Review summary

My husband and I celebrated our 30th Wedding Anniversary by taking our first cruise.  It was great!  However, we did not like Grand Turk island, once you get away from the Carnival area the rest of the island is very less than desirable.

Cabin / Stateroom

Our Stateroom included a balcony. If you decide to go on a cruise, it pays to get a balcony. We will go back on Carnival and book a Stateroom with a balcony view.

Grand Turk Island

1 out of 5
Grand Turk island is dirty, filthy and sub pare. Once you get off the cruise ship and are away from all people on the cruise and are on an excursion the island is not well kept. There's garbage everywhere, the roads are terrible with pot holes, houses still vacant from the 2007 hurricane that blew through the island. The tour guide stated that the island only gets one shipment of food per week for the island from Florida, so beware before you eat ANYTHING off the island, wait until you return to the cruise ship to eat. There's donkeys and horses that run wild on the island.

We got the same impression. We toured the whole island. The Carnival area was very nice but the rest of it didn't impress us at all. Half Moon Bay was our best stop. We loved the beach and clear waters!
