Nice Cruise by jrossi

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Overall, we had a good time on Adventure of the Seas. However, we were disappointed with a few things.

1. There were upcharges for a lot of items including soft drinks.

2. Too much emphasis on shopping from Royal.

3. The service was great but the food was average.

4. The drinks were weak for the price.

5. Restaurant selection was weak for such a big ship.

6. We could never figure out why the lighting in the main dining room was so bright, which wasn't good for atmosphere.

Excellent Food by jehlv1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The dining room food and staff were all excellent never had a bad meal. The chefs table if worth the $75.00 per person for the wine experience alone. The ship was on time and punctual at every stop . The only two complaints are they seemed understaffed at times during peak times. The handicap room we had was beat down and had stains on the carpet and was dirty. The room attendant was lacking we had to ask daily for water refills sometimes 2 or 3 times. Other than that the trip was a huge success. Royal ships have the friendliest staff but need to show that same focus on their cleaning skills and taking care of the small stuff as well.Happy

Great cruise, great service! by michellezhaostu

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We had a great time on the cruise! The food was amazing, you can order whatever you like from the dinner menu and everything we tried was delicious. The table assistants were very friendly and were very helpful introducing food and cruise. They can speak different languages based on the need ( Special thanks to Jiying Zhang, she was very friendly and provided great service for us!) View from the cabin was gorgeous, the staff cleaned the cabin several times a day and left us some lovely surprises each time.Internet was a little slow but you can browse webpages for sure. There were a lot of onboard activities. It was a pleasure to spent 7 days on this cruise.

Adventure of the Seas by macmoni03

The only part of this particular ship that could use some much needed improvement is the Windjammer. The food was not good and they kept serving the same foods every day.

RCCL Adventure of the Seas Review by Cruiser472

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The experience was a very pleasant one. It far exceeded my expectations. There was something for seasoned cruise-lovers and for first-time cruisers alike. I really liked the "Wash Your Hands" campaign on the ship's TV and the friendly reminders in the public toilets on board.

First Cruise by Qholic

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The Adventure is older and shows some signs of wear. Our Junior Suite was spacious and our cabin attendant O’Neal was very thorough and made sure we had anything that we asked for. My only accommodation complaints are that room service totally blew us off one morning and we did not have time to call and wait for service. The other complaint is with the laundry and it is twofold (pun intended) was that there was a special for 20% off which was worded to mislead you that all laundry services were 20% off when in fact only pressing was discounted. Then to top it off they messed up and charged me more than 30$ more than what the normal wash and fold price should have been; luckily I caught this on the bill and had it rectified.

The food in the Windjammer and the main dining rooms were average buffet food; quite frankly Golden Coral is better. We did dine at Giovanni's Table one night and the food and the service was excellent. We also did the Chef's Table, great concept; execution by the cruise line not the greatest. We were in a private but open area in the main dining area which made it hard to hear the Chef or the Waiter/Sommelier's explanations. The food was excellent however, the menu and the wine pairings were not picked by the Chef and Sommelier but came from corporate; which took away from concept of this being created by the Chef himself. We also ate once at Johnny Rocket's which is the only other specialty food venue on this ship. The burgers and onion rings were very good but why am I paying $6.95 for a "better" burger? This level of food should be the norm throughout the ship; sadly it's not.

We did not go and see any of the shows we did however, spend out evenings in the Duck and Dog Pub. The bartenders were some of the best bartenders and some of the best people that I have ever met. For entertainment Derek Lewis was funny, engaging, and entertaining. The Duck and Dog was the most fun to be had on the ship.

We only took one ship sponsored excursion and that was the catamaran sail with lobster lunch. The beaches, crew and the lunch were well worth the price!

Will we cruise again? Probably but on a newer ship and possibly another cruise line.

I would like to add that our cruise consultant Angela Dawson was awesome.

Don't expect quality by Unhappycruseman

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

To list out all the cons and pros would take all day if. The pros that I can list is after about halfway through the cruise the staff was a tuned to what your needs were but other than that I can only see that as a positive everything else just seemed subpar and I did not receive my moneys worth for this cruise line.  To name a few of the major cons I would have to say the food service should not take more than an hour to receive room service should not be delivering cold and stale food. When in the main dining room it should not take 15 minutes to receive your drink orders. The drink packages are unbalanced and it is cheaper just to buy the expensive drinks by themselves if you are not a big drinker. I had to waste part of my days getting charges that I did not incur removed from my room portfolio. I paid for the upgraded rooms and views and could not Enjoy most of those features because of dirty windows and uncomfortable sleeping arrangements. The list of cons goes on and on and on

Great cruise for the price and lots of great destinations by coussens

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

If you like going ashore and taking excursions, this is a great cruise for you.  Lots of stops with only one day causing at sea.  If you are the sort that likes the quite of the ship when most are gone ashore, this is also a great choice.  If you prefer cruising days at sea, look elsewhere.  The RCCL staff is over the top wonderful and tends to you every need in a kind, friendly, and courteous manner.  Food was fabulous and the dining staff were great.  In St. Thomas, Sapphire bay and Megan's bay are very nice, but the ferry to St. John Island is well worth a look, check out Trunk Bay.  St Lucia is also great, though we did not take a paid excursion, we explored on our own and taxied to Pigeon Point.  Great beach, but sad to see the plastic everywhere while snorkeling.  Grenada is a very pretty island with lots to see and do, we chose adventure tubing and were thrilled, though the ride there was pretty long.  Overall a great cruise for the money.

food not not so terrific by haifengsong2003

If you like the snorkling, diving and spend time at the beach, this is a correct cruise for you. I did not swim, snorkeling and diving. So I had a lot of extra time on the island.

feedback from Cynthia James by cynthiajames

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The cruise for the most part was great. I would have liked to see more food selections for vegetarians in the WindJammer  but we had amazing servers for our dinners. The room was clean and the ship for the most part was always very clean. This was the smallest cruise ship I have been on so the entertainment wasn't as much as I am use too. I wasn't pleased that we could use our spa credit on the day we are at sea.

food and shows poor by mjp1333

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

First time on Royal  Carribbean cruise and will not book again.

Room was standard cruise size and  the room service person was great but that where  it ends. Food in buffet was always cold or lukewarm at best. Regular dining room food was mediocre. Service in restaurants was ok nothing spectacular. Shows on board were like watching Americas got Talent some ok others like circus acts. Not what I expected  on a cruise ship. Have cruised on Norweign several times in the past and will stick with them I have seen wonderful  Broadway shows and the food is always hot. This was an anniversary cruise  on Royal Carribbean  and I was so disappointed .

Adventures of the Sea review by haynespa

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

overall I enjoyed the cruise, however, the menu at the 24 hour snack area should be changed daily.  Many of the items were too breaded  leaving food  choices to a minimum. I also feel the entertainment in the disco area (Jesters) need to be open earlier to provide entertainment for those who are elected for the early dinner.  I also believed it was too much catering to  Hispanics and not other ethnic groups.

Great cruise; bad follow-up by torichan2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

For the cruise itself, I was very pleased with the experience. There were lots of activities, the food was great, and the ports we visited were amazing. I felt feeling great. The next day, however, I noticed a charge on my credit card. I had settled my balance with cash, so I immediately called RC to find out what was going on. The customer service rep. assured me it was simply a hold on my account because that had been the credit card on file. He told me to wait a few days and the hold would drop. I waited a week and still saw the charge. I called my bank and they confirmed it was a sales transaction, not a hold. Now I have had to file a dispute over the charge. Such an unfortunate ending to an otherwise great experience.

Adventure on Adventure of the Seas by kdhollosy

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We enjoyed the ports of call. However the ship is in need of a facelift. There was only one specialty restaurant on the ship and our room was very 'musty' smelling. Due my allergies I went home sick. The balcony had a lot of rust spots. The overall condition of the ship was ok but I would not return to this ship until after it is dry docked in Oct 2016.

Running on the cheap by bobw2bsandg

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We have sailed several times with RC. Most ever time the ships met or exceeded our expectations. The Adventure is going in for a complete overhaul next Oct. and it needs it. Staff was excellent but food was cut rate. They ran out of several items, yogurt machine was broken or not in use for several days.

We felt like we were on a discount cruise.

Cruise director was a joke, she only wanted to hear herself talk.

Our second Royal cruise by bariouf

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

This was our second cruise with Royal and will be our only cruise line in the future. Our first four cruises were all with different lines Royal being one of them. The other line just didn't meet the standards of Royal, wish we had stayed with Royal earlier.

This cruise was excellent! The entire staff was superb especially our stateroom attendant and our waiter and his assistant.

Great itinerary l by KT17

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

this particular cruise offered a great itinerary. The staff was excellent and offered some good deals. However, the food wasn't that great and there wasn't much variety. If you wanted a simple chicken breast you were out of luck. The buffet was a bunch of mystery dishes. The dining room food was ok but Carnival offered more variety and better quality than Royal Caribbean. I will probably book with a different cruise line next time. They also canceled the 2 onboard activities I showed up to because they didn't have enough people so I didn't waste my time going again.
