We sailed on the Carnival Conquest and found it to be very comfortable. Ship was clean and well laid out. Buffet and restaurant accomodations were lovely. We especially liked our waiter in restaurant and the waitstaff entertainment. Ship had a Beautiful three level theatre.

Overall the cruise was nice and restful. The food and food service was poor, very bland. The shows were like high school shows.

First Cruise by TinaO

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Excellent first time experience. The staff was from all over the world 90 different countries which made for a cultural experience. Also they were kind gracious and attentive. The service was 5 stars all the time.

Lots of fun! by MavroneA

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship is a little older and shows signs of wear and tear. For the price it is a good deal. The food in the dining room was never served warm or hot. You get the same food in the buffet line and don't have to wait an hour for cold food to be served to you. Use the buffets, the grill, the pizza station, and the sandwich station for better food, shorter waits.

I had traveled on the Conquest before and it was much better the last time. The food was not very good, and the service in the dining room was lacking.

Best experience for traveling alone. by CathyH2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Western

From the moment I arrived on the ship, it was a very pampering experience. I felt that everyone did their best to make me feel welcome to their home, as well as mine. The ship was clean, well marked as to where everything was and how to get around to the different parts of the ship. There was always someone to ask directions, or help you with anything at all.

We were impressed with the staff and the way we were treated from the moment we stepped on the ship. We were addressed by name from the very first. Impressive.

The ship was beautiful! The wait staff was wonderful! Carnival had no excursions that you could take a person in a wheelchair to, which was very sad!!!

Touristy Cruise by LuisaE

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Ship was bigger than the Ecstasy but that meant more people. The Lido deck was taller, but the actual space for recreation was not very efficient. There were not many more bars or restaurants considering that it held three times more people.

Carnival.....A real circus by KimberlyW2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I was terribly offended when we did a booking and one of the excursions was to the Grand Caymans to visit the Turtle Reserve and saw that this was nothing but a "farm" to raise them for food. The conditions were terrible, they were kept in green looking water and tossed dried dog food. After the tour You could then go to the eatery and order a turtle burger, turtle steak , turtle soup etc. What is Carnival thinking??? Also our tour guide didn't know a think about the island other than to show us the price of gas and the building supply places, and ohhh the 2 grocery stores. We asked for a refund as did most of the people on the tour only to be told we could only have half a refund. The only good meal we really had was the steak house and we had to pay extra for that. I will not EVER do another Carnival Cruise and I plan on contacting my local humane society and posting my comments on the turtle farm, dolphin farm etc. that Carnival listed as "things to do and see" plus you have to pay a lot of money to see these captured and semi taken care of animals. Shame on you Carnival.

Fun with hubby by CatherineK

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The overall theme is French. The dining restaurants are Renoir and Monet. Eiffel tower decorations line the walls of the Renoir. There are lovely paintings throughout. The Theatre is beautiful as well. The food was very good. Service was also very good and the staff is friendly and genuine. Good mixture of activities for all ages. For whatever reason the mixed drinks did not taste good. My mojito tasted like a diet drink. I ordered a Dr. Pepper and rum which was hideous but then perhaps I made a mistake experiment. It sounded like it would be better than coke and rum but I was wrong. We missed our stop in Grand Cayman which was very disappointing. We made it on time but were told the swells were too big to tender. However, the Norwegian cruise did make it ashore.

Our Fun, Relaxing Cruise by KellyD2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This ship has an interesting impressionist motif throughout all of the decor. It felt like you were in a modern rendition of the early twentieth century. Our stateroom was nice, with a window looking out the tail end of the ship. We could hear the engines sometimes. Our room steward was very curteous and helped us with everything we asked about. We loved the towel animals they leave behind! The food was wonderful, you have many options on how you can dine, and almost all of the food was terrific. I had lobster tail, filet mignon, shrimp, burgers, pizza, pasta, soups, salad, deli style sandwiches, and many deserts. My only dissatisfaction with the food was the sushi; I love to eat out at sushi bars, so I was surprised by how much I ddn't like Carnival's sushi. I could barely swallow it. My husband tryed some other rolls but was not impressed. Drinks are expenisive on board, around $10 on average, so try to bring a bottle of wine with you to save money. The activitys on board were fun, we liked Mutzie the comedian as well as the comedian from Boston. Karaoke was one of our favorite things to do, there were a couple of nights when they provided a live band to perform with the karaoke singers. My husband was picked to be in the Carnival Legends show on the last night where he performed karaoke in front of the theatre audience! We enjoyed the casino, and one a little bit of money on penny slots. One guy won $25,000 cash on our last day! Towel folding class was fun too. The destinations were awesome, Jamaica was beautiful. We took a cab for $5 each to Doctor's Cave Beach, and paid $5 each to go in. Locals will ask you to buy weed and or cocaine! The beach had a bar with food/drinks, a showering area, chairs and umbrellas for rent and a beatiful white sand beach on crystal clear water. It was amazing. We want to go back! The Cayman Islands were also beautiful. We did the Carnival Cruise certified shore excursion: Cayman Shore Snorkel. It was really nice, we snorkeled over a reef where we saw a variety of tropical fish, a sting ray, and some really large fish that resembled sharks! The snorkel guides were really good, one guy was diving down through caves in the reef with just his snorkel! Well woorth the cost! In Cozumel it was raining, and we justwalked around town and went shopping. We got some top shelf tequila for less than half the cost of what it sells for in the states. A great place for duty free liquor! Over all my husband and I really enjoyed our cruise and had a relaxing, fun time.

I have taken this ship before. The entertainment and food was not as good. It wasn't that they were bad, just not as good as they had been.

A Fair Cruise by BruceL2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship did not have very many places where passengers could sit and see the scenery the hand rails while keeping you safe blocked your view especially if you were confined to a wheel chair. Why did the designers place the restaurants on the stern of the ship? The natural movement of a ship is magnified at the stern!!!!!! Our cruise : the ships stewards had to place "sick Bags" at the doors of the restaurant due to the vast numbers of sea sick passengers! when problems were brought to the ships crew the "pat answer was that { next year it will be ready} "
