Keep your expectations low - maybe that would help. We expected what we got in the past on Princess, and this ship did not provide that.

Check to see if the cruise has tenders. On a ten day cruise 3 of our stops had tenders which is ridiculous. As we had private tours booked but takes so long to get off of ship if you do not book with princess excursions

Don't miss the made to order omelettes at the back of the ship. Talk to the crew, they are very friendly and helpful and can let you in on little things that can make your trip even better.

There were some days on sea that got rough because of 10-15 foot waves, so be sure to pack sea sickness medication if this might affect you. I have never been sea sick before, but these waves did a number on me one day and it seemed like this was typical for that part of the ocean because we were so far away from land on our way to the canal.

The passengers were mostly older senior citizens. There were several medical emergencies that required ship to arrive in Cartegena hours ahead of schedule. The medical emergencies weren't surprising considering the the number of passengers using oxygen, wheelchairs, walkers, etc. Book another cruise if you enjoy lively upbeat passengers and activities.

Caribbean Princess is an older ship she has her aches and pains. Pack the right attitude and you will have a wonderful time. Remember Life CAN always be fun, it just depends how you look at it.

We opt for standard tipping, but the one thing we always do is tip the room steward when we first meet them. We tell them that we know they will take care of us, but wanted to give them something up front. Then we ask for something in return, for example, my wife likes an extra bath towel for her hair and we never want to run out of hand lotion. With the extra tip, it was always there.

This was the first bad experience we had with Princess. In general we have high regard for this Cruise Line .However I would not recommend this particular ship.

We went for the destination. NOT the Ship. The food it great. The service is great. The beds are great. BUT, it is a small ship. Bring a book or cards because it is difficult to do shipboard activities.

Get up to sky walkers lounge at back of ship. Go there at night to check out the moon on the water.

The aft pool area has 2 sun beds on either side above the pool with the most glorious views. If you can stretch to it, do the Ultimate Ship Tour and see the workings of the ship including the bridge, galley and laundry.

Since I have not yet mentioned the International Cafe on Deck 5 in the Piazza I will do so now. Go there for freshly ground coffee, espresso, cappaccino, and breakfast donuts, croissants, muffins, small sandwiches and salads.
