Nice Itinerary, Great Ship, Very Enjoyable by ellengwynn

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

This was a re-positioning cruise from the Baltic to the Med. Nice ports of call, places we had not visited before. It was a really worthwhile experience and I am really glad we found this cruise.

Very enjoyable cruise by tonyzal

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Explorer of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

If I could be sure of having a similar sized cabin with the excellent storage and larger bathroom, I would sail with RC much more rather than the so-called "higher end" ships like Celebrity.

Great Itinerary, Better than expected weather, disappointing cruise. by lwkroll

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

We booked the cruise because of the itinerary. We do not and did not like the large ship. We prefer smaller ships +/- 1000. Princess overcharges for excursions and nickel and dimes you to death with incidentals. We will never book a Princess - or any Carnival owned cruise - again.

Fast spin around British isles by sandmanDan

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

Prior research and planning paid off handsomely. Also take advantage of shipboard previews the previous evening if possible to get the most out of your tours.

Superb dining but the QV didn't impress much by silverwings

Ship: Queen Victoria / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

Slow pace, boring ship, best food ever, nice ports although Cunard tours are all way too short. Will not repeat.

Scenic Serenity by susant323

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Crystal Serenity / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

This was our third Crystal Cruise. The all inclusive makes cruise travel much easier since you do not have to worry about daily tips or keeping track of added charges. The food was very good, and the staff was eager to please. There was a good ratio of crew to passenger. Ports were very diverse and interesting.

terrific staff by perribrandon

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Spirit / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

Most of the tours spent a lot of time on a bus. I needed to be older and less mobile for this cruise. I'm glad I did it and do not need to do it again. I like a more active cruise that has more exertion in the ports. As always NCL personnel is terrific. The Spirit is a small ship and has less to do than most other ships. That matters on a 12 day cruise.

Problems w/Blarney Castle. As advertised long lines may be expected but line was over 2.5 hrs to get to castle entrance. Therefore, we did not get to see castle. False advertising. by kmordensky

Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

We will NOT go on a Crown Princess again. What a shame. Problems w/Blarney Castle. As advertised long lines may be expected but line was over 2.5 hrs to get to castle entrance. Therefore, we did not get to see castle. False advertising. We should be refunded our excursion fee.

Wonderful trip by 2bordens

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

Our only issue & this is a major issue. We paid for the transfer from the airport to the hotel. We booked a pre-cruise 3 days in London before boarding the ship. We arrived at 5:30 am and there was no one to collect us. It took 3 hours and the help of a Princess Rep, who was there to collect passengers for another cruise, to get us a car to get to the hotel. This was 3 hours of London time that was lost. It was no way to start a vacation.

Worst Cruise Ever by Halden

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Spirit / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

Overall this is a good cruise itinerary however we only experienced half because of lack of Visa for Southern Ireland. Several other passengers experienced this ordeal, hence there is need for better communication about visa requirements for international passengers since visa to UK is not sufficient for this excursion.

A great cruise to the British Isles from Southampton. by tgmerryfield

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Spirit / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

This was a dream itinerary and the Spirit did not disappoint. The port of calls were interesting and the northern ports were outstanding and the people seemed to appreciate our visiting their beautiful countries. One shop in Portland mentioned that they only have been open for cruise ships for three years and the Spirit was the largest ship to date. The NCL is the oldest ship in Norwegian fleet but they have managed to keep it fresh mostly up to date. The decor is a little strange as it has an oriental bent but since it originally sailed in Asia it makes more sense. This ship is scheduled to have a 5 week refit in the spring and I would guess this issue would be addressed as well as the limited power outlets in the cabins.

Excellent cruise by StephanieFrang

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Queen Victoria / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

Great cruise. I am a solo senior traveler and enjoy Cunard very much. I frequently meet other solo travelers and others who share interests. I enjoy the range of dining choices that Cunard offers. I never find the ships, cramped or crowded although they are completely booked. I did not wait in a line anywhere. Nice stateroom and good service.

It was okay... by jessicaburton20

I appreciate how the Captain made a best and safe decision to go straight to Barcelona. We missed other ports...but Norwegian did fairly compensate the guest for our troubles.

We Almost Made It To Rome by jay63847594

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Pearl / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

Norwegian advertises its atmosphere as "Freestyle Cruising" and that is truly a good description. The old days of dress nights and assigned seating are long gone and with them some of what made cruising different from any other vacation place. That said, Norwegian does an excellent job of offering a wide variety of activities for all passengers and a wide range of entertainment. The food is good but it is the volume of it which is most remarkable. The crew is uniformly polite, attentive, and helpful. The Pearl is a fine ship and seemed enormous to us, although its 3,000 passengers would no longer count among the larger vessels at sea. We enjoyed wandering around to the various places on the ship for entertainment, food, and (frankly) the chance to move about. Unfortunately, our ship encountered engine trouble which forced us to miss two ports along the way and then end the cruise in Barcelona rather than continuing to Livorno and Rome. Norwegian more than made it up to us by promising to refund half the cost of the cruise and provide a 50% discount on a future journey. In contrast, a ship from another line encountering mechanical troubles in a prior port had their passengers in a smaller city for four straight days with no promise of return or any offer of relief or reimbursement. Norwegian's decision to provide information to the passengers along the way, proactively offer to compensate us for the changes, and then facilitate a fairly pleasant disembarkation is laudable, especially in comparison to peer companies. We will definitely be returning for another Norwegian cruise in the near future.

It was horrible. We've missed four ports and the ship stopped sailing in Barcelona, Spain due to mechanical problems. We had to book last minute flight to get to Rome, Italy where the disembarkation supposedly scheduled to arrive in Rome on Friday, 07/05 by lilyepamanian

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Pearl / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

This was a horrible cruise. We were required to find last minute flight to get to Rome, Italy since we have post cruise planned. however, due to the ship had mechanical problems, passengers were forced to find a solution to get off the ship in Barcelona, Spain instead of Rome, Italy. NCL promised to cover $300 airfare reimbursement, but each ticket cost over $400 per person. I think the airfare should have been reimbursed at 100%. In addition, we were not able to utilize the ultimate beverage package since we were stuck in Barcelona, Spain for three days, in which it should be refunded at least 30%. Passengers kept getting bad announcements daily, in which it spoiled our vacation.
