Find a cruise with only one sea day at a time - tough to be onboard two days in a row - activities that we wanted to do where sometimes at the same time.

Take the time to explore the ship and experience some of the daily activities. It has a lot to offer, such as the Serenity area, the gym, the pools, clubs and restaurants. Also, get to know the staff. They are friendly and work hard to make your time there fun.

Explore every (public) room! Get out there and do the activities, don't just find one thing and stay there, explore, have fun, meet new people, do something different everyday!

The wood decks get crazy hot! If you are going to lay out put your shoes under your deck chair. Get to the lounges early for tendering off of the ship because the wait can be really long. At the AFT pool, don't stalk the few umbrella chairs, go around to the chairs along the side of the ship and there are tons of chairs in the shade. There are also plenty in the sun so your whole group can sit together. The breeze is really nice there too. It's way nicer and quieter than right next to the pool. Also, 50% of the hot tubs were not running the entire time. They were "closed for cleaning" every single day including the serenity deck. Get the Carnival hub app and pay the $5 to message the others in your party! It Jews you up to date on the events of the day. Don't wait until the last day to visit the Pixels Gallery or you will be digging through thousands of pictures looking for yours. Set limits though. In all of my "first cruise" excitement, I spent $400 on cheesy prom pics from this cruise....and I am not exaggerating a single dollar of that statement. I did it all over a span of 7 days and it was easy to do. I think I ended up with 15 prints. Doesn't sound like much but it adds up quick! That was the only thing I went overboard with, besides packing. Lesson learned!

On excursions ask how crowded the buses will be. On two of ours they used all of the pull down center aisle seats so we were really packed in there. At Cozumel we got a taxi for an hour long sightseeing tour. There was 2 of us and it cost $40 We got more and better pics in the shorter time. The taxi was a small car and brand new. Since we were two ladies I picked a lady driver. She was very good at remembering where we wanted to stop. Would do it again for sightseeing instead of crowded bus. Just don't get too far from ship and be back well before time. I'd allow for the unexpected to happen.

Fix the breakfast buffet to have breakfast food, not hot dogs and baked beans. The casino on this ship was right in the center and you had to walk right thru it to get where you wanted to go unless detouring thru the elevator or stairs to get around the casino. The SMOKE was awful you could smell it on both sides outside the casino. People NOT gambling just sitting at a bar in there to drink and smoke. I feel there should not be a bar in there just to smoke and drink, but to gamble your money away, probably while their kids were terrorizing the ship.

Prepare for relaxation. With so many activities to choose from, and many excursions, don't feel like you need to do everything. Plan on kicking back at pool side or in a lounge for a short bit.

Pack what you need and travel with less bags. It is easier to walk off the ship and get where you want to go if you pack less.

Make sure to hit Guy’s burgers, Guy’s Pig and Anchor (VERY limited hours - only real downside to the entire cruise) and the alchemy bar. And the ice cream! 😜

Read the reviews before you book any ship because some of them are known for breaking down and you will not get your money back if they don't port. You will only get the port fee of $9.00.
