Our first but definately not the last. by PeterT2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This being my wife and my first cruise we did not know what to expect, but from the first moment from the check in counter to the last goodby to some special crew members this will go down as one of our best vacation experiences in 14 years of marrage. There was not one member of the ships staff that did not make us feel as if were not long time friends. The food was outstanding, the service great, the biggest problem was not having enough time to rest. My wife or I would not trade the experience for anything.

Cheap on price, not on Vacation! by EfrainG

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Very clean, hospitable, and relaxed atmosphere. Enjoyed shows, food, and excursions. Great for families! If planning a honeymoon or just a trip as a couple, there might be other ships that will suit you but you will not be disapointed regardless. Good experience!!

" The worst experience of a lifetime" by DaleT

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Staff was very good. We got food poisioning in the main dining room and bug bites on our bodies in the veranda state rooms from sleeping in the beds. The Infirmary was the best part. They kept us and many other guest experincing the same issue alive. This is our seventh cruise worldwide on other lines, however Carnival Cruise Lines will never see our group or any of our friends ever again.

Somewhat dissapointed by MarieK

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Our room was the best, we really enjoyed the balcony. We did have several issues, metal soap holder in the shower kept falling, balcony door between the cabins was broke and banging most nights, cold coffee every morning, we eventually got it all fixed. I did not care for the shows at all. The crew was not helpful in any way, acted like you bothered them to ask a question. The price was great.

Our experience on Carnival Conquest by JudithE2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship was clean and we enjoyed our balcony stateroom, except for the noise from the adjacent cabins. There were apparently several children in them, all noisy. The ship staff was very polite and friendly. Passengers were allowed to just leave a towel on a deck chair, therefore reserving it for the entire day. This made it difficult for others to find a place to sit.

Great Time by DerelR1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Ship and food better than expected. Entertainment not very good except for the Carnival Dancers who were great. Why is smoking still so prevalent on cruise ships? Entertainment such as trivia games and jazz band located in smoking bars with NO consideration for non-smokers. Could not find a non-smoking area in the cassino so I did not gamble. Near as I could estimate, most people on the ship did not smoke. Why do they allow smoking in most of the bars and the whole cassino?

A First-time Cruise Experience by CeciliaA

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship (Conquest) was beautiful. Its decor was of the impressionist painters and their works, and it was very well done. The ship's crew and management were very well organized and efficient. The ship was kept spotless.

A great experience by Mike10

The ship is remarkable. I really appreciate what goes into building a ship of this size so to be aboard it and not even feel the ship says alot about how well they are built.

DREAM TRIP by TeresaB5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)

This was my first cruise and I was totally pleased. The ship was even more beautiful inside than the pictures online. The staff was unbelievable and service couldn't have been been any better. If you want to feel like a queen or king, a cruise on this ship is the way to go.

A Rocky Cruise by SheilaW3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The Captain and Staff were most wonderful considering we were in the middle of the Gulf when Hurricane Ike destroyed our Port in Galveston and most of the passengers cars. They held us at bay for a couple extra days, we woke up at Grand Cayman, getting dressed and excited to hear the announcement that Grand Cayman was closed and wouldn't let us Taxi in due to rough waters! This was a major disappointment since they built up Grand Cayman as the highlight of our trip! Once we were told New Orleans would let us pull in the their Port, the phones were jammed and cell phones didn't work. The whole cruise was very rough and I'm so sad that it was a first cruise for my new Husband. Not at all normal.

Carnival is not for us by Bobo1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We recently sailed on Carnivals Conquest for 7 days. We are a couple with 2 teenagers and wanted a relaxing vacation. We chose this cruise based on the origination point being 40 miles form our home. We understood it was a Fun Ship and anticipated that it may be more boisterous than our previous cruises with Princess (5 years ago) and Holland America (8 years ago). Boarding was well done in general but we began to get a feel for our fellow passengers and were a bit concerned about them. At the risk of sounding elitist, there were a lot of beer swilling, t-shirt wearing people in full view. Generally speaking, if I walked into a lounge and saw them I would leave. In general the food was only fair. The buffet restaurant was marginal at best the service in that facility was absolutely awful. The main dinning room had far better food and service was reasonably good. The requirements of a collared shirt made the Monnet Restaurant a respite from the other passengers. Beverage Service was good throughout the ship with the exception of the pool bars. It seemed that the concept of serving Cokes at the bars frustrated the staff to the point of irritability and for the most part the bartenders were a pretty surly lot. The Stateroom was spacious but was extremely noisy. Hallway noise was always an issue up to 2:00 am from other passengers slamming doors and banging loudly on doors to gain admittance back to their rooms as they had forgotten their key. The dcor of the stateroom was dated and cleanliness was only fair. Pools were small and general deck conditions were always cluttered. The cleanliness levels were not good and by the end of the day all 3 pools looked like bio hazards probably due to the swimmer loads per gallon of water. Our family did not go into any of them.

VERY SMOKEY by KimI

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Western

you dont get long at the ports but the ports were great. I spent most of my cruise with a headache from the smoke. they have no smoking signs posted but they are not enforced and when you talk to the pursers off they will tell you that this is a smoking ship. I usually dont have a problem with smoke but this was just BAD
