Stick with Royal Caribbean by JenniferV1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

My husband and I previously did a royal caribbean cruise and loved it. WE decided to take our son this time and went on carnival. While carnival has alot for kids i would not go on one again. When we were on Royal Caribbean the food was way better. Every night in the casual eating area they had a different theme such as italian or mexican and the food was really good. Breakfast and lunch was also way better in the casual dining area. There were never huge cafeteria lines like there were on carnival. The way royal caribbean has the food set up is in big circles or squares that you don't have to get in a line to get the food. Now the dining room did have very good food, no complaints about that. Then there was the disembarkation. Those who got their luggage ready the night before and had it outside there cabin were basically punished and the last to leave the ship. it wouldn't have been that bad if they didn't make us leave our state room to go wait for three hours on an upper deck. When we went on royal caribbean it was nothging like this. we got off very quickly. A friend once told me that carnival is like kmart and royal carribean like macy's. now i know why.

rooms needed refurbishng by SherryS2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

The public areas were nice and inviting, the pool areas were very nice and the entertainment areas were nice but the rooms needed updating or refurbishing. Our carpet looked very dirty and stained, and the sofa looked like it was going to fall down. I thought the halls were dark and dingy.

a nice cruise by SelmaS

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

I enjoyed the cruise for the most part. the staff were friendly and helpful for the most part. the food was great and the variety was good. Loved the chocolate buffet. Loved my cabin. It was very spacious and clean. only problem was no windows, so couldn't tell when it was morning. cabin needed a clock. lots of room to lay out in the sun. liked the mini golf course. loved the big screen outside. pools were alittle on the small side and too many kids kept hanging out in the hot tubs/whirlpools.

Could have been better by CL

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We sailes on the Carnival Glory. We have been on a cruise before with another cruise line, and we were not very impressed by Carnival. The ship itself was very hard to find your way around. If you wanted to get from one end of the boat to the other you had to go up and down levels just to do it. The were doing repairs to the boat while we were loading the boat. It was a fun experience because of the excursions and the ports that we went to, but the time that we spent on the boat was just okay.

Good but not my favorite. by RebeccaJ3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Overall, the ship was nice; not the best I have seen but still nice. It was like Carnival could not decide whether to make the ship look elegant or "Vegas" and it got caught at some weird awkward fusion of the two. The crew was incredibly courteous but in many cases, the knowledge of the English language was limited, which is understandable in an international crew, but in some cases they were almost unintelligible. Also, though the food was very nice, it also, was not quite on par with other lines.

A great cruise. by ClaudiaM2

The ship was beautiful and the workers were great. We loved the big screen by the pool and it came in handy to relax the kids before bed because they showed family movies some nights. I lived the decor of the ship and the Abmber room theater was just wonderful.

An OK cruise by SusanP20

Unhappy staff, nasty food, 3 of us were sick from the food. First time I have not enjoyed any of the food on a cruise. Entertainment lousy - seemed it was all too much of an effort for them!!!

relaxing and fun by TeresaH3

confusing. The Golden Restaurant was smack in the middle and you have to go around it or through it. I may still recommend this ship if the itinerary it good but overall, I would prefer a better floor plan.

Our First Cruise by SteveM6

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This was our first cruise so we didn't know what to expect. Our stateroom was larger than expected and comfortable. Our room steward was fantastic. Our dining staff in the platnium club was very attentative and professional. We were a bit disappointed in the quality of the food not just the evening meal but in any of the restaurant. It wasn't restaurant quality meals, actually it didn't match the quality of food served al most of the hotels we've dined at. Many of the areas seemed under staffed, long lines and overworked employees sometimes seemed short. Again - this was our first cruise so we thought this was normal but while listening to others on the cruise with many crusies (some on the very same cruise) we heard similar remarks regarding short staff, long lines etc. The ship definately has some miles on her - showing wear and looked a bit dated. Overall it was a good experience, we were a little disappointed but we would certainly think about taking a cruise again.

The ship was great. The food was great. The staff was the friendlist people you could meet. It was our first cruise & we really enjoyed it. The only con I had was the music was too loud & it played until late at night & you could hear it in your room.

The ship was very neat, clean and "cheerful." The staff was friendly; however, didn't go out of their way for the passengers.

Awesome vacation! by AndreaK93978368

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The ship is a little outdated in it's interior appearance, but was very clean. Our room with a window was actually pretty large compared to other cruises we've been on. The staff were all very polite and overly helpful. The ports of call were beautiful, I would recommend doing shore excursions to really be able to see the entire island.
