Wonderful Times on the Horizon by radioactiveduck

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Horizon

This has by far been my favorite cruise ship. It was so well organized and everything ran so smoothly. There were plenty of places to get quiet glimpses of the view. There was so much stuff to do. The food was phenomenal. My only complaint is that it was over too soon.

Fun family cruise by elliot520

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Horizon

Overall, it was a good cruise. A bit long for the little one. Waterslides were fun, ropes course was cool. MDR was good as well. We did a specialty restaurant one night, the hibachi dinner. Was delicious and the guy was hilarrrrrrious. We did the dr seuss breakfast....the idea is cute but i dont really recommend it because everything is dyed different colors and my kids as well as many others that i saw wouldn't eat the food because it was red or green, etc lol.

Great trip by crdnfdd

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Horizon

Elevator system needs to be better- I understand the why but it doesn’t work great. I would suggest if you keep this you enter the floor number then option for how many in your party, not enter 5 different times (in addition something for notification of scooters). We also missed the coke machines stationed around the ship- like Mardi Gras when we went on it.

Wonderful time for our first cruise, but there's a few things that should be changed for better and safer sailing. by jacquelynherig

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Horizon

We had a wonderful 1st cruise. Please invest in safety rails that can be popped on to the head/foot of the bunks. Our daughter fell out in the night and got really hurt. We tried to get Ice for her bumps and bruises and a milk to calm her down, but family harbor didn't have any. The ice machine wasn't working and there were no milks. We asked for an extra safety rail and were told there are none. Something so small could have went a long way. Family Harbor should have those little milk containers available after hours for those with small children who need it for bedtime. Georgia was a wonderful interactive cruise director who made the vacation that more special. We LOVE the Family Harbor and will definitely book this deck again. It's a wonderful addition that caters to larger families like mine. We actually have 5 children and only brought 3. The ship was clean and roomy and everything moved pretty quickly. We enjoyed the Carnival experience and will book again.

Such a great trip! by rywhite1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends

We had the most enjoyable time. So many fun things to do is we wanted to participate, but also plenty of time for relaxation in the sun. The Horizon is an awesome ship. I have sailed her twice, and would definitely do it again.

Great Family and Friends Trip by JBCruzinAway

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Horizon

Group: 3 of us (me, hubby, 7 yr old daughter), friends: (Friend, friends mom, friends daughter, age 14) plus a couple w 2 daughters 15 and 8 We stayed on the Lido deck (10) w a balcony We had the drink package for us, daughter had included drinks Overall Rating 7 of 10. Ship size and layout- we just went on RC Harmony last year and honestly because of this, it doesn't quite compare. Food- we personally never did the MDR, so I can't honestly speak to that. We ate mostly at buffet just because it was easier due to time and the fact my daughter is beyond picky, and we were pretty casual and sporadic. The buffet honestly wasn't bad. Some of the food was meh, but I always seemed to find at least a couple items to fill up on. The mashed potatoes were amazing, roast beef was great, seafood pasta, and prime rib. Otherwise there was a deli with great sandwiches and fries. Guys burgers and fries were amazing- love the chipotle mayo. The Blue Iguana had great breakfast burritos. The salsa bar- they should have had chips. Room service- lacking, but we did order coffee and cream. Candy store- expensive. Popcorn- great, but drop the extra fees as I think they can get away with free popcorn. Drinks- the kids that had a soda pkg, they really need to take RC idea of the cups and machines. Carnival makes guests get it at the bars/ restaurants. The alchohol pkg- we never got that close to 15. The drinks weren't watered down (I felt like RC last year were), and we found a couple great bartenders- shout out to Daniel at the back bar and Wayan who switched locations. Tip them some cash or at least on some daily drinks- they'll take care of you. (I realize we also pay included gratuity). Also BBC's are my absolute favorite drink. They did run out of certain beer types quite quickly w over a few days left. Entertainment- we didn't attend any shows or specific bars. I wish we did. All I can say is I wish they were altogether and not all separated. RC had them all in a row and like you'd find on a "block" at home. Carnivals seemed more compartmentalized and separated a bit. We don't most time at the back bar w our kids swimming while we chatted/ drank. Waterslides were great for the kids too. Loved the hidden ducks from all the friendly guests. Internet- the included one is a joke. I never could stay logged in. Therefore the $5 per person chat never worked. The app also was not that great. I always felt like I never knew what was going on. I didn't like it always took me to an outside browser too. RC blew that part away over Carnival. Balcony- a must for me. A couple complaints though- doors on outside were noisy. You can hear every door open/ close. Also, only certain ones open next to each other. My friend and I couldn't open ours up, like we did on RC. Aruba- rented a Jeep- loved it. Had a blueberry mojito at the glass blown art store/ restaurant. Met a local named Patricia and it was so fun. We also visited the ostrich farm (highly recommend), natural bridge, gold mine, and a local restaurant Zeerover for fried fish and shrimp. Curaçao - so pretty! They have "The Best Mojito in the World Bar" and it's a must. I recommend peach. We shopped then went to Mambo beach. The resort area was so nice. They have shops and bars and a great swim area w cabanas. La Ramano - we just went shopping a little- my least favorite stop, but we didn't go to the pool at the port. It was hot, busy, and loud. Amber Cove- Monkeyland is an absolute must. My daughter and I loved it. We did a tour too, which was good, but the monkeys made our day. The people seem to drive pretty crazy though. Those scooters are everywhere. We had a lot of motion- I mean a lot!!!! Our safe door kept hitting the door. Luckily, we did not get sick. Laundry- dryers suck- they need to clean the vents more. They did that on the 2nd to last day. Housekeeping- great!!!! My daughter loved her towel animals daily. Rooms were tidy. Beds fine for us. Overall- honestly we had a fabulous time. There were a few things that could be improved upon which I notated. If you made it this far- hope something was helpful! I'd have to say I personally prefer RC a bit better, but our trip was still great!!!! I do also believe it is what you make of it to many degrees. I wish we did some more adult fun entertainment stuff, but my daughter didn't find the kids club that great, unfortunately. That could just be her, though.

Another Wonderful, Relaxing Experience! by Amazon0622

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Horizon

Overall, another spectacular cruise. Although it was 8 days, I still wasn’t ready to get off and face reality. I hated to leave. Cruise director, Georgia made everything fun and hearing her Aussie accent, energy and professionalism. The seas were very calm for the majority of the cruise. The ship is impressive internally and staff incredibly polite, hospitable and professional. There is a reason why we only sail Carnival……they know how to have fun! Keep up the GREAT work!

3 generation mother/daughter trip by lizlovesoils

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Horizon

Overall, I was on vacation, so had a fun time. I would like to see the app be more user friendly, as it kicked us out constantly and provided no availability for me to stay in contact with our group. Disembarkation was awful.
