Fantastic!! by SandraS9

Ship: Voyager of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

This was my very first cruise and I can't wait for the next one. Hopefully it will be with the same crew. This crew was always pleasant, smiling and very professional. Made me feel like the only guest on the cruise. The Voyager of the Seas is elegant and sometimes I would forget that I was sailing. As Captain Frank put it, "Almost no motion on the ocean". The absolutely best food I have ever had the pleasure to eat. Shops have some very fine products at very reasonable prices. Fantastic shows every night. I am telling everyone I know that they should book the Voyager of the Seas for their next cruise. I can't find enough words to describe how perfect my first cruise was. Anxiously waiting my second.

Nice Cruise by ClaudioG

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Celebrity Century / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

The experience was pretty good. However a couple of things to be aware of:First the staterooms are too small for 3 people. The third person has to be able to climb steps to get to a bunk bed. This is better for a child. We did not have a balcony ,next time I would reccommend a balcony since window can not be opened. The room can be very confining. This is a fast paced cruise if you want to visit the cities from the port. You should reasonably fit. There is a lot of walking.Overall the experience was good ,however I prefer to stay at a hotel next time too spend more quality time in the city I am visiting.

A great experience by DebK3

Ship: Costa Magica / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

The staff was very friendly, helpful and efficient. The ship was very clean and our cabin was always picked up and cleaned several times a day. Passengers were mostly european and they made people watching fun. The Italians especially are so exuberant about everything. The staff was proficient in communicating in several languages.

Avoid Costa Cruiselines for Europe by JohnP28

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Costa Magica / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

The ship itself is fine, the decor a little over the top, but the service and staff are just terrible. Don't make the mistake I did choosing Costa Cruiselines

The MSC Lirica was fabulous! by KarenG9

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Lirica / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

We recently sailed the MSC Lirica from Citivecchia on a Western Mediterrean cruise. The boat was clean, the staff welcoming and a different show every night for entertainment. This was our first cruise ever and it was exciting just trying to figure out which restaurant we would eat at next. Not many folks from the USA on board and English not the primary language, however, the staff was fluent in at least four languages, including English. It was easy to get on and off the boat when the ship ported and information was easy to obtain about local interests. I loved it so much that I am already planning a Baltic Cruise for next year... during the warm months. Obviously I would cruise again... a good value and well worth the time and money.

Nice Cruise by CliffH96703646

They hit you at the end with a mandatory $20/day tip fee. And Drinks are very expensive, you can't bring your own on board

Norweigan Gem - Nice trip by SteveB4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Gem / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

The ship's check in was smooth and we were on within 30 minutes. Our room (mini suite) was nice and the ship was laid out well with nice public areas. The casino was fun, pool was great. Only a few things could make it better for our experience. Live music by the pool was so loud - no one could hear eachother speak. Some of the speciality restaurants weren't worth it. Le Bistro and Teppenyaki were the exceptions - very good. Disembarkation was a nightmare - reception had no idea on how to explain it to you. We had no checked luggage, so they were struggling with how to catch the bus to the airport. That was a free for all - no bus reservations, busses leaving an hour late. Its too bad that's the way it ended but it did. Not sure why you can't reserve a bus seat. Would make it so much easier.

A Luxurious family Cruise by MuhannadJ

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Gem / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

It is a brand new great comfortable ship. The service quality, the staff, the food are all excellent. The Garden villa we stayed in, is better than any 5 stars hotel in Europe or the Middle East, The Garde villa came with a private very experienced and pleasent concierge and buttler. This made a huge difference. We felt that we were cruising in a private Yacht. If you can afford this luxury dont settle for anything else. The major disadvantage was the crowd on the ship they were many kids that were very loud and messy. The ship had a great gym but unfortunatly they allowed kids below 14 to ply around and there wasnt much supervision, they made the gym visit not comfortable and very noisy.

Wonderful ports by JenH4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Costa Concordia (RETIRED) 548 / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

The ship was beautiful. It was difficult at times to get out point across as it was pretty much an italian speaking vacation. I have cruised many times before and felt this ship lacked the activity schedule of fun. It was just limited. The food was good, but lacked variety. I was looking for the delicious italian desserts, and they just weren't there. Crew and staff were friendly, but be prepared with everything except a blow dryer for in yor cabin. The ports were all wonderful. I liked that we had a stop everyday, however some port days were not long enough.

It was a pleasant cruise. by ChelseaT

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Costa Concordia (RETIRED) 548 / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

We liked the cruise. We had a very nice room. But there was a serious language barriers. There was a lot of smoking. It was my first cruise and I truly loved it. However, my husband, who has had more cruise experience, said it was nice but that he would definately stick with an american cruise line in the future.

An exciting and packed cruise by RobertJ12

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Costa Concordia (RETIRED) 548 / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

Boarding was a pleasure compared to the Costa Ancient Treasures trip to Istanbul. The cabins at the back were great (180 degree view) BUT we were too close to the Londra Lounge which made loud noise till 1-2am each morning. The ship is beautuiful, with everything you need, The gym was a bit dissapointing compared to the one on the Costa Meditteranea or Atlantica The food was fantastic and the service excellent - we found the staff all round superb The tour gourp organisation was good except that with few english speaking guests we were limited

We had so much fun! by BarbaraT6

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Voyager of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

We never thought that cruising would be so much fun. Everything was great, and we would absolutely recommend it. The crew was excellent, there were shows, plays at the theatre , the food was to die for!!! We just didn't like the port in Palermo, Sicily, it was ugly, and not much to do, so we stayed on the ship !! We were very happy with everything else and we will start planning our next cruise with them !

Great European Cruise! by JulieD7

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Costa Concordia (RETIRED) 548 / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

This was an Italian crusie experience in every way...we knew that going into it and were very pleased with the experience. We speak Italian and really enjoyed the food, music, shows, ports, even the piano bar. If you are expecting an American cruise, you might think twice. THere were Americans on board, but it is predominately Italian.
