane... I think maybe 30 minutes from arrival we were on the ship. Then we drank wine and ate food until our room was ready. Did take a while for luggage to arrive but did not affect us at all.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Good but not amazing. Hit the spot but rarely wowed.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
I had fun in all that we participated in. The kids club for our 9 and 11 yo were hit and miss. Our 15 yo was entertained in the teen club for the entire cruise. Pool table costs extra. Arcade costs extra and is mostly claw games. Have to either give your kids access to your credit card or load money on their onboard accounts or they can't play.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Very fun. Obviously not to the caliber of Vegas or like Broadway but entertaining and definitely worth attending.

Children's Programs

4 out of 5
Hit and miss. Not available consistently. Like would close for 2 hours here or there... Costs extra after 10 pm for the 2-11 yo kids. Would be nice if our 9 and 11yo had more access to the computers and video games. These were rarely available but would have entertained our kids when they needed down time.

Service and Staff

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Impressively comfortable to fit 4 into our room.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Very functional and everything worked. Almost better than a bigger hotel room.

Ship tip

Bring nausea medicine for when you are on the open sea. Wear layers because at times the inside of the ship is hot and the outside is cold. Used the carnival hub app to communicate. It was spotty at best but still way better than having no way to communicate. - $5/per person per cruise

So hard to keep varying age groups entertained together anywhere. Let everyone do their thing and share stories and adventures at the MDR in the evening.
