Operational chaos, beautiful ship by ASIAngela

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Coastal - West Coast

Beautiful ship mainly nice staff but NCL need a lesson in how to schedule a cruise like this. I would 100% not recommend this itinerary as NCL are not organised at all for an out of the routine itinerary. Ship sat in the middle of the sea until we got to start boarding at 7pm, took until 10pm to get on. Muster drill at 11pm. Port in Vancouver cannot handle 4000 arriving at once. NCL could of avoided this by booking the Bliss a berth earlier before the other cruise company's book theirs. To then cancel Seattle as we boarded despite us finding out that it had been cancelled days before from a taxi driver on Vancouver island wasnt great. We got some rediculious excuse it was due to US immigration So then when we arrive in San Francisco and it takes 5 hours to clear us all. Total fail on NCL part. Their scheduling department need the sack, they have failed at every opportunity.

Disappointing NCL Bliss Cruise by hdolen

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Coastal - West Coast

Embarkation and muster drill were terrible. The ship was beautiful, but many venues were closed or packed. Not enough elevators. Staff was great. Food quality excellent with ample variety. Entertainment was top notch.

Great first cruise! by 40pinklady

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Star Princess / Destination: Coastal - West Coast

This was our first cruise and now we are excited for the next one which will be to Alaska. The minute we got on ship we were "on vacation" to the minute we left. Every thing and everyone was over the top more than I could of imagined. Thank you, until next time.

Small dated Ship. by rogue12

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Star Princess / Destination: Coastal - West Coast

It was a small ship. Small cabin. Smelled like a sewage dump on deck 12 while in SanFrancisco. Dumping the holding tanks I guess.

West Coast Cruise by skoolmom

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Star Princess / Destination: Coastal - West Coast

This was a great get away for us because we didn't need to fly anywhere. Many people on this cruise were from Washington which made Seattle a great port. All the ports were great walking cities and you didn't need to book an excursion to have fun. The weather was good. There was no rain the entire week and we went from cold in Seattle and Astoria to warmer in San Francisco and Monterey. There were some younger people on this cruise, but the majority were at retirement age. Very few children were on this cruise. Princess does not have all the water slides, and activities you will find on Carnival or RC, but that's nice for making this a relaxing time. The food and service is exceptional.

Pacific Northwest Cruise by taznremmy

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Star Princess / Destination: Coastal - West Coast

The crew and staff on the Star Princess are what made it so special. They seem to really like their jobs, and each other, and it showed. Look forward to sailing on her again soon.

Relaxing little cruise! by Mike547

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Coral Princess / Destination: Coastal - West Coast

A nice getaway and having one port makes it a bit more interesting than a repositioning cruise. If you are interested in seeing if cruising is for you this is a nice itinerary to try.

This was a nice relaxing cruise. The ports of call were interesting and we loved the excursions we took to Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, and the beautiful Butchart Gardens.

Cattle ship coastal cruise by cymathie

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Ruby Princess / Destination: Coastal - West Coast

I was really disappointed with this cruise from embarkation until disembarkation. I’ve been on the Ruby before and totally enjoyed it but this was more like a cattle ship cruise. Waiters were either new or unfriendly. Dining room was noisy and slow so we went up to the Lido, which was mediocre at best. Service was very poor. I have two more cruises with Princess booked, one out of Quebec and the other a world cruise, but if the Quebec Cruise is like this one I’m cancelling the World cruise. I pity the people who continued on the Hawaii and Australia.

Overall very disappointed by Lorenemc8

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Coastal - West Coast

Overall disappointing. And the way the mishap with the oil spill and resulting travel delay was handled is this far awful. As a result, may never go on this line again!

Not so Alaskan by DKKK

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Island Princess / Destination: U.S. - Pacific, Northwest

The ship left port 11 hours late due to maintenance, because of late departure Juneau was cut from itinerary. I do not think we were fairly compensated for loss of the opportunity to visit Juneau. The cruise was sold as an Alaskan Sampler , but we spent very little time in Alaska , seems a little misleading. I don’t plan on using Princess in the future.

Disappointing by firstglacier

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Island Princess / Destination: U.S. - Pacific, Northwest

We had been planning this cruise for a year and the excursions we planned on taking were extremely important to us. We felt this was a once in a lifetime vacation. The cruise would have been fine if we had been able to do what we had planned. This has colored our impression of the cruise line and the handling of this incident.

Buyer Beware by vee1975

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Island Princess / Destination: U.S. - Pacific, Northwest

We were beyond disappointed with our Island Princess cruise experience. We booked an Alaska Sampler vacation for our honeymoon which sailed out of Vancouver. We were supposed to visit two ports – Juneau and Ketchican. Even before we left, the cruise ship was experiencing mechanical difficulties associated with the speed it could travel. This resulted in a 10 hour delay before sailing. We were then told that the ship wouldn’t be able to sail to Juneau – the one port most of us were looking forward to (e.g. whale watching, glaciers). Instead of asking customers if they wanted a refund, they diverted us to Prince Rupert, BC which means our Alaskan cruise only had 1 port in Alaska and two in BC! To top it off, they were not able to provide many excursions in Prince Rupert, which meant most of us were forced to spend the day walking around aimlessly – the nearest attraction being the local Walmart. The “compensation” all of us received was a $100 credit and 15% towards a future vacation (as if we would sail with this company again). Beware! The sign of a good company is not how they treat you when things are going well – it’s how they handle difficult situations such as the one we experienced. While we will certainly cruise again, we will NEVER AGAIN give our business to Princess (or their parent company Carnival Cruises).

Worst Cruise Ever by joeroz24

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Island Princess / Destination: U.S. - Pacific, Northwest

Worst Alaskan cruise ever. Didn’t visit the main port of Juneau, which was where we had planned excursions. They added an additional port in Canada. You can say we were on a Canada cruise and that wasn’t what I chose. Very disappointed won’t sail Princess again.
