Lower expectations and you might be pleasantly surprised. This was our 16th cruise but first on Carnival so we have been spoiled in the past. Because we were with a party of 33 it was a cheap way to have a family gathering. Not bad overall just not what we were used to.

There is always something to do on the ship. The staff works very hard to make sure everyone is happy and they succeed.

Try to get "Faster to the Fun" and check back often; it gets released several times, even though it says "sold out." Have patience because there will be lines for the popular places like Mongolian Wok. Make sure to compliment the hard-working staff who do such a good job on the ship!

Carnival Breeze caters to young party people. It would be nice to have more things like ballroom dancing and dancing lessons available instead of endless trivia games.

Spend about 2 hours watching all the TV channels, and reading all the paperwork, and calling the front desk, and so learn about the ship. I tried to escape electronics and Technology on this trip, and it's basically impossible. Without downloading the app, you don't really know what's going on, I guess. I did not download it until the very last morning, when I had to, to get the pictures I purchased. It was pretty hard for me, a non Shopper, to know if I was getting a deal on anything, so I stayed away from the shops mostly. If you think this is going to be a relaxing, stay away from schedules and time pressures, kind of vacation, you are wrong. If you just want to relax, read a book and float along, you are paying for a lot of things you won't use. Overall there was more good than bad, but I have no desire to do another Cruise. As a novice, and we did have an excellent group director, there was still a lot of apps, and websites to sort through, and decide exactly what you have to have, and what is fluff and stuffing. If you wanted to get away from the material world, this is not the way.

If you don't mind cigarette smoke, by all means take this ship. It stinks. Unlimited drink package is really not unlimited, don't buy it. Smokers on Lido deck. Slow bar service.

Just go with the flow and enjoy what you can you can whether it's Mother Nature changes things like we're trying to Dock and we had fog we spent the next door two and a half 3 hours on the ship that we were not supposed to we lost a rent a car so if it was not a good experience on that part but it was not anything that you guys could have done to change.

Definitely go to all the shows in the ovation theater, go to all the parties because you don't want to miss schwarts, and try out the water park

Get the Cloud 9 Spa rooms! Pay the extra money so you can have unlimited access to the thalasso pool! And go to the steakhouse!

THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL , NEWER SHIP THAT HAS LOTS TO DO AND EXPLORE. ENJOY ALL THAT IT HAS TO OFFER. GUY'S BURGERS ARE GREAT AND SO IS GUY'S PIG AND ANCHOR BBQ.

I would suggest to first time cruisers to do a virtual tour ahead of time to get a feel for the ship and its layout.
