Relaxing by kellyhurlburt

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Staff (except bar staff) were very friendly, food was good, older crowd aboard. Staff works very hard. Very relaxing trip. Just found a lot of rudeness from many fellow passengers.

Awesome Caribbean Cruise by DMRussell2014

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

This was our first Princess cruise. We have always sailed with Carnival. The entertainment, what there was of it was lacking. In the big theater one night was a comedian whom was great, had a young singer, he was great and the last night an amazing group of singers singing broadway songs. The only other production was horrible. Carnival has comedians almost every night and there shows are like big broadway productions. Lights and music, etc. Food wise, ehh okay. The burgers and pizza are MUCH better on carnival. This was an 8 day cruise, just felt like there should be more to do. The absolute best part for me, was the lack of kids. Carnival is over run with kids. I love kids, have 2 and a grandson, but i like peace and quiet when i vacation. There are no big water slides. I was actually able to spend time in the pool. Yes there were kids but way less. Overall we enjoyed it and yes i would cruise with Princess again.

A Great Getaway in Off Season by DaveT123

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

This was our second cruise so we tried to improve on our previous experience (also Princess), taking what we learned and tailoring what we did accordingly. We switched to anytime dining and enjoyed meeting different guests each meal. But also realized we didn't HAVE to eat in the dining room every night - sometimes got room service, other times ate meals at other venues around the ship - great variety. Cruises are a great opportunity to both try new things and completely unplug and we enjoyed doing both. Didn't succumb to temptation to "do it all". All in all a very enjoyable getaway and a little quieter since it's end of season. Two days at sea travelling to the Southern Caribbean - a good time to explore the ship and amenities. Three days at different Dutch Antilles islands - enjoyable excursions of every variety. And two days at sea coming back to Florida - settle into your routines of relaxing and enjoying the ship. We last cruised 5 years ago; some things have changed and not for the better, such as the huge push on shopping, particularly the Effie raffle events. Another annoyance was we were "comp'd" a speciality restaurant meal but they basically picked the restaurant and day/time and you couldn't change it though the literature implied you could use it anywhere. Also you need to book things like the Sanctuary as soon as you walk on the ship or you will be unable to use it at all the entire voyage.

We had a wonderful time.... by Mermanda

We had a wonderful time. We were lucky to have amazing weather for the entire 8 days. The service was amazing but the food was a huge disappointment in comparison to other cruise lines.

Great Cruise! by ColoradoKathy

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We had a wonderful time on this cruise. The islands were so much fun! Curacao was our favorite! I would recommend if you're going to Curacao, make sure you are there in the evening and eat at Dal Toro! We ate listening to music, the water crashing on the rocks and our ship within view. It really was magical! Even though the Caribbean Princess is a beautiful ship, the age group is on the upper end. I'm 55 and felt I was among the youngest there. We went to one musical show and it was so bad, we didn't go to any others. The balloon comedian was hilarious! The food was good but not great. The staff everywhere was amazing...especially Roger and Mark in the MDR! If you're young...or young at heart...I would recommend this itinerary but not this ship.

The most disappointing cruise I have been on. by vbrenckle

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

My husband and I were really looking forward to a relaxing cruise. It was anything but that. To begin: 1. the food was very sub standard. We heard many complaints. We ate at the specialty restaurant 4 times to get a good meal. Very disappointing. 2. The pool was freezing!!, I would compare the temperature to the first time time you open your pool in the springtime in New England. There was maybe 2 or 3 brave souls in the water. 3. The cruise line stated the boat was having some bnb engine issues that did not effect the safety of the ship just the speed of the ship. A few times we had to have a tug boat pull us out if port. Many people on board thought that they may have been pulling resources from other places on the ship to support the engine issue. 4. We had air conditioning in our room the first day after that it seemed warm in the room regardless how many times you turned the air conditioner down. 5. We attempted to get in the hot tub but refused to enter because of the slime on top. That was at 9 am. The fitness facility was also sub standard. There were 10 elipicals and many more treadmills. You were not allowed to use the treadmills until 10 am because there were rooms below. We would arrive at CVthe gym at 6 am and all elipicals were taken. It seems logical with bnb a ship bn of that size they would have more cardio machines other than treadmills( which no one ever seemed to be on after 10 am. I can go on and on but those are the highlights. We had a employees on the ship who were wonderful but most were rude. We were booked on the Carribean Princess in a suite on December 19th for a Christmas Cruise with 19 other people and had 15 bbn other friends booked on a November cruise. We have all cancelled our cruises and looking elsewhere. Will never cruise Princess again.

My very first cruise and... by gmanene

Sail date: /
Ship: Caribbean Princess

My very first cruise and definitely not my last with Princess. I loved every minute of the 10 day, 6 ports of call. Excellent food, service, shows, movies, decor and Skywalkers lounge. I feel I got my money's worth and then some. Had an absolute blast!!! Caribbean Princess has had a water area for kids added since I was on her so should be more kid friendly. Looking forward to cruising her again.

Very Relaxing by Kicamkel

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We did get stuck on the tender going from the port in Princess Cays back to the ship, but the crews were amazing about rescuing our stranded boat and turned out to be more entertaining than a burden to watch them attempt to pull us back to the ship. The food was good but the service was excellent! Everything went smoothly, and everything we asked for was delivered in a timely manner. We enjoyed our stay!

Princess is cutting corners, so much that in my opinion is damaging their brand. No more Princess for me. by BillieRae

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Panama Canal, Central America

Used the service where your luggage is sent ahead, worked out great and our luggage was there when we got off the plane at home airport. Didn't have to deal with luggage and got off ship and sailed through customs.

Sad by soffiekuo

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Panama Canal, Central America

The musician key bord player he discriminated me with status which he call “elite” people only . I was given dirty look by him . this was my first time cruise I didn’t have “elite” status, I believe you shouldn’t discriminate me because you don’t know my status . I am 45 years old and retired , I am ready to see my world , and here people telling me that I am not good enough to be in certain place because I am not “elite “ people ,so make me feel like I am lower class people us he categorized me... I am very sad , we had 5 people that I spend a lot of money on this trip and it was not good enough for your cruise. I never felt this much sadness in my heart and all the heart work i have done in the society become nothing . Just because other people cruise more then I did , it doesn’t make them any better people “elite “ .. what ever . Sad sad sad ... all I want was have good time but this trip turn on to be nightmare.

The Botched Anniversart Cruise by Buckrah

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Panama Canal, Central America

the ship and services were not up to standard often and my final payment for services but not delivering such as wi-fi. They made me buy a shore excursion in order to get off ship. It was a nightmare cruise and it was Princess made it that way.

Great cruise but the average age on the ship wasn’t our demographic by DianaVeitch

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Panama Canal, Central America

It would have definitely been beneficial to check on the age group have the cruisers during this time of year. This is nothing to salt the cruise line but it would’ve been nice to know going into it

Relaxing and most enjoyable Cruise by Cruises4TheWin

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Panama Canal, Central America

The market Place is 100% better than the Horizon court, and honestly, the food was better for me then it was in the main dining room! Room service is the best ever and you can add items to your breakfast menu that is left out on the door handle, and they will gladly fill your requests! This made our daily wake up call each morning very enjoyable.

Ok cruise. by Blueangel007

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Ok cruise. Stateroom need upgrade. Pool need upgrade. For the show of 7:00 pm, never place in the theatre. You can see it in distance in a bar but it not the same thing. Take this cruise to relax not activities.
