Review summary

It was a great time as always on a carnival ship. I think we spent too much time on the ship this time around and I would have enjoyed seeing more ports. But over all it was a good vacation.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
I didn't like that everyone was forced to take a picture. Since my group was so large it look a long time for the photographer to set us up and we lost our place in line. I think it would be easier if there was one stop to check your ID and get everything set up rather than having people go through three different people.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The food at the buffet was either too dry or too liquidy. On the morning we had to be off the ship early, we went to the buffet and the eggs were still liquid. The main dining room was always fantastic. the food was cooked all the way through and the presentation was excellent.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The pools were always too busy or completely full of people. I really enjoyed the adult only section. I wish there was an adult only pool.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
I really enjoyed the shows in Encore as well as the comedy shows.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone was well trained and always willing to help out. The fun crew was hilarious and knows how to have a good time.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
There were more moments than I would have liked that I couldn't get in an elevator or even use the stairs because of the amount of people in the area.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Always clean and very comfortable.

Ship tip

Pack what you need and travel with less bags. It is easier to walk off the ship and get where you want to go if you pack less.

Ports of call

New Orleans, Louisiana

4 out of 5
This town has a lot of history and it was a great place to visit once. The city itself is very dirty and some places do not feel safe at all.

Montego Bay, Jamaica

This is not an enjoyable port and should not be visited. I could not get off the ship without being attacked by people trying to sell me things or take me somewhere. Our excursion was disorganized and dirty. They charged us for every little thing, like the chairs we were sitting in. I was waiting for them to charge me for breathing. I absolutely would discontinue sending people here.

George Town, Grand Cayman

5 out of 5
The island was beautiful as were the people. We were able to choose what we wanted to do and not be ambushed by everyone. We really enjoyed our trip snorkeling, seeing sting ray city as well as starfish point.

Cozumel, Mexico

4 out of 5
I did not like being forced to go through the shopping area. It was difficult to get through to our excursion which was right when we got off the ship. The excursion was great. I really enjoyed the Twister and the private island. It would be great to have more food options, but apart from that it was a good time.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
It was a quick and easy process and I really enjoyed that.

if you want lots of ports do the Southern Caribbean out of San Juan. 7 say cruise with only one sea day and they have a few now tgat added one more port and no sea days. we loved all of the southern Caribbean ports and although Fascination is a smaller, older ship it's easy to get on and off, crew was great, ship was in good condition and she has a drydock late Jan or Feb to be fixed up.

Usually 3 ports is the norm on a 7 day cruise. We prefer the Eastern Caribbean for ports. Never get tired of St marten, St Thomas.
