Opportunity for improvement by mikedinghy

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Anthem of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Very disappointed with Soft Serve. It wasn't open at advertised times, Got in line about day 2 or 3. One nozzle was working (out of 6). It ran out before I got to head of line. Never went back. Although very irritating, I understand about "washy washy" . It was also irritating for waiters to call dessert "yummie yummie". No kids at table or within earshot. Please stop

Incredible ship with tons of activities on board by ToTheMax

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Anthem of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Modern ship with a multitude of activities, but with the high number of passengers wanting to experience them all, it was mayhem. Having 1200 kids on board made securing an activity a tedious and unfulfilling chore. Literally each and every activity that was the selling point for us was booked up for the duration of our trip.

Great staff, inconsistent food quality by Raj401

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Anthem of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

dining closing early about 9. Limited options for after show snacks just pizza. Food quality was inconsistent. The staff was phenomenal in the room. Main dining and windjammer. Service desk issue was not resolved until the 3rd time which is ridiculous. Very relaxed environment if you want high energy go to Carnival we are going back to them.

We made the best of this cruise even with dining closing early about 9. Limited options for after show snacks just pizza. Food quality was inconsistent. The staff was phenomenal in the room. Main dining and windjammer. Service desk issue was not resolved until the 3rd time which is ridiculous. Kind of low energy subdued environment Carnival is definitely more exciting and high energy.

Wonderful Vacation! by hmtahmoush

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Anthem of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Overall great experience. Just wish there was more to do for my kids who are 7 and 9. They never got to ride the bumper cars because the activity was "sold out" on the App. the entire week. I learned on the 2nd to last day that in order to get into certain activities you need to book immediately on the app for the entire week. :( that was a huge bummer. Also was not impressed with the shows. Ship was very clean and beautiful. Dinners and service in the main dining room were exceptional. Special shout out to our waitstaff - Mawinda, William and Edwin. They were amazing and really went the extra mile!!!

Beautiful Ship, Loads of Activities, Perfect Day as always in CocoCay by Cruiser59754854

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Anthem of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

We took this cruise knowing the ports of call were not the main attraction. If you are looking for a big ship with loads of activities on it, then the Anthem is a good choice. The Royal Theatre, Music Hall, and Two70 Room offered a variety of entertainment/activities throughout the cruise. The two comedians they had were hilarious. The headliner show "Frankie and the Dreamers" was beyond entertaining. They were so good we stayed to watch the second performance. We Will Rock You was spectacular. It is about two hours, but we did not want it to end. The Windjammer was better than past cruises. The crew really worked hard to keep it clean. They were quick to clear and clean tables. We had no issues finding clean tables. The crew also improved the "washy, washy." All passengers had to wash their hands before entering the Windjammer...no more just using the hand sanitizer. The self serve buffet is back, but it seemed much cleaner than in the past. The Two70 Cafe, Promenade Cafe, and Sorrento's were good places to grab a snack. I don't have as much of an issue with the Main Dining room as others probably because my expectations were not as high. I understand trying to feed a ship with over 5,000 passengers is difficult. In the past, it has been our experience the smaller ships have better food in the main dining room. I would say the food was just O.K. Nothing great but nothing bad either. Our waiter, Anthony, and assistant waiter, Huu, did an an excellent job. They went above and beyond to make sure our experience in the main dining room was excellent. Port Canaveral and Nassau are terrible ports. If you want a cruise with wonderful ports, this cruise is not for you. We did not care about the ports on this cruise. We just wanted to get away since we have not been able to cruise during the pandemic. We got a good deal and live within 2 hours of Bayonne so we jumped on the chance to take this cruise. CocaCay seems to get better and better every time we go. It is so clean and beautiful...a great place to just relax! The buffet on CocoCay was our best lunch of the week by far.

Outstanding by reginad55777545

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group

Royal Caribbean has come a long way with entertainment aboard the ship. However, the modification of the suites and the increase in the cost was very disappointing

Bahamas Coco Cay cruise by sylviacyoon

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Anthem of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

They need better Wi-Fi. Difficult to catch good Wi-Fi on the ship. I walked around everywhere to get it. I loved the covered indoor pool which I think they should have on all of their ships. I would have wished a Broadway show. BTW- please remove Cats from the other ship as this was terrible.

Spring break leads to overbooking by mfitz629

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Anthem of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

The ship is great but was so booked that we were unable to take full advantage of the costly dining package. The special activities were booked on day one so we did not get participate in the fun things the ship is known for such as number cars, I-Fly and North. We waited at Guest Sevices for a very long time just to be told that they could not help with dining or activity booking. Very disappointing.

Overall nice cruise but some disappointments by lscheid456

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Anthem of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Overall was a good cruise - I knew going in the island/ports we were going to weren't going to be the best I've been too. I went on Royal for all the extra activities on the ship but felt that the hassle of reserving and lack of availability wasn't worth the extra price. I would probably do Norwegian again and save a little money for just as nice of a cruise.

A lot left to be desired! by marc03272022

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Anthem of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This was our first cruise in over two years, and we were disappointed. Covid safeguards, especially around kids wearing masks in public areas were not enforced, and even with 1/4th of the cabins empty, the boat by design felt crowded and there were waits for most activities and events. Maybe it was Covid, but the food was only so-so, and there was limited music and other things to do during the day, especially on sea-days. I cannot highly recommend this cruise to anyone and doubt I will be on Royal Caribbean again soon or maybe ever, as I find NCL and other lines equal or better.
