Relaxing by bmct1125

Had a great time on the cruise.  The only complaint was the windjammer.  The food was not warm and not much selection as on other ships we've been on.

Great time! by nmschrock2001

We had a wonderful time on the Brilliance of the Seas. The ship was a little older so it left a few small things to be desired but we were super impressed with the friendliness of the staff.

Very relaxing by Tiffany13

I wish there were a little more to do onboard but the comedian Steve and the singer Jesse were awesome. Dining staff were wonderful.. We had Emmanuel and titana every night.  The were so funny and entertaining. The ship is older but it was still beautiful and full of stuff to do..  I really enjoyed watching movies on the pool deck. Plus my larger oceanview room is so big and wonderful..Our cabin Stewart I meade was great!!  I will go again for a good price just so I could do more activities on the ship.. As me and my family was to lazy to do the mini golf course and rock climbing wall. Great staff, good food in the dining room, in the windjammer which is the buffet I love sitting outside on the back of the boat.

4 day cruise by bonnie187

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We had a great time on the cruise.  Really enjoyed dining at the budfet in the  Windjammer.   Adelyne was great.  She was always very happy, happy.  The excursion was fantastic, doing the underwater diving helmet, being able to touch the fish was great and the guide and divers were fantastic.

unpleasant smell by jhjaystone

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Overall the cruise experience was good.  We traveled on Royal Caribbean before.  and  enjoyed ourselves. However this time  time every time we returned to our room we had to pass through this foul stench in the hall. That made returning to  our room very unpleasant..Sad

Our first curise by mishhere

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Being this was our first cruise we didn't know quite what to expect, but we were very surprised to find out how much fun and relaxation could be found at such a reasonable price.  The only thing I would change or recommend for the cruise line would be to limit the smoking area in the Casino... that was the only negative experience of the entire trip.

Nice cruise by meley1

Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Nice cruise. However the cruise was more for the very mature audience.  The cabin was nice and our steward John was outstanding.  The customer service personnel was also fantastic.  Our cruise director Sandie Salph is FANTASTIC!  Her due diligence assisted in us having a wonderful cruise.  We'll always use Sandie as our cruise director.

Brilliance - an OK cruise by ChristineMV

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Ship very clean. On board shopping limited and extremely cramped but some fairly good deals. Cozumel has little to see but lots of little shops for souvenirs and gifts; excursion to mainland necessary if you want to see ruins. As with most cruises, everything costs extra but overall it was what I expected and enjoyable. Evening shows and entertainment worthwhile.

NIce But Boring by faste869

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

People were very nice. You lacked a lot in entertainment. Should be something going on every night on the deck. Dancing in Star Quest started to late. Food was good. Need to serve popcorn in the movies. I will take this cruise again because I like the length of it. Just need more entertainment. to dance the night away to. Should be a band on the deck sea days day and night.

Fantastic Trip by msmith598

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We departed from Boston of all places was at sea for the first three days and arrived in beautiful St Kitts. This was the first port of call on this cruise and may I say that it was the most beautiful island I have ever seen absolutely no poverty any place on the island, very friendly people and gorgeous beaches.

The ship itself is a very beautiful the staff were all so friendly and helpful. Our waiter in the main dinning room was the best he would do just about anything he could to make the cruise exactly the way you would like it. Every night the sky was the limit from shrimp cocktail to just about anything else you may have wanted. The entertainment was also very good as there was a show every night.

We go to Florida every year as we are snow birds and we usually drive down from NH but this year we took this cruise that ended up in Tampa just a short drive from our house and let me say we are going to repeat this every year as it sure beats driving.

A wonderful re-positioning cruise offered by Royal Caribbean by goobrev

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

I loved the Brilliance of the Seas ship and all of the Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines staff.  This 13 night Boston, MA to Tampa, FL cruise via the Southern Caribbean was a "great" cruise, and my wife and I loved it.  There was only one low point: the "Cook Like a Bajan" excursion that was located in Barbados.  The restaurant was at a lovely location, but the management staff were impolite and they did not honor the details of the advertised excursion (it was only worth about a third of what we paid)... but one bad apple doesn't spoil the whole bunch... I still love Royal Caribbean.

Love leaving from Boston by susan1917

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

A great cruise with an amazing crew.  Leaving from our home port of Boston is the best.  We wish there were more options to cruise from here.  Our room steward, Gerald met our every need, kept our room neat and was friendly and open with us.  We also had great service from our Waiter, Admir , his

Assistant, Tientien and the Head Waiter, Maria.  Dining was a pleasure with them and because we ate at the second seating we had lots of time to get to know them. The food was adequate but not spectacular.  The fish entrées were disappointing as they were often "fishy" tasting or overcooked. All in all, though, there were plenty of choices available. The ship was clean and easy to navigate.  We wish there had been more activities and music on the pool deck-they seemed to only offer that once we were on our way to Tampa after leaving the last island.  Everyone seemed sincerely eager to help, answer questions or find solutions to queries.  We would definitely not hesitate to travel again on RCL'S re-positioning cruise out of or into Boston!

Ports by lv2bowl

Loved the ports and pricing. A nice and relaxing cruise. Great for snowbirds.

Went with family and a friend. This cruise allowed us to spend time together yet split up and do individual things on and off ship.

It was a peaceful and relaxing cruise with some great islands to explore. Not many kids and a lot of cruising time to spend with each other, doing what ever we wanted.

Comfortable sailing by monahallinan

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

All in all our cruise was wonderful, even with an interior room.  Little problems occurred throughout the ship but not worth nit picking about.  The major problem was with the Cinema shows which filled up quickly and no one was available to tell lines of people there were no more seats. Also people sat on stairs 2 abreast and that is a fire hazard, this should be watched over. Also, a movie in Pacifica Theater, people were seated and no one advised them that the show had been cancelled

The staff, the activities and the dining were above and beyond what we imagined.  Will cruise again on Royal CaribbeanBig Smile

Brilliance of the Seas by catfishwilly

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

The ship was nice and the crew members worked very hard. The down side was the quality of the meals. We ended up going to the buffet for every meal because the food was better. In the dining room, the steaks were tough and the fish was overcooked.

Wonderful by pehlert

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

We had a fantastic time.  I would have made a few other choices I think.  First, I would have checked prices directly with Royal Caribbean to know if using Cruises Only was the best price.  Also, I would have booked my off shore excursions directly through Royal.  There were many more options available.  But once were booked, we could not change.  Other than that our accommodations were great, food was wonderful and we even had great weather.

Poor entertainment and poorly functioning toilets by jcbelt314

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

The toilets in the public areas on decks 5 & 6 worked about 30% of the trip.  Many times we had to go back to our cabin to use the toilet.  Also some problems with the toilets on deck 11 aft.  Never had a problem forward on deck 11 near Park Café.   Entertainment was truly terrible.  We saw a couple of good movies the whole week, but none of the live shows were worth the effort.  Food was not bad but nothing spectacular.  Some people don't cook so would find the food great but it just wasn't up to my standard.  Service, especially in the dining room was very good.
