I have mixed feelings about the Conquest and crew. I'm usually not one that complains about things but found that there were so many little things wrong with this trip that it made me want to pass along some information that I hope will be helpful. Maybe it is just inexperience, since this was my first cruise, but if it is yours keep these things in mind. Internet...very hit and miss the entire time. I purchased just the social package to be able to communicate with my adult children and with 10 others in our group. Took forever to get it up and working and then getting messages to go through was very difficult. Also, not able to communicate with others in our group only with others in your room. Dinner time....we were always the first table seated and always the last severed, even the last to leave the restaurant sometimes because it took so long. Server was also overloaded with tables. He was never able to fully serve us with everything we requested. Sea sickness...I had a severe case even though I tried to be prepared with every medication I could get prior to going. I wasn't the only one as 8 talked to others who experienced the same problem as the seas were a little rough. Knowing that this could be a problem for your guests you would think that they would have things to eat that were easy on an upset stomach such as crackers or broth but they didn't or they were very hard to find. I take full responsibility for even trying to take a cruise knowing that I have motion sickness but thought that the crew would be a little more prepared to help out. We purchased the soda package prior to sailing. If you order room service your sodas are not included, we thought that was strange. You also couldn't just walk up to any bar and get a soda so sometimes you spent a lot of time walking around looking for the right bar to get a soda. There is also a five minute rule. You can only get a soda every five minutes so if you wanted to drink one and take one to your cabin for later you had to wait until you could get another one or get back out of your room every time you wanted another soda. They also add gratuity to your bill every time you order a drink. On the plus side, we did have a medical situation with one person in our group and Dr. Mila and her staff were awesome! We couldn't have asked for better care. Also, Mat the cruise director was hysterical. We enjoyed our time with him so much. Several of the staff that we came across we not overly friendly and ran in to three that we down right rude. I know this sounds like a overly critical review but the trip wasn't horrible. My expectations maybe were too high to start out with or I just didn't have enough knowledge but I was with people who have been on 20+ cruises and said this was the worst one they had ever been on and probably would not be traveling with Carnival again so I dont think it was just me that didn't have the best experience. I hope this review is helpful and not just viewed as complaining, I hope I am passing on some good information to help others in the future.

Trying to figure out how you were the first seated and last served. That must mean everyone else in the dining room got faster service, some of the last seated people must have been served almost immediately. Sounds like good odds getting fast service then. Must be why I loved the conquest. Got lucky.

So sorry I have been on the conquest too not our fav ship but had a great time don't give up cruising maybe next time will be better

Didn't they charge you for the gratuities on the soda package when you purchased it? I know when you purchase Cheers they add 18% for gratuity at point of sale.

Dr. Prescription for trans scope the little patch that goes behind your ear for motion sickness. Work the best for my hubs. We stopped buying the internet always a hit or miss.. the hub is an awesome app to use! If not included in your phone plan add data to use OFF the ship kids can go a day or 2 even 3 while at sea

Bummer! We took our first crusie with princess at the beginning of September and nothing like that! We had one day where a lot of people got bother by the shells ( we hit some storms and choppy water for 1/2 day and night) the staff was overly helpful and was asking ppl if they were alright and giving tips on how to help and what drinks would help! Ginger ale mixed with some juice I forgot the juice. As far as the gaurntees go make sure to pay them before hand next time so you wont get charged Everytime they bring you something. It's worth paying it before you go. Then if you have a favorite person or people you can tip them while on the ship as well. I truly hope you try crusing again. I don't know much about sea sickness except that one night, it sucked! I learned I don't do choppy waters! Could your doctor prescribe you something should you wish to try again? We loved princess.

I'm in agreeance with you too much walking to try to get anything that you need crew members seem overwhelmed unhelpful I cruised on Carnival and hoping to try Royal Caribbean with a better outcome if not then I will realize cruising is definitely not for me

Please clarify. For the Internet package and not being able to communicate with others in your group and only those in your cabin.... we're you all using the Carnival Hub ap? Or did other in your group also get the social package and quality was so bad you couldn't talk to them. We had no issues communicating with a dozen others using just the hub ap and paying the $5 per device

Sorry that you had a not so perfect time. We have cruised the Conquest a couple of times, Feb of 18 was the latest. We found the ship to be very rough with lots of unusual movement. We spoke with 3 other people who had cruised on the ship but different dates and routes and they said the same thing. One of those three has been on 100 + cruises and said it was the worst motion she has ever felt. If you get a survey from ccl, make sure you mention those things that you feel need improvement.

Yes so sorry. hope you can muster up the strength to make it on another cruise. I sail on princess the most I have also been on a carnival ship even RCI but I personally prefer princess cruise lines

Such a bummer! I know how much you must have looked forward to it. We just took out first cruise on Princess a week ago and had a fabulous time. Nothing like you described happened. Don’t give up!
