Carnival was okay, not my first choice and I might consider going on this line again with lower expectations and hope to be pleasantly surprised. We are already looking for our next cruise so who knows what will happen!
Embarkation

Not too bad, the Port of Galveston had it under control and we moved rather quickly through the line. The only drawback was you were not given a cruise card right away and had to carry a piece of paper around, kind of tacky.

Food and Dining
3 out of 5
The food was okay, not great nor outstanding. Our favorite was Guy's hamburgers and that is over the steakhouse. At $35 per plate you would expect fantastic food, but it was unseasoned, and the lobster tails over cooked and chewy. We were also very disappointed with the Italian Restaurant, it was cheesy with the waiters singing to very loud music during our meal and the speg. was over cooked and not very appetizing to say the least. The buffet was okay as far as buffets go and the Sapphire Restaurant was different. We are used to linen tablecloths on our cruises, this was plastic with wood trim tables, without the standard of service or food as on other cruise lines that we have enjoyed in the past.
Fahrenheit 555

Not real impressed especially since we had a large party. The food was okay, the service was good and they did remember our anniversary which was very nice. The desserts were the best and tasted a whole lot better than the over cooked lobster tail that came with the steak. Nothing was really hot and the baked potatoe wasn't warm enough to melt butter, but edible.
Onboard Activities

We did not go to any of the shows, but did gamble.

Service and Staff

Staff was very nice and service was good for the cruise. Room steward was fabulous.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Not quite as clean as one would expect. The LIdo deck had dirt, crud and spilled drinks on the walls and window sills. Kind of nasty to look at. It was hard to find hand sanitizer that worked properly and the public bathrooms had no toilet paper in the stalls most of the time,
Cabin / Stateroom

Bigger than expected and we were very satisfied with out room.
Ship tip
Lower expectations and you might be pleasantly surprised. This was our 16th cruise but first on Carnival so we have been spoiled in the past. Because we were with a party of 33 it was a cheap way to have a family gathering. Not bad overall just not what we were used to.
Had a ball! Will have to go back and check it out in more detail. We had Uber take us around and decided that we need to have a car so we can explore more. Must visit!
Went snorkeling......didn't think we would enjoy this port since we have been there in the past and wasn't too impressed, but....if you go to the islands and snorkel and lay in the sand, eat freshly caught lobsters on the barbie and have a toddy, you can't go wrong........absolutely the best stop.
Very smooth overall. Really didn't like the way it was done since I was having a panic attack waiting on the bus to get to the airport. The bus didn't leave until the entire ship was disembarked. Next time we will know better.
Your review may be your thoughts but certainly not accurate! Carnival has excellent specialty restaurants! Might give your review more thought if you had any past cruises listed.
Good review. I didn’t like the paper as card until you get to your room idea at first but it does really speed up Embarkation. I was used to 3-4 hour wait, now it’s lightening fast. I personally love the Breeze but I do see your points. The lobster is a tough one to make correctly in mass. I don’t usually order it. Guys is the best for sure and unlike RCL, the burger place is free. One thing to always keep in mind is Carnival is a less expensive cruise line. I’ve been on a few different lines and for me, Carnival meets my needs and is quite a bit cheaper. Thanks for the review, happy cruising.
