Dont Think I Will Be On This Ship Again by goughryant

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Elation / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

It all started with the booking. When I booked my cruise I had to book two cabins cause of traveling with a family of 6. I was told that my cabins would be next to each other (they were not) I had one cabin on the 4th deck another on the 6th deck, this put me and two of my kids a way from my wife and other two kids (one of them is 16 months old). When I tried calling Jordan Benton (the person that booked my cruise) all got was voice mall, so left him a voice mall to call me back (I got no return call). So, I call Carnival  to have this fixed I was told I had to wait till I got to the port to have it fixed.  So when I got the port and asked to have it fixed, I was told to go to guest services on the 7th deck, so I did. When I got there the lady said she had never herd of anything like that and that she could not help me (she was kind of rood).

Next, the food was not all great. I felt like I was on ship for people that are dieting (the food had NO taste). The desserts were the worse I have ever tasted, even my kids wouldn't eat them. (how could you mess up cheese cake).

Next, my wife was told that there would be whole milk on the ship at all times for our 16 month old, we did not see a thing of whole milk. There was 2% and most of the time it wasn't even cold (maybe room temperature)

First Cruise Maybe not the Last by seloramiller77

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Elation / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

My favorite part of the cruise was the entertainment.  The concerts.  All the games that allowed us to be apart of the entertainment!  I don't think they can find anyone possibly better than Kevin.. He was superb!  I did not enjoy half moon cay.  It's an Island that has been bought by Carnival.  All American...noo native folk there.  Totally did not like that concept.

Limited Entertainment options by GMrake

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Elation / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Was disappointed with the entertainment options.  On a good note the comedians were awesome and the highlight of the trip.

If you are a geek like me, the Behind the Fun tour is great. Its like a 3 hour how it is made and VERY informative. You get to talk to the actually person in charge of the various sections IE  head chief, 1st engineer, captain etc and learn about the way they can pull all the resources together for the cruise.

Great time by vymjohnson

Favorite part of cruise was of course the food and selections were great. Comedy show's were great. One of the musical shows  was just ok but the others were entertaining.Cabin mate Phillip did an awesome job and drink server Glenford was extremely helpful and friendly.was not crazy about having to walk through the smoke infested casinos to get to the comedy club and the Serenity deck since I am allergic to cigarettes.

Overall experience was good and will go on another Carnival cruise

Carnival Elation by Cruiser16051660

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Elation / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

We had a large group of 13. We had an unforgettable vacation. The staff on ship were very attentive to detail and exceeded our expectations. When traveling with such a large group it was difficult to keep in contact with each other to make future plans. I highly recommend purchasing the social media package. By doing so, you're able to communicate through Facebook Messenger! Looking forward to booking our next cruise!

Not what I expected by raglandsj

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Elation / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

I will cruise again but not on this ship.  The food was not good and I want to feel the luxury of a cruise and this was not luxurious!  I did not enjoy Freeport and was even told by one of the staff not to bother getting off the ship in Freeport.

Girls' Getaway by 1983mcgehee

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Elation / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Our stateroom was very spacious. I am amazed at the size bathroom/showers that Carnival has as compared to other cruiselines.

The steward we (Rachmad) took care of our every need.

The dining room staff were very friendly and accommodating.

The only suggestion for improvement I would have would be to somehow work on the prices of the photos.  And I know that's not the cruiseline's fault, but it is a downfall.

Overall, had a wonderful time both onboard and on land!!Big Smile

Great time by Halcon

This was a great cruise we had a blast. The ship and the folks who work on it were great. The only negative to it was the food in the MDR was cold at times and the smoke from the casino was a bit ruff and at time seen to be in other parts of the boat.  But over all we had a blast and are planning our next trip.

The carnival cruise staff on Carnival Elation were amazing as usual. They were very attentive and made the guests feel welcomed. The servers in the dining room were extremely entertaining. Our room stewards made sure we had a clean room every time we walked back in.

A "tired" ship by dbroxson

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Elation / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

I could only compare this ship with Norwegian, but I found it in need of an update, especially in the cabins.  The bathroom was quite large, as was the cabin, with plenty of storage space.  The food was OK, and very ample, and the service was very good.

Disappointed by csmokey

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Elation / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

My favorite part of the cruise was at half moon cay island.  Overall cruise was poor due to the entertainment of ship and the condition of vessel. I have sailed on carnival numerous times and had sailed on this vessel twice prior to this vacation. After this cruise experience it will make me thing hard before every going on another cruise vacation.

1st cruise by nykkythompson

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Elation / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

I enjoyed myself very much as far as the cruise went.  I would like to express the service in the main dining was the only exception, service was good, however the dinners were always served late and not in order of meal planning.  Appetizers came out with salads, Dinners came before salads were finished, Drinks did not get filled on time or properly.  The break for entertainment should be done after all tables get the main course, several tables around us each dinner was already eating main course and finished before OUR table 210 was served.

Had a good time but by londa64

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Elation / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Well last year me and my family went on a cruise, leaving out of Jacksonville but it was on a different ship which was The Fascination, that was our first cruise and we had an Awesome, Wonderful and Amazing time, so much to do we had different foods every nite, the staff was Awesome also the ship was so big we did get to explore the whole ship, but this year we decided to take our kids along with us on the Elation, this ship was a lot different the staff was very Awesome, but we did like that they served the somethings every day and that the food places closed so early, the only GOOD food we had was in the dinning room, and not a whole lot to do compared to the Fascination, but over all we had a good time.

Very Enjoyable 1st Cruise by cwhitfield05

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Elation / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

With this being my first cruise, I was in awe of most everything. The ship, the food, the entertainment provided, and the courteous staff. There was always something to do for all ages. If you just wanted to sit and relax undisturbed, you could do that too! The food was phenomenal and if you went around hungry it was by choice. There were so many choices and selections available 24/7!

The boat was horrible by lackayek

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Elation / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This was my first time going on a boat cruise and the experience was the most horrible thing I've ever done. the staff on this Cruise work rude I'm a smoker I had to stand the whole time if I wanted to smoke because the bar that has smoking on the boat has only four chairs and then this invisible line in the same room of non-smokers and ain't nobody sitting over there and the staff would make you move one chair over would not recommend this for anyone
