Sooo just off the Conquest... by thewhites321

Sail date: /
Ship: Carnival Conquest

Sooo just off the Conquest a few hours ago. I will say I can understand some of the less flattering posts I read before cruising. Don’t jump on me. Just giving my honest opinion of our experience. There were 17 of us total. Embark/Disembark ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ From the time we stepped out of our Uber to when we were on the ship in line for a burger was about 20 min. 😳 IKR! So smooth and friendly. The lines getting off moved quickly and it also was an easy transition. Stateroom/Cleanliness ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had Randy. He was very attentive and helped with anything we needed. The only downside which isn’t really that bad was that they were still cleaning our room when we went to get our keys and you could clearly see a few things that still needed attention but he quickly corrected it. Everywhere we looks someone was cleaning. Our balcony was great and all of our needs were met. Food - Not main dining room ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Guys was great. The Blue Iguana was delicious. Everything was fresh and sooo yummy. Went to the Chef’s table. It was out of this world. Also went to the steakhouse. Service was beyond exceptional. Food was good for the price. Buffet was good. No complaints. Food looked fresh, smelled amazing, and tasted pretty good overall Food-Main dining room (Monet lower) ⭐️⭐️ We were really disappointed in the dining experience and I get that there are hundreds of other people eating at the same time but the service was so slow and 2 nights our food came cold or not complete with everything we ordered. There were multiple nights that we asked for a condiment and it was brought after we were finished eating. Another night we got our food so late they were just taking our dessert order and they were preparing for the next meal setting. We chose to eat on the Lido bc we knew it would be faster and we could actually get what we wanted. The servers were nice but when half your table has food and then 20 min later the others get theirs or you watch every table around you get served and your waiting 20+ minutes for menus... just disappointing. But again I’m sure some of you had great experiences and I’m glad so don’t jump down my throat. Ours was just okay. Entertainment ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 Flick was incredible. All of the effects and illusions. I was in awe. The rest was just okay. I was expecting more I guess. Some of the dancing was great but some of the singing was 😣. Again just my opinion. LSB was anything but. It was more like a twerk-a-thon. At least the first round. Didn’t watch the rest. Loved the trivia and the dance parties. So much fun! Matt is a gem! Ports Princess Cay/Grand Turk ⭐️⭐️ Not really worth getting off the island. Thanks for the tip about the chairs. They tried to make us pay. Water was kinda gross of the right side of the walk. Curaçao/Aruba ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely amazing! Food to the sights to the incredible beaches. Would love to go back directly to Aruba and stay. Just breathtaking. Wish we would have stayed at the beach longer. We know next time though. Again just my take on this wonderful 8 days. It is what you make it. Somethings you can’t control.

Not our first Carnival cruise... by flunker22

Sail date: /
Ship: Carnival Conquest

Not our first Carnival cruise but have to say not my favorite! The ship is old and in need of many upgrades. The buffet was just okay but the food and service in the Renoir dining room and the steak house was excellent. The casino dealers were great (Jorge, Kyros) but had to deal with smokers who weren’t even playing any games! As others stated earlier Mat the cruise director was funny and very entertaining. Sorry for the not so favorable review but I call it as I see it.

I’m giving this cruise a... by lancykay

Sail date: /
Ship: Carnival Conquest

I’m giving this cruise a 5 star because it was so much fun. Not the newest ship, or the most updated, but lots of good people (guests and staff). It was my first Carnival Cruise (I’ve always sailed on a competitor) but it will not be my last. Our cabin steward, Hendri was excellent. Me and my traveling companions ate every evening meal in the Monet dining room (4th deck) because of the wait staff, Joel and his team, were very attentive and knew our names on the first day. I could have skipped the Princess Cay and Grand Turk stops, but Curaçao and Aruba was fantastic. My room was comfortable and very, very clean. I would definitely take another trip on the Conquest.

Really good food on this ship and never a long wait for anything. Wonderful staff. The room was clean and nice. The liquor was delivered to our room the night before so no getting up early to pick it up. Real nice ship well taken care of .

Best Itinerary, wonderful vacation by luv2readtoo

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We were in lounge by 7am because we had luggage tags #8, early disembark. We didn’t get called until 9:30! I don’t know what the hold up was, but there was still many people behind us so I don’t know what time everyone was released.

PERFECT itinerary, Fun ship! by Chammyk

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Overall the cruise was the perfect length, and the stops were perfect. Next time we will try another ship, or perhaps cruise line, because we were very disappointed in the level of service by the crew.

I have mixed feelings about... by KBWest

Sail date: /
Ship: Carnival Conquest

I have mixed feelings about the Conquest and crew. I'm usually not one that complains about things but found that there were so many little things wrong with this trip that it made me want to pass along some information that I hope will be helpful. Maybe it is just inexperience, since this was my first cruise, but if it is yours keep these things in mind. Internet...very hit and miss the entire time. I purchased just the social package to be able to communicate with my adult children and with 10 others in our group. Took forever to get it up and working and then getting messages to go through was very difficult. Also, not able to communicate with others in our group only with others in your room. Dinner time....we were always the first table seated and always the last severed, even the last to leave the restaurant sometimes because it took so long. Server was also overloaded with tables. He was never able to fully serve us with everything we requested. Sea sickness...I had a severe case even though I tried to be prepared with every medication I could get prior to going. I wasn't the only one as 8 talked to others who experienced the same problem as the seas were a little rough. Knowing that this could be a problem for your guests you would think that they would have things to eat that were easy on an upset stomach such as crackers or broth but they didn't or they were very hard to find. I take full responsibility for even trying to take a cruise knowing that I have motion sickness but thought that the crew would be a little more prepared to help out. We purchased the soda package prior to sailing. If you order room service your sodas are not included, we thought that was strange. You also couldn't just walk up to any bar and get a soda so sometimes you spent a lot of time walking around looking for the right bar to get a soda. There is also a five minute rule. You can only get a soda every five minutes so if you wanted to drink one and take one to your cabin for later you had to wait until you could get another one or get back out of your room every time you wanted another soda. They also add gratuity to your bill every time you order a drink. On the plus side, we did have a medical situation with one person in our group and Dr. Mila and her staff were awesome! We couldn't have asked for better care. Also, Mat the cruise director was hysterical. We enjoyed our time with him so much. Several of the staff that we came across we not overly friendly and ran in to three that we down right rude. I know this sounds like a overly critical review but the trip wasn't horrible. My expectations maybe were too high to start out with or I just didn't have enough knowledge but I was with people who have been on 20+ cruises and said this was the worst one they had ever been on and probably would not be traveling with Carnival again so I dont think it was just me that didn't have the best experience. I hope this review is helpful and not just viewed as complaining, I hope I am passing on some good information to help others in the future.

My Cruise Review by angielette65

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Western

6421 & 6419 was our 2 rooms, and Jose was WONDERFUL,, I must also say that OKA in our dinning area was the BEST EVER.. he not only kept us happy but he had us laughing and we did him as well.. The ship was a great ship to be on, everyone did a Great Job. We took this cruise with my Mom & Step Dad, they both have medical problems, My mom more then him, and we planned this just for her. I had such a great time with them and so glad I got to do this with them once again. This is our 2nd trip on a cruise, and the fun in just making sure my mom has a great time was wonderful. All though she is a little handicap which kept me very busy between her, my step dad and my Queen of a husband, I wouldn't have changed it for nothing. Just watching her and my step dad enjoy themselves.. that was the best. I must add, every staff member on this ship was so good with her.. I couldn't have asked for me.. Jose was great in our rooms, and Ako was the best at dinner. Thanks for everything to all.

My husband and I had... by tanvin215

Sail date: /
Ship: Carnival Conquest

My husband and I had a wonderful time for out first cruise!! We loved Grand Cayman and Ocho Rios. The food was good, our room steward Pad was awesome and the cruise director Mat was great as well. We didn't purchase any excursions and we were able to have a great time at both ports! Grand Cayman was so beautiful and peaceful. We went to the Royal Palms and relaxed on the beach for a couple of hours before heading back to town for shopping and lunch. Next time, we definitely want to a full tour and visit the local neighborhoods. I was surprised about the negative reviews for Ocho Rios. We had a great time there! We purchased a tour locally when we got off the boat and it was just fine. We got to see the areas up on the mountain, visit a local beach, ate lunch and shopped a little. We dropped off a few other riders to Dunns River Falls (we'll do this next time lol). We weren't harrassed in any way by the locals! I definitely want Jamaica as a port on the next cruise we book. Overall, we had a great time! Please don't get discouraged by the negative reviews on Ocho Rios. We had a awesome time there! I'm so looking forward to booking my next cruise. It truly is an experience!

Terrible experience by LadyRed48

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This is the worst cruise experience I have ever had. The food was terrible, I bought a $25 Fun Book that was a rip off, there was a lack of communication and the disembarkment was chaotic. Never again on the Conquest.

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)

Loved this trip. We had 3 teenagers with us and then my son turned 13 while we were on this trip. Carnival gave him a build a bear and a certificate on his birthday and made it very special for him. They are already ready to go back this was the kids first cruise.

Family Reunion Cruise by caseycostanzo

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

My family and I went on this cruise for a family reunion. There were about 16 of us. Overall, I am glad I got to experience a cruise, but I am not anxious by any means to do another. I downloaded the app to be able to communicate with people on the ship, but it turned out you could only communicate with people in your room. There needs to be a way to communicate with people onboard the ship without having to pay for Wi-Fi. I didn't want to be connected to the "outside world" only the group of people that I was there with. We missed out on a lot of time and experiences together because of this. It would have been nice to know -if you weren't doing excursions, how to get to places that you didn't have to pay for. Also, with the amount of money that we spent on flights, then the transfer to the ship (and the tipping that the transfer drivers pretty much told you to tip them), the cruise itself, drink package, insurance, tipping, and souvenirs - it was completely insane to even think about spending a couple hundred dollars on excursions. We really wanted to hang out together on the beach, which we were able to do at Half Moon Cay, but definitely did NOT feel safe to even think about locating a beach at Nassau.

Bahamas on the Conquest by ftallman

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

We were disappointed in some aspects of this cruise. I don't want to be all negative after all it's still better than being at work.Lets go over it. Didn't see cabin stewart the whole cruise which is ok but if you need something you have to hunt somebody down (we had no cabin service menus in cabin) other than that cabin was fine. Diner menu was not up to standards that we have had before on previous carnival cruises, we even ordered premium meals which were not brought to table until long after others in our party were finished with their entire meal. There were suppose to be three people waiting on our table, we had to constantly ask for more beverages etc. when we did see them. note ship was not that busy. Other items of concern if you are used to doing early dinning then seeing entertainment the are not scheduled so you can do both. we skipped dinner one night so we could see comedy show. Coffee bar was not open at convenient times we like coffee when it was open the only girl working it was swamped so you had to wait a long time, note this cost extra. no lack of someone to take your picture or offer drinks though. Comedians were good if you got to see them even adult comedy show was not that bad. Stage entertainment was good recommend "Flick" show very good and talented singers. Piano bar was interesting and fun.
