Review summary

We really enjoyed our cruise and would recommend it to anyone! The Caribbean is lovely, even in January! I was surprised that we could swim in the Caribbean Sea in January and stay warm! So nice to escape the cold Wisconsin winter for a little while!

Embarkation

We had Faster to the Fun and it was a WONDERFUL experience! Totally hassle-free! We barely spent any time in the waiting area and were on the ship fast as can be. We went right into our cabins as soon as we boarded and our luggage soon followed! The room wasn't cleaned yet, and our beds needed to be put together but that was okay, the steward quickly made it up.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We enjoy the great variety of food onboard the Breeze! If anything, I was tired of being so full, but there were so many choices of foods I wanted to try. We especially liked the Blue Iguana Cantina for their breakfast burritos, liked sea day brunch except our service took over an hour that day. We also like Mongolian Wok!

Mongolian Wok

5 out of 5

We LOVE the food at the Mongolian Wok!!!

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Hot tubs were only luke warm and this was something to be desired; often getting out of them into the wind was FREEZING!!!

Thalasso Pool

5 out of 5

The Thassalotherapy pool is the BEST! It helped us to relax and unwind!

Entertainment

4 out of 5
We really enjoyed the "Love and Marriage" show. Other shows were okay, no plot really so they got a bit boring.

Band Stand

5 out of 5

The kettle drum player really enjoyed his art and it was fun to watch him play his songs!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
They are such hard workers!! Our room steward, PUTU was the BEST steward ever!!!! Very responsive to our needs and such a nice young man! We recommend him greatly!! He made it an even better cruise!

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Often there was a smell of sewage as you walked through the ship. The staff do a very good job of cleaning up the buffet areas and are always quick to clear dishes or clean up messes.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cabin size was spacious. The first and last nights were rough seas, so we heard a lot of "banging" sounds from the waves hitting the ship. Otherwise the cabins were very nice. Our room steward, Putu did a wonderful job of keeping our cabin clean.

Ship tip

Try to get "Faster to the Fun" and check back often; it gets released several times, even though it says "sold out." Have patience because there will be lines for the popular places like Mongolian Wok. Make sure to compliment the hard-working staff who do such a good job on the ship!

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

3 out of 5
It isn't a pretty port, but they did a good job of helping us on and off the ship. The porters help so much!

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
We love the options at Cozumel and especially would recommend Paradise Beach! We have gone there several times and love it! They have a lovely beach and the BEST pool ever! They have a fresh Mojito cart and they are great! We brought some backpacks full of school supplies to donate and they let us have free entrance, which we didn't expect. (It's only $3 per person to enter.) Our family of 5 ate and drank for the day, and the bill was less than $100! Very nice place to relax!

Belize City, Belize

We went to Goff's Caye with Island Marketing and went snorkeling around the barrier reef. This trip was worth the small price and gave plenty of time to relax on a small island in the Caribbean! They even provided unlimited rum-punch (which was quite strong!) Overall this was a nice place; although the cruise port is a bit rustic in appearance.

Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

5 out of 5
We enjoy this beautiful port so much! Carnival really made a wonderful beach and area here! We did the Daniel Johnson's Sloth and Monkey encounter with snorkeling - I would recommend this highly, except for the tour (it was quite boring.) Just skip the tour and enjoy the holding the sloths and monkeys.

Disembarkation

Again, our Faster to the Fun made it a really smooth experience. In the past, it took us forever to get through customs, but with FTTF, we breezed right through and were out before 11:00 am!!
