If we ever go to hawaii again I would fly . THe cuise was nice but we spent to much time abord the ship and not enough time in port. the excrsions were too rushed and the time in port is way too short. Im not the only passanger that thought so.

What a great way to see Hawaii! by rileyswa

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Pride of America / Destination: Hawaii

This is not a party cruise. This is not a teenager or lots of family/kids cruise. It was in February, we are in our 50's and we were "young" onboard, but it was a terrific cruise all around and it was really a pleasure. We plan to bring "grandma!" back next year to sail with us and it was such a pleasure to have a calm, peaceful relaxing pool area (secret: We NEVER had to fight for a deck chair!) area to enjoy daily. Will definitely be back again. Like the crew/staff are well paid, well, tipped, well taken care of as this is an American registry ship. NCL Should be PROUD of it's Pride of America!

Enjoyed Our Cruise by texshell

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Pride of America / Destination: Hawaii

Overall I found it to be a nice ship, not over the top like some but very adequate. Easy to navigate around and found the crew to be wonderful.

Wonderful Hawaiian Cruise by nflink1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Pride of America / Destination: Hawaii

I enjoyed this cruise around the Hawaiian Islands. It gave us a wonderful overview of all of them and now we will be best able to decide which island we will go back to.

Pride of America Hawaiian Cruise February 3 - 10 2018 by paul9250610

Ship: Pride of America / Destination: Hawaii

First cruise ever. Many excellent things but the food was only average and the price for drinks was expensive and not worth the money.

Basic cruise in Amazing Hawaii Islands. Poor crew staff, poor food, boring and old cruise. Frustrating!

Outstanding way to see the Hawaiian Islands without packing and unpacking. by lskoontz

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Pride of America / Destination: Hawaii

We enjoyed our cruise and were very pleased with the experience, the perks, amenities and staff. If you are planning a cruise, upgrade to a suite. Well worth the price.

Terrific cruise to Hawaii and Mexico! by cbtrue

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grand Princess / Destination: Hawaii

What I had hoped would be a relaxing cruise turned out to be a bit different because of the need to be early for everything. However, we had fun and learned to play the ukelele! I would not go on this particular cruise again. I would want to be in Hawaii (and Mexico) longer so we could see more.

Hawaiian Islands by sdharris99

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Pride of America / Destination: Hawaii

It was really not what we were expecting, but it was a great way to see parts of the other islands. Would consider doing it again with a newer ship and more to offer in the evenings when not in port.

Holland America is now mundane and bottom-line cheap. by llghere333

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Oosterdam / Destination: Hawaii

This was our 59th cruise. Holland America was the Grand Dame of cruise ships up until a new president was installed 3 years ago. They are now a cheap cruise with serious crew cutbacks and elimination of amenities. Obvious emphasis is on bottom-line profit and less on passenger comfort and attention to the little things. They were once our number one favorite because of their appeal to older passengers and sedate amenities. Today, in our minds, they rank fifth along with Carnival by trying to appeal across the board to everyone and in the process have lost their branding. All of this was confirmed with fellow passengers who said they were disgusted with the decline in the Grande Dame and their lack of attention to the small things.

Pride of America was a great way to see all the islands. by jenniemo

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Pride of America / Destination: Hawaii

Pride of America was a great way to see many of the islands. The stateroom and bathroom were smaller than cabins on the new ships. All in all this was a good cruise.

Great trip, despite poor food by bjj1954

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Pride of America / Destination: Hawaii

The cruise ports of call and timeframe is great. If you count food quality as being a huge part of your trip, I would think twice. Food and beverage is not a strong point of this ship. If you are looking for a comfortable floating hotel to take you to great spots, this cruise will fulfill your need

Hawaiian Holiday by silverfox928

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Star Princess / Destination: Hawaii

Overall we enjoyed the ship, the venues, the staff and especially the multi-day cruising itinerary. The specialty restaurants are always good; however, because we needed to change a few reservations due to illness, we found their system seemed to lack coordination.

Great Overall Cruise for Family Vacation by WunFamily

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Star Princess / Destination: Hawaii

The freshness and choice of cuisines for food was the best part of the experience. The ship staff has very diverse group from many countries which can be challenging to communicate. Entertainment program needs improvement since they were more geared toward older generations than focusing on entertaining audience with different age, more current materials and variety of international flare.

Not What I Hoped For by servant20202

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Grand Princess / Destination: Hawaii

Hawaii was good. But a bit too commercial. I wish I had come years earlier. The history was good. A couple of the tour guides weren't all that nice but ... So sorry we couldn't have arrived earlier in Ensenada. The hotel we visited had a lot of history.

Great Itinerary! by rerank

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Pride of America / Destination: Hawaii

Norwegian's staff are friendly. The cabins are very small and our family had 5 balcony cabins together but the staff was not allowed to open the balcony doors so we could enjoy time together - we have enjoyed that feature on other family cruises we have taken. The food is okay but not as good as some cruise lines. It was a fun family time but we will try to avoid using Norwegian in the future unless things are improved.
