Carnival cutting corners but charging more by satbt

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

No more ice buckets unless you request it, no more chocolates at night,no more past guest get together just a coupon for a free drink the last night after 5:00 PM and a free 1 ltr. bottle of water per person left in stateroom.Don't get liquor the last night to pack away in luggage, you have to pick-up the morning of disembark and carry off. New window to enter the terminal is bad if you have no control of actual arrival time at terminal. Not enough seating outside plus the heat and rain.Activities on board are the same old thing year after year.Shows are so so and stale. The list can go on and on

Was just okay by Christde

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Ship was very clean. Rooms were spacious. Food was just okay. It does not compare to Royal Caribbean. Staff was not so helpful. I was disappointed with the lack of direction when entering the ship initially. No big Bonvoyage which is strange, because that's what I remember from all my other cruises. Overall is served it purpose. It was relaxing . Not high quality by no means.

the good times by Fabel

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

cruise was good.  Coffee on ship was aweful!  Could have a show nightly.  I will never go to Belize again, people aggressive, area of ship poorly maintained and felt sick all day from deisel fumes from tender boat ride, which workers basically beg for money from passengers.

Average Cruise by jcolborn

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I would say this was OK for a first cruise but talking to many other guests they confirmed my thoughts. It was very mediocre service, difficult to get drinks ( almost worse to buy drink package as we did) Long lines for food. Every person we talked to said it was one of the worst they had been on to date.

Anniversary Trip by robbiemullinax

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Miami port is very easy to navigate and boarding was quick and simple. I highly recommend this schedule. Beautiful ports and plenty to do. This Ship Glory is a little dated but clean.  Food was great and our room steward did an excellent job.  Departing was a bit chaotic, but that was the fault of the cruise director.  He did a poor job of explaining and directing the deboarding process. I would do this cruise again!

Plain Jane Ship by eddiewlg

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This was the plainest ship I've ever been on, & this was my 6'th cruise. The cruise was fun, just like any cruise, especially with carnival, but the wait staff did not have it together, like past cruises I've been on. This was the dirtiest ship I've cruised on, & the the plainest, with many of the restrooms not functioning correctly. Even our cabin shower was leaking from the valves, & the shower drain was clogged, until we reported it to the cabin boy on the 3'rd day, and it was fixed. I requested a king bed and received 2 twins, although we made the best of it and rearranged the room ourselves and put the 2 beds together. The entertainment was not as good as past experiences. Seemed many of the clubs on board were closed and  not used during the cruise, and the activities on board were no where near as fun as past cruises. We usually take at least one cruise a year together, but next year considering doing something else for our vacation other than a cruise after this experience. WE were a little let down from this experience, as opposed form past experiences with Carnival.

Glorious Carnival Glory by bdunlap870

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Wonderful ship and eastern Caribbean itinerary.  Lots of beaches with a little shopping for fun!  All ports were particularly enjoyable, but as appealing as the port of grand Turk is, book a Hummer tour to get the true flavor and wonderful history of the island with time to spare for the beautiful beach.

Great time on the Glory by emontf3970

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We had an awesome time on the Glory.  It had been 11 years since our last cruise and we were a little skeptical about cruising but all of our worries vanished.  Great crew with excellent customer service.  Thanks to all on the Glory!

This was a great trip.  Perfect weather, perfect services, just beautiful!  I liked all the islands except Grand Turks.  That one was just okay.  Not my favorite.

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This was my boyfriend and I's first cruise ever and we picked a good one! Overall it was a great experience and I will most certainly cruise again. The Steakhouse was FANTASTIC, it was a nice change at the end of the week for us. I would definitely recommend Carnival to my friends and family.

Poor Service and Food Quality by garciairis2010

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The 7 day cruise was really a disappointment.  I had taken other cruises with other companies and it has been a very pleasant experience.

The 7 day cruise with Glory had a lot of problems.  The entertainment was cancelled several times.  There was no food quality.  The fish, potatoes and others were like months old.  The staff was disorganized and they all seem to be tired and in a bad mood.  It seems like Carnival is trying to cut corners and you can tell that the service and quality are suffering. Thank GOD for food outside the ship!!!

Had a great Time! by nwijesinha

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

When we start the curies the service was excellent.  Last day when we ready to leave we have clean our own tables NO one at the restaurants to do the service also they STOP serving food around 9:15am. Also we were asked to leave the ship before 10:30am and asked us to leave the room before 8:30am.  Even when you check in to a normal hotel we have time till noon to check out.  Also if we wish we can use the facility till 9:00pm.

Always long lines in the restaurants for eat, need to keep extra time for that.

Last few days of the cruise not enough entertainment for us.  People didn't show up as they schedule.   NOT enough activates for kids.  Most of the time they put a move to watch.  Our kids only went first day they got board.  They should do better activities and entertainments for kids, so they don't get board.  Pools are always full.

Not as good as Norwegian or Princess by TraciY

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was our first Carnival Cruise.  We have done multiple Caribbean cruises on Norwegian and Princess.  Carnival (at least this Glory ship) was a step below.  The quality of the food was about the same, though the desserts were boring.  Dining Room service was spotty and often slow.  I attribute this to under-staffing, as most servers appeared to be working hard.  The pools were the smallest that I've ever seen on a cruise ship, but there were plenty of chairs for lounging.  The cabins were clean and well-maintained. However, the room walls were thin and we heard our neighbors on several occasions.  The entire 5th deck smelled like smoke, thanks to the casino and poor ventilation. The sit-down Dining Room was not open for lunch.  The Dining Room and Buffet dress codes were not enforced.  Either enforce dress codes or don't have them!.  Like all ships, most areas were over air-conditioned (i.e. too cold).  The kids' clubs were good, according to my teenage girls, but one crew member would not give my daughter a t-shirt the last night because my 12-year old had a curfew and couldn't stay until midnight (the nerve of me requiring a bedtime before midnight!). Entertainment options were fewer than other ships and not very good quality.  Some comedy shows were canceled.  There were other little things like no strawberries at the chocolate fountain.

In summary, I'd say stay away from this ship, unless you get a price about 1/2 that of other ships.

Perfect week in paradise by hotolski731

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The itinerary was amazing!!  The ship is beautiful.  It is an older ship so it only features one waterslide, which is a bummer for kids when you pull up next to a Disney or NCL cruise with massive water slides.  You can eat Guy's Burgers every day and cozy in for Dive In movies with blankets or watch from the hot tubs.  The staff was friendly.  The entertainment was not as good as we have seen before but they did a great job.  Any day cruising and being on island is a great day!!

Carnival Glory March 19th 2015 by mcclarywe

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The trip was okay, but not great.   The weather was nice, but we had a room in the middle of the ship. 2-411.  We didn't get much sleep at night as the room was next to a kitchen and the works kept us awake with cleaning most of the night.

The people on the ship were really friendly.  The spots we visited were really nice also.

We were over charged for tax and fee  $598.36.  American Express is looking into this.

Carnival review by rls54streck

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Had a great time! Very satisfied. Very friendly and hard working crew. The food was very good. There are only a few things that we feel would make the cruise even better. The excursions are kind of expensive, could have a few more cooked veggies on the menu, a workout area would be nice to work off some extra pounds from eating too much. My wife has allergies so she would like a room without too many dust attractants such as cushions on headboard. Those types of surfaces are not usually cleaned very often compared to hard surfaces.

First cruise by willinghamreale

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

My husband and I celebrated our 30th Wedding Anniversary by taking our first cruise.  It was great!  However, we did not like Grand Turk island, once you get away from the Carnival area the rest of the island is very less than desirable.

Muy buena experiencia by nubeland

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Carnival is making too many cutbacks by kelleylaurie447

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Ports were wonderful! Glory was a disappointment. Food was so so, entertainment was lacking, no chocolate on our pillows at night which my husband looked forward too. Pursers office would tell you one thing one day and something different the next.
