it was a cruise, so it wasn't all bad, but of the 15 we've taken so far, this was definitely the worst ... and by a long shot.  don't get me wrong, there were bright spots, our room steward being one, but this ship functioned as though it was short-staff for the entire week.  biggest problem?  too many closures (especially food options) resulting in long lines where things were open.

carnival?  never again - no matter how inexpensive it is.

Hub vacation for his birthday! by Annie424

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We really enjoyed the cruise. The weather was great. The ship is nice and clean, it needs some updating. The workers are fabulous. What I did not get was that the Serenity section for adults was right on top of where the children were being watched. So how is it really a serenity for the adults.

Fun, Relaxing Trip by williamtspence

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

I cruised with my two best friends and we had a wonderful time. The service was exceptional, especially Arya on the Lido Deck, but so was everybody else. We loved the Private beach at Half Moon Cay and enjoyed the beaches at St Thomas and Grand Turk. We did an excursion at San Juan. The entertainment on the ship was First Class and Hugo, the Cruise Director, made the trip very enjoyable.  We were fortunate to have perfect weather. We have already recommended this cruise to other people.

Overall could have been better. by creynolds60

Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Communication was an issue since I reported before my cruise I had an allergy to down linens, this was not communicated to the ship service which left me with two days of allergy issues to get this settled. The biggest complaint I have is with the comedy club, you get there early for seating to see both shows only to be told you have to leave after the 1st one and get back in line to come in again, it didn't matter if you had a handicap or issues with standing etc. Since smokers are not allowed to smoke on balconies and restricted to certain floors the main floor where most of the attractions are, its filled with smoke most of the time (need a filtration or ventilation system). We were never introduced to our room stewart, even though we had Faster to the fun which made it a problem getting the linen issue resolved sooner. If you buy alcohol it's not given back to you until you've already packed ( if you they can find it), so you have to wait until you leave the ship pick up your luggage then repack (unless you purchased express) what a pain. We've been on several Carnival cruises but is seems the last two has gone down hill. The wait staff was great and guest service really tried to be helpful, but overall in relations to past trips it could have been a lot better.

Super Staff by jeffcarr15

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The staff of the Carnival Glory could not do enough to make you happy. Michael, our room steward, called us by name from day one. He knew we liked to have a bucket of ice all day and made sure we had it. Room service was prompt when used. Ronald and his staff did a magnificent job at our evening meal. Guest Services were very polite and helpful. The dance band schedule was the only reason for the 4 stars. There were not enough scheduled time for the dancing band  Electric City Groove. They played 2 45 miinute and 2 half hour sets per night. not enough for us. White Heat was too smokey for non-smokers.

Carnival Glory Western Caribbean by shortymom775518

Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This is my only 2nd cruise I have had the privileged to take. I thoroughly enjoyed the trip and all the crew were more than friendly making it a great memory.

There is one person in particular I want to mention...that was our head waiter at dinner. His name is Ovidiu Gabrain. Throughout all of my life experiences I have never met anyone that was more of a joy to be with than Ovidiu Gabrain. His million dollar smile was contagious along with his laughter and his sense of humor made dining a great environment to be in. I found myself always looking forward to that part of my day...I knew I would be entertained with Ovidiu and along his side was Alvin, who too only added to the happiness that was shared during our evening meal.

I told Ovidiu as I said my last farewell to him on our last evening meal together, how I would love having him to come join my family in Missouri for the holiday meals. He would add such joy and love to anyone's table and I would welcome him at any given time. In my opinion he is the best...a person of great interest and should be highly noticed. He not only works hard at his job waiting on individual's...but he has the great ability of making all who he waits on feel as if they are special and only deserves the best he can provide for them. What a great quality to have in someone working for Carnival Glory!

Believe me...laughter holds the key to happiness...Ovidiu has that and so much more! I truly feel blessed I have had the good fortune in knowing such a remarkable man.

Great cruise! Had a wonderful time! by ttsalter

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We had a balcony room, which was spacious and private.  We could sit out and watch the ocean, view the ports, etc.  Very nice and worth the extra cost.  The steward was great and very efficient.  Each morning, my husband would order room service to have his coffee delivered to the room.  The food was good.  We ate the breakfast buffet most mornings.  It was pretty much the same stuff each morning, but you did have a variety of items to pick from.  At lunch, we ate at the buffet (which was ok, nothing great about the lunch buffet) some days, but preferred to eat at Guy's Burgers...delicious...but a bit greasy.   At dinner, we had the early dining time and our wait staff was fabulous as was the food!

We attended several musical shows, some comedy shows and piano music man.  It was good entertainment.

We were overall very pleased with the cruise & can't wait to go on another one!

This was our 8th  cruise and I can say that the staff on this cruise was the best we had ever experienced.  The ship was well maintained, entertainment was good and the dinner staff were excellent.  We varied from our last cruise and went on a different line but now have returned to Carnival.  We varied as Carnival didn't go to the port we wanted.  It was a great experience.

Excellent experience by jackmike

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This is the first time we used and the experience was good. However, I later found out that a friend who booked the same cruise with Carnival got a telephone call with a free upgrade. Perhaps it is better to book with the cruise line.

Perfect!! by ladygodiva0202

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was mine and my sister's second cruise, both with Carnival, and it was perfect!  We had so much fun on the ship and while on the islands.  We took the trip as a yearly sister vacation and to celebrate my sister's birthday.   The staff was amazing and friendly and the food was good.

The steakhouse on the Glory was amazing, staff was great and the food was perfect.  We did the Valor last year and the Scarlet steakhouse was such a disappointment we almost didn't do it this year, so so glad we took the chance.  Also the restaurant made a special dessert for my sister's birthday.

We did excursions on all the islands except Belize, didn't see anything that caught our fancy.  Would absolutely recommend swimming with the stingrays in Grand Cayman, amazing!!

The only problem we had during the cruise was in Cozumel.  I won a swim with the dolphins excursion the first night on board from Carnival while attending an information show.  Swimming with the dolphins was amazing, but while snorkeling in the snorkel pool, both my sister and I had money stolen out of our wallets.  This was the only time our bags were out of ours sight, we left them with the staff member working the site.  We complained to Carnival but they said there was nothing they could do.  We lost $80.

Amazing Honeymoon/Vacation by AddysMom

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

My husband and I had the best experience aboard the Carnival Glory. It was our first cruise and we will definitely be going back again. The ship was wonderful and the crew was so amazing and friendly and really made you feel like royalty. The ports we visited were beautiful with smooth transfer on and off the ship. The cruise director and the fun squad really made everything so fun and got the whole ship interacting. I want to give a special shout out to Agus and his crew on the Platinum lower level dining room. They are all so amazing and made our dining experience fun and memorable. Carlos from the bar was also so great and knew what we wanted to drink every night. We couldnt have asked for better service. We cant wait to go back again :)

Best trip ever by tarakm9982

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The trip ran smoothly from start to finish! There were activities from the moment that you embarked to the final moment! The steward, Edwin, welcomed us in the first five minutes and anticipated every need. The staff in the dining room was superior. Jevaneh was a total professional , polite as well as knowledgable ! Shabahz made an effort to make us feel welcome as well as provide humor and class!

Carnival Glory, Sep 05, 2015, 7 Night Eastern Caribbean by mxvet61

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

I have taken this exact cruise twice now, same ship.  It was still enjoyable, though I will not purchase this cruise again.  Our stops were 1 - Half Moon Cay, 2 - St. Thomas, 3 - San Juan, 4 - Grand Turk.  St. Thomas and San Juan are very nice, Grand Turk and Half Moon Cay are very limited in their excursions and site seeing.

Fun and Relaxing despite the a little rain by lisad210

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We had a great time relaxing on the deck.  We never had an issue trying to get a deck chair.  This was great.  There were many activities to keep us busy when it was raining.

The ports were beautiful.  My main reason for only 4 stars is that we had to take tender boats at 2 ports and that was not a fun process.

Zeigler/Dennis review by czeigler81

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I was a bit Leary about taking a cruise only due to commentary I've heard from others who have taken cruises...but upon embarking and disembarking the Carnival Glory it was nothing short of GLORIOUS....the staff was very attentive to all mine and my girlfriends needs...from the room service coming on time for breakfast to the helpful staff in the Platinum Restaurant for dinner...they knew our names and even though my name couldn't fit on my sign and sail card they called me what was on it lol...I just never took the time to correct them...the room attendant made sure to provide us with fun new towel art daily...WE definitely enjoyed the cruise and anticipate our next adventure upon a carnival ship...
