Relaxing Cruise by GeorgiannP

Sail date: /
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

First of all, we love cruising. This was our third Carnival cruise. We were impressed with the ambiance of the ship. There were special amenities like the Serenity Deck. There was lots to do. However, the food on the Lido deck, breakfast/lunch was not very inviting. Most of the time the food was cold and there wasn't any variation to the food. At the fine dining the food was good, but not exceptional. The service seemed much slower than in other cruises we have taken. Choosing the Anytime seating on this cruise was a huge mistake. It was very frustrating and after waiting in line they hand you a beeper so you can wait some more. We had Anytime seating on the last Carnival Cruise and they had a special line that went very smoothly and fast. The shows were good especially the Illutionist. It was awesome! Halifax, Nova Scotia was beautiful, lots to do and we were lucky to experience the Tall Ships. As far as St. John, New Brunswick...you could have skipped it. Absolutely very little to do. Took an excursion on the Pink Bus and saw nothing. It was a total waste of money. Debarktation was very smooth. All in all, I needed a vacation and it was great getting away.

Enjoyable cruise by Susan111

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

The ship is nice, but after cruising on the Royal Caribbean (newer ship), it's average. Also, I did not like St. John, New Brunswick at all, but Halifax, Nova Scotia is an awesome destination. Go on the tour to Peggy's Cove!!!!

Good, but Carnival has tricky rules! by KevinP1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

the food far exceeded my expectations. However, I can only recommend this cruise if you are not concerned about seeing the sights at the ports of interest. The ship arrived late to both ports and had long lines for debarkation. Also the debarkation at the final destination was confusing and caused me to miss getting the bottle of wine that was confiscated at the beginning of the cruise because it was 1/2 liter over the allowed limit.

Good, not great cruise. by EricaA28270493

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

Overall, it was a good vacation. Before this cruise, the last time I cruised with Carnival was 2001. I do feel that their quality has decreased slightly, and nickel and dime customers a little too much. Biggest example - they no longer have a cocktail hour for returning Carnival Cruisers. Instead, I got a coupon for a free drink. BUT - I could only redeem it at breakfast, brunch or lunch and ONLY in the Main Dining Room. On the last day, it took me AN HOUR to track down my free drink. VERY frustrating. What's the difference when and where I get my drink??? The lines at the Main Dining Room at dinner were ridiculous. We chose \"Anytime Dining\" which sounded like the most ideal option. NO. You had to wait on a long lime to get a buzzer, then go to the Lobby and wait for the buzzer to buzz, then get back on a shorter line to give the hostess the buzzer, and then wait in the vestibule (and be in everyone's way) until the other hostess could bring you to your table. A little crazy, and unorganized. We weren't looking for this vacation to break the bank. We had a budget in mind, and we stuck to it. Carnival is a good option for a family with kids, or a couple looking to celebrate a milestone on a budget.

A nice cruise by DoreenL

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

The ship is fine for the price of the cruise. The food was just ok, but the service was excellent. Pools are very crowded and chairs are hard to come by. Went to the steakhouse for dinner one night, food was excellent but the staff there are not very friendly. There are way too many photo stations, they make it very difficult to get to the dinning room.

Relaxing Cruise by ValJ

Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

The ship itself is beautiful. The only thing I didn't like were the \"faux\" backgrounds for the professional pictures..very cheesy! Not enough prominant \"Exit\" signs.Noticed that some were in black lettering..not the usual red.

Good way to get away for a few days by cjmandeville

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

Cruise to St John is a nice getaway. Don't expect a ton of excitement in St John. There are fun things to do and we enjoyed out time. The best things to see require you hitting the tides at the exact right times, and that's tough to do when you get 1 day there. If you are local to the port and can drive there, and you want to just get away for a few days, this is a nice way to do it.

An affordable getaway by ChrisR2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

I'll preface my review by disclaiming that we've recently travled aboard the Oasis and Alure (Royal Caribbean). Those ships are the standard of the world; the Carinval Glory is not bad at all - it's a normal cruise ship. The biggest PRO was that we could hop right on in Boston (where we live). The ship itself is a little confusing to navigate; it isn't possible to travel from one of a deck to the other. You'll need to travel up, down, across and over to another deck to get around. The staff are great, the food and entertainment are equally as enjoyable.

short but sweet by cruz4life

took my mother in-law on her first cruise it was a surprise, she didn't know until we were actually boarding the ship. after the initial hesitation she loved it and so did we. for a short cruise with kids it was a fun time and the weather was perfect the whole time. lots of activities for everyone and the cruise director and team were very good. the mexican buffet at midnight was great although the food in general was not quite as good as our other cruises. overall very good time for a decent cost

5 Night Canadian Get Away by Jk81864779

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

Overall for the money we paid I was very impressed with the ship, the ports of call, the food and entertainment. If I had any complaints they would include the lines for the buffet line, and a very smoky lido deck and casino. We loved the food, shows and ports, the ship had much to offer and the staff was friendly and helpful (when you could understand them).

We had a great time! by LoriC

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

Overall a great cruise as usual on Carnival. I am a VIFP but this is the first cruise travelling handicapped. I was afraid to travel after 6 years in a wheelchair, but the staff and crew could not have been any nicer. All except for the boarding personnel in Boston. They were not very friendly and I was almost afraid to board worried that it would get even harder, but once onboard everything was great.

Happy Cruise by RichE

We went with our 3 teen daughters. Adults liked the cruise except for dearth of dancing and the teens were generally unhappy with options available to them.
