Review summary

The cruise was fun and relaxing. Only one complaint. Carnival needs to

control the smoking areas. We had smoke around our balcony every time I was

out on the balcony. That is very offensive to me. Fifth floor was so overwhelming with smoke from cascino that found its way to the staircase and shopping area.

Not a smoker and don't appreciate cigarette smoke but I was around the casino numerous times last week and just didn't see a major issue. Guess some things bother some more than others.

Number one complaint when Carnival asked me to do a review when i was on Freedom Last month....SMOKING. smoke everywhere from casino. Not enjoyable trying to walk around it. Very dissapointed. Will not be going on Freedom again.

Smoke makes me ill, allergies and breathing problems. Smokers are so rude, they will smoke right next to you and not even give it a thought.

We were just in Alaska and our adjoining balcony had chain smokers. I didn't pay for a balcony in Alaska to smell cigarette smoke. I could have complained but each time I went outside I would fake a ridiculous coughing fit. They got the point. Problem solved. Funny, but I never saw them in the hallways either. Odd. ;)

Complain to the Purser's. Have someone come to the cabin and check. Carnival does not enforce there own rules. 20 cruises, getting worse and worse. On the Vista the casino bar is in the middle of the casino open to the upper deck, they have sealed them off. But it is terrible!

No its not but they still do it. We don't even get a balcony any more for that reason.

Dputman you have opened a can of worms but here we go..... Completely agree. Let me say, not saying that they need to ban smoking but it needs to be controlled. There are ways to ventilate. The smoking-non smoking division in the casino is a joke, there are machines literally facing one another, full ashtrays in the non smoking section. The casino staff does nothing. We could smell the smoke up the elevator shaft to the 8th floor.
