Review summary

We were in lounge by 7am because we had luggage tags #8, early disembark. We didn’t get called until 9:30! I don’t know what the hold up was, but there was still many people behind us so I don’t know what time everyone was released.

We literally walked right into ship. Did not sit down or wait anywhere. That was the fastest we’ve ever walked into a ship.

Booked a private setting for photos. Card said it would take 45 minutes. We were finished in 12. I questioned photographer. She snapped a few more. Ended up taking about 20 minutes total. Next day, we viewed photos. I must admit they were beautiful. Although rushed, she knew what she was doing. Bought a package for $499. When we picked up package, we were missing 3 photos from our package. Had to be at studio to pick them up at 6:30 Saturday morning before disembarking. You’d think after spending that much money order would be correct, but they did make it right.

Cleanliness was good, but ship’s decor needs to be updated. Least appealing ship we’ve ever been on including other cruise lines.

Cabin / Stateroom

Size and layout is like any other Carnival ships. Steward kept it clean. Pull down bed was like sleeping on cement. No padding at all. My daughter had to request pillows to make a bed on top of matteress, just to get some sleep. Still woke up very sore. Words can not even describe how bad that bed was. Yes, I got up there to make sure she wasn’t over reacting. A/C is not the best. Bought oceanview, yet kept drapes closed so that it wouldn’t get unbearable.

Ship tip

There are better ships in Carnival fleet. Don’t base an opinion off this ship. It does get better!

Very confusing as to how to get to ship. Roads go every way, crossing each other. We turned around several times going and trying to leave.

Amazing! We were there for 12 hrs. So much to see and do. Bought an excursion. Saw wild flamingos and went snorkeling. Some of the best snorkeling we’ve ever done.

Oranjestad, Aruba

Hands down the most beautiful island and I can’t wait to return!! It is all that and then some. Paid a local for an island tour. Took us to rock formations, which was breathtaking. Went to aloe plant/factory. Very interesting and story behind island getting aloe. Was able to tour factory and see fields of aloe. Last stop was light house. In between stops, driver pointed out so many different things throughout island. Wished we had Curacao’s hrs on Aruba. Would love to spend an entire day instead of 5 hrs.

Some of the other cruises we've been on we ask for the mattress toppers for the upper birth beds. They've had them and it did make a big difference. We have never been on Carnival though so don't know if they have them.

Holdups on disembarking is usually due to customs & ICE checking everyone’s documents. Has happened to me before. We sat for almost 4 hours waiting for them to clear the ship. No one is allowed of until customs & ICE give permission
