Relaxing cruise..... by DeniseT2

Sail date: / Traveled as:
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Overall the ship was okay. The ship wasn't as clean as other Royal Carribean ships we have been on. Our main dining room staff was the worst we have ever had. The head waiter and waiter were inadequate. The assistant waiter was exceptional. Sanjene (the assistant waiter) should be moved to a new team in the dining room. The food was good but the menu wasn't as good as we have had on other ships.

Relaxing trip by CynthiaR2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We have returned from a September sailing of the Adventure of the Seas out of San Juan Puerto Rico and had a lovely time. The embarkment was one of the quickest and smoothes we have encountered. This was my fourth cruise and the second with Royal Caribbean. All of the help were friendly and helpful. We had difficulty with the internet and my wireless in the cabin which the kind gentleman in at the service desk handled exceptionally well. There were not argument - just a friendly help attitude and a quick resolution of the problem. I also had difficult the last night of the cruise printing my airport boarding pass for the trip home and again with no hesitation and a pleasant attitude, he quickly corrected the situation and with his helpful suggestions, I was able to complete the task with no additional charge to my card. The exercise equipment was in excellent shape and we took advantage of them quite a number of times walking and running as we viewed the ocean around us. I would have liked a little help on one of the machines but we were unable to find someone that was free to help. One time we saw one attendant but he was busy doing a consultation and we could not find anyone else around. The shows were entertaining in the theatre but what we especially liked was the Ice Show. This is something everyone should see. It is free but you need to get a ticket beforehand. We also enjoyed the music throughout the ship. We would often just wander and sit and listen to the sounds around us. I also enjoyed it from my window seat in the cabin. The excursions in the south Caribbean were excellent! We particularly liked the yacht racing in St. Martin. But be warned that you need to bring money with you especially $30.00 for the picture they take of you sailing. The colours in the photo and the clarity of the picture are unbelievable. The disembarkment was an easy task the let us sit in the promenade were we relaxed to a quartet playing and some fresh coffee. Once our section was called, the line moved quickly and the multitude of taxes was handed as efficiently as humanly possible. They do this well! All in all we had a great time and would recommend it to others.

This was a Great cruise! by RebeccaW2

Sail date: /
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

As a family of 5, and this being our first cruise experience, we were thoroughy satisfied. All staff members from our waiters to Guests Relations, were all polite and fully attentive. Rama (HeadWaiter), Franky Rodrigues (Waiter, and Gasiena (Asst. Waiter), were all so very polite, kind and informative re: all activities on the boat, as well as giving suggestions for our visits to the different Islands. It was like we were the only guests on the ship. The food was superb, and the room service, was timely when requested. The entire facility of the ship was always neat and clean, even the public rest rooms. The casual dining facilities as well as the formal dining area were packed with "great atmosphere." Finally, the arrival and departure procedures was very organized and swift...these are elements of travel that are important, and was handled quite professionally. Thank you again, for a GREAT experience!

A wonderful cruise by AnaC2

Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We recently just went on a cruise, Royal Caribbean, Adventures of the Seas. there were a group of 8 in total. My cousin had cruised this ship last year, loved it, told us about it, and we all including my cousin and her husband who shipped it last year decided to try it, for us and the others, this was our first royal caribbean, i had gone on 3 prior carnival cruise ships. i still love carnival. either or. The people working on the ship were wonderful, they made u feel great. The food and drinks were great. . We were all overwhelmed with the size of the ship and what is in it. its amazing. We try to sail out every 2 years, we cant wait for the next one. We got note of the new ship Oasis. that would be a nice one to try, I just cant believe whats in it. its amazing. We all had inside cabins do to the price but that was fine with us. all i can say, cant wait for my next one. We are an easy group to please.

FANTASTIC CRUISE by MargaretK3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

This was my 5th time crusing with Royal Carribean Overall I was very pleased with this ship. The staff was very nice and helpful. only problem was they tried to charge for items in the Mini Bar that were not used , but they quickly took the charge off. Good idea to check your charges often. In addition the breakfast in the dining room was not as good as the Wind JammerThe entertainment was not as good as on some of the other ships .

Expected Better by RobertJ11

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

This was our sixth cruise but first on RCL. This ship is huge with a lot of amenities for children. It's a beautiful ship that rides well through high seas. The staff for the most part was excellent, especially the dining room staff and the room steward. Other staff were difficult as many of them did not understand English. The entertainment was seriously lacking compared to other cruises, the headline shows were amateurish at best. Many times there was a void in the entertainment and guests were walking around looking for something to do. The food was good, but not excellent, and the offerings were only average, certainly nothing near haute cuisine. Also, there were too many "upcharges" for ship amenities. Extra cost for the Italian restaurant, extra charges for the Johnny Rockets restaurant ($5.00 milkshakes), extra charges for the Ben & Jerry Ice Cream, etc etc etc. Lot of guests felt like they were being "nickel and dimed" to death, rather have an "all-inclusive" fee up front like other cruise ships. On the plus side, with 3600 guests on board, there were never any long waits for anything. We personally wouldn't sail this particular ship again.

Much Improvement Over Last Year! by JamesM17

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We cruised on this ship ship last year and were less than happy with many things, including the housekeeping staff, food quality, the inadequate communication skills of many of the staff, and the non-friendliness of the staff in general. This year's cruise was totally different and greatly improved in all of these areas and very much welcome! We enjoyed our cruise very much.

Simply Wonderful!!! by SharonH5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The ship was clean and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was roomy and had good light. The towel animals were empressive. The balcony off of our room was wonderful! The ports of calls were fun and we had plently of time to do what we wanted off the ship. Entertainment was fun on board the ship. Always something to do. We were honeymooning and the ship offered a honeymooners night. Absolutely beautiful! The midnight buffet - to die for. The only down side I thought was that the ship did not sell or offer any personal necessities. If you forgot it - too bad!! We will definitely be going again!!

Very Nice Cruise by RobH5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

This was our 14th cruise. We have cruised with several cruise lines, but have cruised 7 times with Royal Caribbean. We were most impressed with the service in all areas. The ship layout was elegant and easy to navigate. People who experience motion sickness will like the ride of this ship as you rarely felt the motion of the ocean. There were many activities for all age groups. Four pools with one just for adults. Evening entertainment was good. Best cruise director of all the cruises we've been on. Very entertaining. Evening dinners were very good. Lunch in the Windjammer good, but not outstanding. The service in the Windjammer, however was outstanding. The southern Caribbean is our favorite destination. We enjoyed the ports of call. We would highly recommend this cruise.

First Cruise - WOW!! by KimG11

Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

I took my mom for a mother-daughter get-a-way. We had the best vacation ever. From the moment we stepped on the ship, we were so impressed with the staff. Not once did a crew member pass without smiling and giving a greeting. The service was superb. I loved out waiter and the food was wonderful. Everyone goes the extra mile to make sure you are having a great time. I can't wait to sail again on this beautiful ship.

AOS - Southern Caribbean - 06/08/08 by JayS3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We recently sailed on the Adventure of the Seas and Royal Caribbean for the first time, and all I can say is "Wow!". The ship is very large, and we had no idea what to expect. Great restaurants, a fantastic pool areas, skating rink, rock wall climbing, casino and a nightclub. We really like Royal Caribbean's style, service, and the Adventure did not disappoint. The Windjammer buffet really isn't a "buffet" anymore, now it's like a cool marketplace/food court with many more choices, stations you can approach from all sides (so no endless line!). Very wide-open and airy feeling, a huge step up from the typical ship buffet. We loved all the nightlife options and especially the night shows in The Lyric (we went to all of them). Felt like a totally different night out, every single night. The new Seattle's Best coffee shop and the new Ben and Jerry's didn't hurt, either! The ship features are most we've seen (we have sailed on NCL and Carnival, and this blows them away) Our stateroom was cozy and had some new features (really liked the new shower 'door" vs the old curtains which always got the floor soaked). Lots of new storage elements have been aded, easy to unpack and fell like there was a place for everything. Overall we have to say the ship was really impressive, the staff was wonderful as always, and even if you've sailed on Adventure before, she's worth a second look.
