The service was acceptable but nothing outstanding. The butlers did not live up to the standard of services we have received on other cruise lines.

Ship Quality

The maintenance crew worked on pool steps from level 12 to level 13 for 2 days. We choose to stay and relax in our cabin on one of these days and the noise was ridiculous. There were saws, sanders, grinders and other loud equipment which ruined our day. We complained to our concierge about 4:15 pm but the noise continued to 6:30 pm. That level of maintenance should be done when no passengers are on the ship!

Cabin / Stateroom

We were shocked when we walked into our suite. The woodwork throughout was worn on the sides of the drawer units. The leatherette fabric was peeling off the front of the chair seat cushion and the bench at the end of the bed was a disgrace, it was old, cracked and deteriorating and completely unacceptable. We pointed out the condition of the suite to our butler, but nothing was done. In addition, the bathroom had an odor that was masked by air fresheners which did not help.

Ship tip

A good way to see the islands, but don't expect the ship to be top of the line.

We Love POA. We've sailed her twice now and love everything about her. Don't let the negative review distract future cruisers considering this itinerary.

We were recently on POA and had no issues. Food was excellent and had two of the best waiters. Room steward was always on the mark and kept cabin clean. If small minor things like a scuff on a bench or other minor things bothered you then maybe you need to cruise on a ship that is brand spanking new and you are the only one on board! Obviously if you can afford a suite and butler then maybe try a different cruise line!! Seriously, some people just have to find something to complain about.

It is unfortunate the furniture was not up to standards but as I'm sure you know, your Butler could not fix or replace it during your cruise. It's good that you pointed it out. If enough people find it unsatisfactory, perhaps it will get fixed sooner. It's good to hear the maintenance crew is working hard to keep the ship safe and nice. The ship has passengers every day so maintenance like repairs to steps cannot wait like a scuff on the side of a drawer can. If they did put it off, just think of the complaints. Best to just hang out on a different part of the ship from the noisey repairs.
