Sail date: October 01, 2011

Ship: Carnival Glory

Cabin type: Inside

Review summary

While the ship is of average size and decor, everything from staff attitude and service to food quality and port selection needs a serious overhaul!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
The overall food quality was poor. Food buffets were like school cafeteria slop. There was little or no change in selections the entire week! Dining room service was the worst.

Entertainment

1 out of 5
Thie first 2 days were like being at a wake. There were very limited scheduled activities. There was a very high ratio of senior citizen passengers. However, the 3 broadway style shows were very nice.

Service and Staff

1 out of 5
The staff was obviously dying to return to the Miami circuit. With few exception, the staff was detached and unfriendly, with frowns on faces and short answers.

Cabin / Stateroom

Clean. Room steward was pleasant.

Ports of call

Saint John, New Brunswick

1 out of 5
Friendly but not much to see.

Boston, Massachusetts

3 out of 5
Take the hop-on-hop-off tours. They are fun, flexible, and informative If purchased off the ship they are more affordable.

Halifax, Nova Scotia

1 out of 5
If you didn't buy a tour on board the ship your out of luck. There is not much to do or see. Your typical port city except less friendly than St. John and more expensive.

Portland, Maine

3 out of 5
Friendly port. Historical tour helped to see local interest.

Pros: A few still worthwhile staff members & a pretty good size ship

Cons: SMOKING ALLOWED INDOORS! Boring activities
