Don't do it! by ZH

Sail date: / Traveled as:
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

While the ship is of average size and decor, everything from staff attitude and service to food quality and port selection needs a serious overhaul!

Carnival Glory "Disappointing" by DavidF14

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

This ship itself was just "okay". I thought it was pretty poor compared to the other 30+ cruises I have been on with various other lines. I must say I had stayed away from Carnival for 20+ years because of poor experiences back then, and I have to admit, it will be at least 20+ more years before I ever consider booking with them ever again.

bid screen with a small selection by EvaC

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

1. Parties for singles had no leader from the cruise staff, 2. Activities were uninterested and poorly prepared, 3. There was only one good show for all ,they called it the broadway show rock and roll. 4. No inside movie theatre,

excellent cruise by DebiB4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

the ship was beautiful and clean; however. there were four pools and none of them had walk in steps they were all ladders that you had to pull yourself up. I love to swim but due to military injuries I cannot pull myself up, therefore I was unable to swim. It was extremely disappointing.

For the price by CyT

The stench from the toilets when opened was overwhelming. When I complained to the steward he said it was normal. I have been on a lot of ships and never had this problem.

Terrific Time in New England and Canada by Sharon4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

We just returned from a New England/Canada cruise on the Carnival Glory. Embarkation went well, and we loved the stops on this trip. Boston is so very full of American History that we needed longer in that port. It was the shortest stay in port on the trip. Food was good and we had overall just a great time. The ship is not one of the newest, but well kept. There were less teens and children on this cruise, which we enjoyed for a nice change from the other Carnival cruises we have taken. (No, I don't hate children or teens -- just nice change.) We had an inside cabin on the Upper Deck (6). It was plenty of room for two of us and we didn't spend large amounts of time in our cabin. There is no perfect way to handle large amounts of people at times, but Carnival does a good job. Our transfers worked well. The drivers are INSANE in New York, and our transfer to the ship felt like sure death. Otherwise, the trip was just about perfect for us.

disappointed!! by JulieL8

The stateroom was more spacious which is a plus and more outside lounging area, How ever the layout was completely screwed, difficult to get from one area to another.

Crew members were very nice, however, the overall entertainment/things to do and the food was not what I have experienced in the past.

Beautiful Ports, WORST Carnival Cruise!! by SuzanS

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

The ship itself is beautiful in appearance; however, everything connected to the service, food and entertainment was terrible and extremely disappointing! The Cruise Industry has gotten so excited about the large ships, that it forgot to staff adequately for the number of passengers on-board! Staff were assigned so much work that they could not provide the level of service cruisers expect. The food on the Glory was the worse I have ever seen in 15 cruises -- sending my food back twice! I'm not a picky eater and traditionally things do not bother me a lot; however, this was by far the worse food I've seen served on a ship. In addition, the entertainment on the Glory was another large disappointment Two nights NO entertainment was offered unless you wanted to go the the comedy clubs. As a non-drinker, going to a bar is not my way of spending the evening. In addition, if you didn't want to do crafts or go to the casino or spa, there were many afternoons there was NOTHING to do. I love cruising, but I honestly don't see myself booking another Carnival cruise unless there are just no other lines sailing the ports I want to see!

Delightful cruise by FredO1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

The stateroom (and bathroom) size were larger than we've had before...very quiet and comfortable. The Carnival staff was extraordinarily friendly and devoted to service. Daily food was very good, if not exceptional. The variety of options (Mongolian grill, etc.) should please everyone. Entertainment was well-done, but the sound level was much higher than it needed to be, as was the outdoor music on deck. (Every musical experience should not be the level of a rock concert!) Smoking outdoors was really bothersome, especially in the Lido deck restaurant area. It should be limited to one part of the deck so that non-smokers could enjoy the outdoors.

Nice North Atlantic Cruise by PaulD18

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

Ship was great and cruise was very pleasant. Food was average. One area that let me down significantly was when we could not get in our taxi van due to number of people and Carnival Transfer Bus would not let us on without a transfer ticket. Even with cash, credit card, room charge card, and many empty seats on the transfer bus, we were left hanging at the cruise terminal debarkation without a way to the airport. Very rude treatment of repeat customers on many Carnival cruises. Will choice NCL instead next time.
