Ship: Carnival Panorama

Cabin type: Inside

Cabin number: 2284

Review summary

Carnival is cutting corners. People are encouraged to eat just two meals. Breakfast replaced with "Brunch". Premium dishes cost extra, bad coffee, and so it goes. But all the cruise lines are doing this. Just more so for Carnival.

Embarkation

Okay.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Food in main dining room was good. Chicken and Beef too tough. Fish was fine. Coffee worse than usual. Sugar-free desserts were better than cruise lines.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Fitness center crowded on this trip. Very popular.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Shouting is becoming the norm for singing. A little subtlety would help. (Ear plugs were suggested.)

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
They were all great.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Pretty much as expected.

Cabin / Stateroom

Seemed organized but actually we were called to depart much too early. Stood out in sun 2.5 hours waiting for taxi.

I’m sorry you misunderstood what seaday brunch is. You can definitely have an early breakfast as well as a brunch and a lunch and dinner. Carnival has never limited how many meals you can enjoy. On longer cruises they switch between breakfast and brunch in the MDR every other day to offer more options. You may have not understood this either.

I have a genius solution. Go to seaday brunch early for breakfast and then go back again for lunch and order something different. Your brain will be like WHAAAAA???

Brunch has nothing to do with cutting corners, it's become extremely popular and mainstream trendy on-land across every suburb in America. Carnival still offers 3 traditional meals per day if you prefer, along with endless snacking opportunities.

Wow those sea days back and forth, twice, to Japan must have been amazing!
