More than met our expectations! by LarryL4

Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

Overall, with two exceptions, my wife and I had an enjoyable experience aboard the Crown Princess. (1) There was a clear lack of capacity for many shore excursions, many of which were sold out weeks before the cruise began. One would have thought Princess could anticipate the number of passengers during the peak Summer period and plan accordingly. For those who plan a cruise around the assumption that they will be able to visit certain sites, the lack of capacity for shore excursions for which no alternative exists (for example, to Normandy and Paris from La Havre), raises questions about Princess' ethical and legal obligations to deliver what passengers pay for and expect. (2) I understand that Internet access via satellite may be intermittent at times based on the position of the ship. But to continuously receive the message of too many subscribers logged in suggests a different problem that represents a shortcoming within the ship's and Princess' power to control and correct. The lack of reasonable (if not continuous) Internet access created unanticipated work-related difficulties for me and caused unneeded problems during what was supposed to be primarily a vacation. If not fixed, this should give pause to anyone who requires onboard semi-regular Internet access.

We enjoyed the stage shows. The dining room meals were very good. The ship internet service need improving. The stateroom was nice & the room stewards were very good. The Captian , Tim Roberts, was unusally friendly with the guest.

A different kind of cruise! by SusanD10

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

The ship was beautiful and would go on it again, it had a great cigar bar and we enjoyed it. The food was so so, but the buffet was wonderful. Not enough consideration for the disabled.

Bad Experience by KeithK1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Queen Elizabeth / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

We've been on over forty cruises and this was our second with Cunard. We booked a suite and purchased ship transfers from Cunard. We arrived at St. Pancras station as instructed by 11:30 am for the pick-up to Southampton. After walking throughout the station with our luggage with no representative from Cunard to be found anywhere, we went to the information desk and asked if they had seen anyone from Cunard and they had not. At approximately 12 (with the 12:30 pick up window closing) I called AA travel and they were unable to reach Cunard. I was finally able to locate the port number and called the ship. Almost two hours later at 1:50 a car arrived to pick us up. We arrived at the pier at 3:50 for a 4:30 sailing and were the last passengers to check in. It appears that Cunard did not make a pick up reservation or cancelled it. Being the last to board the ship when the mustard drill is taking place at no fault of your own after paying for transportation is not only stressful but not "white star service." Instead of remedying the situation, Cunard did nothing for their mess up. Had we not called over and over from the train station, we would have missed the ship (again, at no fault of our own).

A terrrible cruise by OliverD1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grand Princess / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

the ports of call are really noscript. Gurnsey has nothing worthwhile. Brest is even worse since most of it was destroyed in WWII. Lisbon was ok except that you got no help from the ship staff on how to get around on your own. They really want you to take their very expensive, time comsuming excursionsand usually led by poor speaking english docents.

I received my luggage only on the 3d day. On the 10th day of cruise when we came from the tour, I found my cabin empty and all my personal belongings were removed from our cabin and thrown into one bag. My toothbrush and toothpaste were in the garbage ( I requested the replacement, but never received even this). Room attendant said that it happened by mistake. She was told by her superiors to clean the room. We asked to talk to the manager, but manager never came. At the end of the cruise all passengers received the survey, but we did not receive it. I asked customer service for the survey form and was told that cruise run out of survey forms.

Our first cruise, great time by MikeP20

Ship: Norwegian Jade / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

The ship was very nice. There were plenty of speciality restaurants to choose from, but the food at the included places was nice. There was not enough deck space to accomodate all the pool people in high times, but plenty of room on the sun decks.

Very Disapointed by MrsH1

Morocco was canceled after we boared the ship. Substitute port was just okay. Freestyle is not really free. You have to pay for juice if you are not a child after breakfast. Dinning room food was just okay

regular cruise by A8

The ship was ok. There was a lack of participation from the guests, and the stuff tried their best on the activities. Food was pretty good. The disco area it was very pretty but was no party music, they had an old singer playing live music pretty much every night until late. People who wanted to party had to wait for the 9pm activity show to be over, and if we didn't like the music, there was no other choice, contrary to slow music that was played in multiple locations. The Dj was pretty good, and played our requests, but after few days of the same songs, the music got old.

Holland America Cruise by SusanM6

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Prinsendam / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

The ship was nice, but old. Some of the details were not up to the level of other cruise liners I have been on. For example, the shower had a cheap soap dish that was not stable. Also, the ship was small and there was not much choice in entertainment, although the entertainment was very good. In addition, there were not many restaurant/meal options like on larger ships.

The overall impression was pretty good. However, my husband and I are in our 30's and this cruise line is for people in their 70's and 80's.

My wife and I enjoyed the Crown Princess 15-day Mediterranean/Atlantic trip with thirteen (13) ports of call, better than any other cruise we have taken. Weather was perfect from June10-June 25.

An amazing adventure! by MelissaP7

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

I booked this cruise to introduce my 10-year-old daughter to European cities I had enjoyed as a backpacker long ago and cities I had yet to explore. The itinerary was amazing! Every day was an adventure as we decided to tour on our own instead of taking the pricey ship excursions. Guidebooks, advice from the ship's port consultant (a great feature), and tips from fellow travelers, helped ensure that we made the most of each port. This cruise was a fantastic way to get a taste of many places while still enjoying the amenities and convenience of a great ship. The ship itself was beautifully decorated with plenty of popular public areas. We never felt it was overly crowded, even though it was fully booked. The staff followed the Princess motto of being available, but unobtrusive. Everything was kept very clean and well maintained. The food was delicious and there was a good variety. For post-port afternoon snacks on the pool deck, my daughter loved the grilled food (burgers and hotdogs) and ice cream, and I enjoyed the pizza. We met a lot of great people through the "anytime dining" and liked the flexibility of being able to eat on our own schedule. We never had to wait long for a table. This was our first Princess experience and we will most certainly be repeat customers.

Dream Vacation by PhyllisF

This ship was very clean and well maintained. We only had 3 days at sea to really take advantage of everything the ship had to offer, but what we saw and did was absolutely fabulous. I really couldn't find fault with anything.
