Just pick a different ship. The Solstice should be taken out of service until refurbishment

Wonderful North Pacific crossing by mohanpherwani86

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Silver Nova

It was relaxing cruise. Co-passengers were friendly. Perhaps food choices could be improved as menu is changed once in three days.

Great Cruise Itinerary by chacelgil

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Westerdam

If you are cruising because of the itinerary like I was, (Japan is awesome) you can deal with the short comings of the ship like I did.

Carnival cuts corners by betsyrieken

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Panorama

Carnival is cutting corners. People are encouraged to eat just two meals. Breakfast replaced with "Brunch". Premium dishes cost extra, bad coffee, and so it goes. But all the cruise lines are doing this. Just more so for Carnival.

Pushing rope uphill by aitara2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Royal Princess

Pristine nature and our smokey ship polluting the air. The heavy brown cloud followed us blocking views and even sighting of the aurora.

So-so by EdandJudy

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Edge

Unfortunately, I was very disappointed overall. I thought the food was so mediocre, the music too loud… Hip-hop at the pool every day. How about some Frank Sinatra or John Denver or something more relevant to the age group

A wonderful itinerary, helped by perfect weather by stpaulspot

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Azamara Onward

I would say that I had a great cruise, despite of, rather than because of, Azamara. It attracts friendly, diverse passengers, and i like the scale of the ship. the staff is wonderful (although obviously feeling very stressed by increased sanitation provisions) One disapointment - increasing stratification of passenger experiences according to cabin type. And the world cruisers were given so much attention, it detracted from the services available to normal passengers.

Alaska and Japan cruise by mkvakil

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Jewel

Internet service very poorly handled with never heard excuses and explanations. $50 onboard spending credits for missing two major north Japan ports is completely unacceptable. Purpose of cruise was to see fall color changing in North Japan. It’s like flights canceled but we will give you $50 onboard spending but you have to pay another flight and go there, we don’t care how much you pay. It’s not our business.

A high seas adventure by rgendrol

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Westerdam

I like HAL it was a great trip. Despite what I mentioned previously in my survey, I will continue to travel on HAL. The food, staff and concerns of safety were wonderful. Kodiak was a jewel in itself. Alaska is a beautiful state with the friendliest people. HAL is a relaxing cruise line without the bigness, hype and money pinching aspects of some other cruise lines. The whole experience has me dreaming of doing another trans paciif of antlantic crossing again in the future. I hope HAL does not cut back services like Royal Caribbean is doing. I understand the pandemic stuff but ok, if that is the case; why is RCCL bragging about new ships and cutting passengers services at the same time? A pointed question that they do not want to answer. I hope HAL avoids this path.

Very rough with Covid at the end. by judithrwalsh

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends

This cruise was disappointing. I understand having to make changes due to the weather, but there were other aspects of the cruise that did not meet my expectations.

18 day cruise in South Pacific by bernaise57

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Eclipse

Good cruise overall . Two of stops were below average — bay of islands and Raitea. Ship showing it age and probably needs to be redesigned . Best entertainment on any cruise ship I ever been on — and get the premium drink package

Wonderful and unforgettable trip by kuekawa

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Diamond Princess

It was a great long trip, but it was so worth the investment. Disappointed that the weather and the sea condition did not allow us to get to Mauii and Saipan. Japan was so incredibly beautiful to look at from the ocean. The staff members were excellent. I wish we coukd do this again. We used this travel to move back to Japan. The staff communicated with us very well about our special situation of how my wife was entering Japan on the Spouse Visa. The Kobe custum office already knew anout us and treated us well and quickly.

Polynesia and down under fun by rcederholm

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Ovation of the Seas / Destination: Transpacific

We love long cruises with sea days and the quantum class is a perfect ship for this. We were disappointed that Bora Bora was cancelled but the extra day in Moreea was excellent. We loved all three New Zealand stops and sailing in to Sydney was amazing.

Transpacific cruise, once in a lifetime.. by ontariotraveler

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Splendor / Destination: Transpacific

If offered again definitely think going on this itinerary. Lots of long sea days, but the ports were something you don't find on the average cruise.
