Most enjoyable cruise experience!! by jacquiwitt

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I loved this cruise so much, the ship was good, the destinations were GREAT!! Guy's Burger Joint on the ship was delicious and our go to for lunch pretty much everyday!!  We didn't book any excursions through the ship instead we booked Mr. Sanchos online for an all inclusive resort in Cozumel and took local tours for a much better bang for our buck.Happy

Great Cruise by prodiver1812

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple

The food and service was outstanding. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Dinner in the Platinum Dinning room every night was fantastic. Amil and the other waiters were great and friendly. They made the Dinning experience even better!

The shows were great and so was the food. The staff were the best. I didn't like sitting in the dinning room over the motor but even that was ok. Enjoyed it a lot.Big Smile

Fun in the Sun by btwood72

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Being a seasoned cruiser, and cruising on various cruise lines, I was disappointed with this particular trip to the Western Caribbean on the Glory.  Even though the ship was older and could use a little more TLC on the part of Carnival, for the most part is was clean.  The biggest disappointment was that the diningroom staff really rushed us each night through our dinner.  We had to beg to get our first cocktail and usually they had already taken our food order by then. One night I was barely in my seat when they were taking the appetizer requests; and yes, we were there on time each night.  The food wasn't as good either.  Our request to have our party of 11 together in the diningroom went on deaf ears.  Very, very disappointed.  Three members of our group were at the other side of the room, dining with people they did not know.  I have to say, though, that the activities on board were plentiful.... shows were fantastic and comics hilarious.  Our favorite shore excursion on Cozumel is the catamaran, the Fury, with snorkeling and beach time.  They do an excellent job.  It is the 3rd time I have done this excursion.  On the other hand, the Ten Best excursion on Roatan was HORRIBLE!  No lunch breaks during a 5 hr van tour, and toilet facilities limited.  It shouldn't even be an excursion.  Overall, we had a nice time and we had great weather.  But the diningroom experience really overshadowed the entire experience.

Wish I had a better time. by scottswife87

The excursions were my favorite part of the cruise. We weren't happy with the food selection and there should have been more activities by the pool. We had  some issues with our room.

Part of the Facts of the Worse Cruise of My Life, and my Wife's by thekersnowskis

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I would never recommend this cruise to anyone with a service animal.

Carnival has not gotten back from my messages one month ago. I was told I would receive a reply in 5 or 6 days. I missed 2 ports out of 4 due to miss information. All the specifics have been sent to carnival before . After months of preparation and vet fees and a trip to Miami to get USDA certification from Aphis. The cruise line's advice was to get information from each port. I did, followed all instruction, and obtained an USDA international health certificate, Mexico's health certificate for the export of dogs and cats into Mexico. We were woken up at 7:40 and told to be at client services without any advance warning. We got to guest services at 7:50 am to be told the Mexican Department of Agriculture representative left. We later met them on the peer. To be allowed our one and only. Port of Call.

This is the third letter to Carnival with only one response. It was to tell us There was nothing to be done. It is the fourth letter asking for feedback. I guess that Carnival is not interested in negative feed back. I expressed many more facts in my previous emails and phone calls to Carnival. Luckily I still have copies of my outgoing e mails in the computer.

              Thank you for your time.

                              Timothy Kersnowski

Not Carnival's Best by krock623

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

My party had a great time on the Carnival Glory.  We are avid cruisers and will probably do another Carnival cruise in the future.  The Glory seemed old.  One outlet in our room.  In this day and age, that's not cutting it.  Very, very long lines for buffet.  I resorted to cold cereal in morning instead of standing in the line.  Food was ok.  Getting drinks at dinner and a coffee with dessert was like pulling teeth.  We learned to come to dinner with a drink.

The staff was great though.  Saffie the cruise director was excellent.  Louie, was my Cabin Steward and I wish he fit in my suitcase.  He was excellent!!!!!  The Glory had a very nice Veteran's Day celebration.

Overall, the cruise was nice.  Just little things that novice cruisers would never notice

Halloween Eastern Caribbean cruise by shollingswor28

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Overall a wonderful vacation for my wife and I celebrating over 30 years this ship was very well maintained and clean the staff always extremely friendly and helpful the food was fantastic the excursions a good value and varied in content to satisfy every  passenger  , the Halloween costume contest and festivities were a fun  experience   if there were any criticism at all it would be that our stops in port or at the same time as a sister ship the Carnival Magic and as a result it delayed our time getting off the vessel and thereby reducing our time in Port if the stocks were 2 hours apart this would not have been as much of an issue   please don't let that one thing create the impression that this wasn't a wonderful trip it really was and I'm looking forward to the next one I forgot to mention how good the shows were

Happy

Old ship by Shanny94

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The hospitality of the crew was great and the ship was clean now that being said this is an OLD ship. The rooms only have one outlet to plug anything into. The bathrooms flood when you shower. The ship lost power one morning. The tables in the platinum dining room vibrate from the engines that are right below. To the point that the dishes were falling off the tables. The music in the dance club was so loud that the people's whose rooms are right above it can't sleep. I wouldn't do this cruise again. My party of 13 made the best of it but I'll go back to Royal Caribbean.

Infinity Experiece by luzmercado

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

A daily service charge of $13.50 per person, per day, is billed to passengers in all cabin categories up to and including mini-suites. An 15 percent gratuity is automatically added to bar drinks, all specialty dining including theater. The food quality on this ship was bad, no taste and haft the time the food was either warm or cold. We complained to the people in charge of the food and they said it would be corrected but unfortunately the next day the same problem. The only time you got a somewhat hot temperature food was eating in the main dinning room. Once again for the amount of money you pay to stay on these ships you would think that the quality of the vacation would be much better!!!

Very solid vacation by macphisto13

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The destinations are the reason to book this cruise.  The ports of call were wonderful and I would highly recommend this cruise... however, just be aware that the Glory is an older boat, showing wear.  I didn't think the food was amazing and the staff, for the most part, I was less than impressed with.  There were some really friendly people but most didn't seem to care if we were there, especially on the first day which I expected a lot more enthusiasm as we boarded.  It almost felt like we were going to the DMV.

Eastern Caribbean Cruise on the Carnival Glory by Cruiser948209

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We went to Half Moon Cay and swam with the Stingrays (fun)!  From St. Thomas we took an excursion to snorkel at St. John's Trunk Bay - beautiful.  We had a bit of an issue with the weather but still a good time.  San Juan was fun.  The Fort (can't remember the name but it started with a C and is basically in Old Town) was really cool, especially the dungeon but it was quite the hike!  Grand Turk was one of my favorites because you could snorkel right at the beach and the gear only cost $10 for the whole day.  The fish were beautiful!

The ship (Carnival Glory) could use some help with the food.  A lot of it was bland.  There were a few highlights but for the most part, nothing to write home about.  Their disembarkation process didn't work too well on this cruise.  I don't know if it's always this disorganized and slow but we were not happy with our experience!   Also, at Grand Turk they opened the gangway for only about 15 min and then closed it again for about an hour so the Carnival Magic could dock.  Not too many passengers were happy about that!!!

Based on the food, disembarkation and the issue at Grand Turk, I would not recommend the Glory!  However, most of the crew were wonderful and some of them were awesome!   Overall, it was OK.

The Best 7 Days of my lfe! by Cruiser58356622

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

My favorite part of the cruise was that everything was ready and available to me. I didn't have to do much other than enjoy my serenity. It was vacation with ease. I usually need a vacation from my vacation when I return to my reality but this time I was so relaxed that I did not want to leave. In fact I am trying to figure out how to get back as soon as possible. I look forward to cruising again very soon.

So-so by mark22157752

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Cabin ref wasn't working the first few days, after that it was only minimally cooling.

Sliding door between the entry way and dressing room was a slider. With the ship rocking as much as it did, this slid open and slammed shut throughout the night. Even the vanity drawers would slide open and actually trap anyone in the bathroom as they blocked the door in the open position. Other than that, the cabin was on par with other cruise ships cabins w/ regard to space and amenities. There was plenty of storage.

Food was mediocre. Not bad, just average at best (and not average for our cruise expectations, but just very average fare) When people cruise, they ought to come home raving about the  great food. This in turn makes their friends and relatives interested in trying a cruise. This ships culinary offerings were about on par with a cheap luncheon restaurant that took over an old Pizza Hut in a non-profitable location.

Those things said, the service was excellent from the housekeeping staff and food servers!

Entertainment on three of the seven nights was also very good. Where on earth they came up with back to back "Hasbro" shows though is beyond me. How does that pass for any kind of entertainment at all?

Our ship visited Half Moon Cay, St. Thomas, San Juan and Grand Turk. We had been to all of these many times, and all are wonderful stops.
