Review summary

I will cruise again but not on this ship. The food was not good and I want to feel the luxury of a cruise and this was not luxurious! I did not enjoy Freeport and was even told by one of the staff not to bother getting off the ship in Freeport.

I've been on several cruises. Most of them were several years ago. The food on the Elation was no where near as good. The Shrimp cocktail were tiny. The main course was room temperature. Some of the meals would have been much better had they been served hot. There was a hair on the plate of a passenger at our table. I was very disappointed in the quality of the food.

Dinning staff Leroy and Asop and room attendant Bosco were very good. The service at the bars was very slow due to not enough bartenders to take care of the passengers. lines were formed to try and order a drink.

Needs remodeling. Water from faucets was brown. Filled bathtub and water was brown and left foamy film on sides of tub. I did not get in the water. Lights in bathroom needed repair.

We went to Pirates Cove Beach by Taxi in Freeport and had a great day for $14 round trip fare, $3 park entrance, and $10 chair rental. $27 total!

I agree...do your research. We were on the Elation last October. Wife and I knew past reviews,photos and layout of the ship so we weren't surprised. Had an awesome cruise. It is what you make of it. But always do your research

We cruised on the Elation 5-10 September and loved it. Sorry you didn't enjoy it. I agree with you that it's older, but it has earned its scars with thousands of passengers a week for decades... I think it has character, and it was very clean. We liked the food. I also agree it isn't luxurious, but it was fun! More fun than the more upper scale ships we have cruised on. We choose fun!

We had the best snorkeling ever in Freeport and we just went to Belize last week to snorkel and it wasn't even as nice yes there is nothing to do at Freeport port but book an excursion like we did it was the best !
