If we ever go to hawaii again I would fly . THe cuise was nice but we spent to much time abord the ship and not enough time in port. the excrsions were too rushed and the time in port is way too short. Im not the only passanger that thought so.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Gettng on the ship was better than some of the other cruises e have gne on. I think f you arive early and have your luggage checked they should let you abord sooner rather than on hw many cruises you have taken wth princess .Or how much you haved paid for your room
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
the dinning rooms were good the service was excelent, the food was good The only problem we had was when they served steak they were tough and full of grisle . the broiled lobster was over cooked and even burned to the point of charcoal the buffets were good they had a nice selection of food but the seating space was limited. If the weather would have been beterthis would not have been a problem.
Onboard Activities

the music at the wheelhouse bar was very good.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
the ships enterainment was very good the had singers dancers and ventriliquest that put on some excelent shows. The Hawaian couple who taught ukuali and dance and sang and played all kinds of music were wonderfull.

Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The ship is older the stewarts were very good the ship was clean . there was a problem with water leaks in the pasageways . the restrooms were hard to find.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Our cabin was good, clean, and the bed was comfortable. For a fifteen day cruise we needed a larger closet space and a few more drawers. The shower control was confusing at first but we ot used to them.A single handle would be better.
Ship tip
If you go to hawaii on the grand princess avoid the cruise tours and do your own tours
We liked Honolulu we did two tours. the trip to pearl harbor and the Luau. the tour to the punch bowl was a quick bus ride around and out. the tour to the Missori was a very quic partial our only saw part of the sip andd to leave to see the Airizona Memoral the boat took us to the Airizona and we were rushed off in about 5 minutes. did not see th museam or get any thing to eat. The Luau we went to was not very good. the show was alright but the food was not any better thanwe could have got on the ship.
We liked Maui had dinner on shore .and toured Lahaina shoping district. was fun and the town was cuite. The time was way to short. and the tender ride was to long would like to see the rest of the island.
I agree with will work...if you do not love sea days this is not the cruise for you...if you wish to spend time on the beach or looking into the books and crannies of a city...then cruising in general is not for you...but for me...cruising is the best. Bang for the buck for my relaxation ...will and I will continue to cruise through life one port at s time
You are correct, this iteneary is not for everyone. If you don't like sea days you will not like this. I happen to love this cruise. I get several days to destress on the way there then several days to rest on the way back.
The time in ports are as long or longer than many iteneraries since it is a short hop to the next island. You do need to not try to do too much in a port though. Good reason to come back. I would love a week on each island sometime though.
