Carnival Freedom Cruise Reviews - Reviews

This was our first cruise and we had a blast!  Everything on the ship was fun and we have tons of memories and pictures to remind us.

High Notes:

Alchemy Bar - If you have a chance to go here, do it.  The drinks and the staff are amazing!

Stewards/Housekeeping - Very friendly and hard workers.  Our stateroom was always immaculate and who doesn't love a towel animal waiting for you every night.

Entertainment - The musicals were very fun and the comedians on board were hilarious.

Ports of Call - Grand Cayman and Cozumel were great, eventhough we didn't have any excursions.

Low Notes:

Bed - The beds were rock hard and made it difficult for a side sleeper like myself to sleep comfortably.

Onboard Prices - Wooo. Everything onboard is pricey to an extent of doubling the price of the cruise after we were finished.

Port of Call - Jamaica was not as fun as the other two ports.  The aggressive locals made for a bad experience for us.

every thing was great, the food excellent, the room service great . the only draw back was the smoking in areas that could not be  avoided.even allowing young children around these areas.

Staff was very friendly. Cruise director is very funny

and awesome at his job. The comedy entertainment

was great. I did not like how the cruise line pushes

alcohol. So many people on the ship obviously drunk

and should have been cut off. 

The cruise was fun and relaxing. Only one complaint. Carnival needs to 

control the smoking areas. We had smoke around our balcony every time I was 

out on the balcony. That is very offensive to me. Fifth floor was so overwhelming with smoke from cascino that found its way to the staircase and shopping area. 

The quarters were a bit cramped because we had 4 guests in a basic room.

The live musical entertainment was great when it was available. It was available on more than half of our days.

Bridgette the entertainment director was amazing, worked the crowd like Donald Trump. I think I have a lil crush!.

The dinning experience was second to none. Fillet Mignon available almost every day if you are into that stuff. Then again, I'm not a picky eater.

The wait staff is excellent. Many of the wait staff seem uncomfortable dancing and I don't think it enhances the dining experience.

The sting ray and turtle snorkel excursion was the best experience. Dayton and his crew were fantastic.

The comedians, Cowboy Bill and Kelly wanted us to give them a positive review...so here it is.

My major complaint is that the DIVE IN movie is a bit worn out. The movies selection was fantastic but the screen needs some repairs

It was a wonderful trip.  the crew and staff were very friendly and for our first cruise experience - very enjoyable.  The food was really good and our room with a balcony was great.  I always want a balcony in any future cruises - I loved coffee in the morning and stepping out to look anytime i wanted.  

We have cruised to different parts of the world on several other Cruise lines, and I can honestly tell you that YOUR Cruise ( which we were on from Sep-10th thru the 17th of Sep.2016, on the Carnival Freedom ) was NOT up to our expectations. One of the main disapoinments was when we got the final bill from our Sail and Sign account, we were charged an outrageous amount of gratuities, since out total expenditures were only less than $300.00 and were charged over $ 180.00 on gratuities, which amounts to over 65 % of our total bill., And, our Cruise agent ( Ms Linda Clifford ) never told us about, and if we had known that we would be charged such a rate on gratuities we would NEVER had booked this last cruise. We have never been charged such an outrageous amount of money for gratuities, and you can bet that we will NEVER again book another Cruise thru your Cruise line ( Carnival). We will go back to Royal Caribean, Holland or Celebrity, Unless we hear from you with an appology and a reduction of those charges, we WILL dispute the amount you charged us to American Express, making sure you do NOT get all that money from us. Also, the amount of "Onbard Credit" that Ms Clifford promised us was never deducted from our final bill. To say that the service , food and entertainment was " UP TO PAR " on this last cruise, would be an overstatement !!!  Waiting to hear from you. Sincerelly,  Rogelio Rangel and Linda Cline

We, had a wonderful time on our cruise. Our wait staff and room staff where top notch. They where there to answer all questions and made our time on the ship wonderful. I can't say enough about the staff, because of the service the staff provided I would 100% recommend cruising with Carnival. We have cruised with Royal and we enjoyed our time, but the staff of Carnival went above and beyond!!!

This was our first cruise which we were both very nervous about. The entire trip from beginning to end was very organized. The staff was amazing and always made us feel comfortable and welcome. There just seemed to be something contagious in the air that made everyone in a great mood. The amount of food we were able to eat that week was unbelievable lol. Although we were full we just couldn't stop due to the extended amount of choices that all went beyond our expectations in flavor and variety. The only problem we had was choosing what activities to do because there was so many choices. It was like a dream come true. We can't wait to go on another one as soon as possible!!!

We loved everything about the Cruise,This was our second one  with carnival. The service was great, we enjoy everything especially that my nephew and his girlfriend joined us to celebrate our 19th anniversary. Can't wait for our next cruise next year.

This was our first cruise. We are still talking about the trip. it was relaxing, entertaining, awesome and  very friendly staff all over the ship. We enjoyed the food, music, water activities, shows, games, casino and the cruise watching the world past by at a steady pace. The weather was terrific no rough seas.. The staterooms   were excellent and comfy. the stewart for our side of the boat was very pleasant and helpful in every way. His name is iwayan and was always with the smile and greeted us by our first names. I was surprised he can remember our names with so many people on board. He greeted us twice a day, every day. The Cruise director Malcolm made our 7 days very entertaining and lots of laughs. Enjoyed all the extra details like animal towels, room being cleaned and changed twice a day. Special thanks to the captain and all his assistants for a smooth ride.

This was our 1st cruise and it was wonderful! The staff was constantly working to keep everything spotless. The ports were amazing. Our favorite was Roatan and Maya Cay island. We loved the movies under the stars and the food was amazing. We are planning our next cruise for the spring :)

This was my first time cruising on the freedom.  I was on the 6th deck. Every night there was music playing so loud we couldn't  hear the television and my mom is 74 years old . The food was not as good as I have had on some ships. Debark was horrible and took two hours. Not satisfied and will not recommend this ship.

we had the " fast to fun" well we received out bags around 630 pm. We were charged for drinks we didn't order. Our bags were missed placed when we got off. However the shows were great. 

Loved every bit of this trip.  This was the Premier cruise and I think it was one of the best. They had several drawings in the casino and lots of games. Cant wait to go back.

The Gentlemen that stand out as the most outstanding is Alex and his crew at our formal dinner in the Posh at 6 PM.  A long with the gentlemen that took care of our stateroom 1453 for the entire cruise.  They were great.  

Every where we looked the ships crew were always working hard.

Adult night life was a little disappointing.  Not a lot after 11 PM going on for couples.  We were hoping for more couples dancing.  A lot of deck party "step dancing"  catered more to the younger generation.  

The bubbles program was a hassle.  

Some of the bartenders during the day need to improve on customer service.  

Need more assistants working the Guest Services desk.

The casino area needs to be enclosed and better exhaust due to the cigarette smoke.  It was in the air on that deck where you have to pass thru to get to the other side.   

Other then the few issues listed it was a great experience.  

since our cruise was diverted to the carabian area, I was suppored to get a refund on my previus arranged $90.00 tour of Nassau . it was not  refunded to me. there a charge on my chase visa for the $90.00. please respond!!!!!!

The cruise was excellent. Enjoyed the staff and ports visited. Would prefer R&B singers. Overall best cruise I have been on. The ports were excellent. We visited Montego Bay, Jamaica, Cayman Island, and Cozumel, Mexico. I recommend taking Carnival excursion it's great plus safer. The staff and Cruise director was Super. The entire staff did an excellent job. 

First, we were disappointed to be re-routed because of tropical storm, but tried to enjoy anyway. Immediately noticed that the ship was old, balcony cabin was not great. Bed had dips in mattress, furniture was dated, one drawer was not working. The wait staff in dining hall was very attentive, but the entertainment (dancers/singers) was below par. One "show" looked as if it was thrown together in a hurry; and singers sounded off key at times. I don't think we would've noticed except that we've cruised other lines with outstanding shows, so our "bar" was set high. We spent hours at home researching excursions so that we would not have to use Carnival; with the change of ports, we had to go with their overpriced and crowded excursions. We felt like sheep being corralled at each port. One excursion advertised being transported on a catamaran, but it was actually a "tender", disappointed again. 

Just June(comedy) was my favorite part of the cruise. Freedom was the worst ship that I have ever been on. The toilet smelled horrible, it was reported and not repaired. Our room was not clean upon arrival and the attendant was horrible.
