Very good by Lenochek

Ship: Eurodam / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

Very good service and grate experience. It was our first cruise and we enjoyed it a lot. On the other hand the charges for Wi-Fi are ridiculous not to mention that it rarely works. The prices for vine are also way too high and the bottle of Californian vine you can buy for $10.00 to $15.00 is going to cost you around $60.00. Way too high of a price! The ship is very clean, room service is great and security is impressive. Overall it is not too bad not to be connected to the Internet when you travel through Greece, Italy and Turkey.

Fun ports of call. Food best in main dining room. Murano restaurant on board not that good. Dress code not enforced well. Theatre shows mostly good. Good gym. Asking guest to not only pay for the manicure service Plus an additional $25 for the polish is ridiculous. Friendly staff.

Very disappointing... by RoMa4422

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

My family and I have cruised on board the Navigator in 2005 and was disappointed to see the negative changes...pls see below. Overall ship appears ok but, worn out and tired. Badly in need of refurbishing. Some areas of the ship's hallways and pucture frames are banged up. Deck 6 hallway smells of mildew or something foul. The carpets are faded and stained. 1st night's dinner in the dining room was below average: the salmon, in several occasions was over cooked and dry. The creme brûlée at multiple times looked like the sugar on top was just hurriedly dumped in the middle and was caramelized! On another note, both specialty restaurants food and wait staff were excellent! All staff members we've been un contact with were wonderful, warm and professional. Many areas of the ship showed sime neglect. Specifically the Desk/phone stand by the Nutcracker does not look like it's been dusted or polished in awhile! Likewise the Internet cafe was sub-standard from the stations being sticky and dusty to the very expensive fees for a snail's pace connection/speed. It took 15mins to send ONE email message! Lastly, sodas and specialty coffees are extra charges! Gone are the days when cruising was all inclusive!

great food outstanding service in the cabins, and most outstanding service in the restaurant areas, including the buffet. Great costumer service clean and organized all throughout the ship Great entertainment, and facilities exceptional crew members, most professionalism to include all kitchen staff and servers I am impressed by this cruise ship level of professionalism, and i stress on the quality rendered by all the staff of on the cruise to have been the best i have ever encountered, This cruise as impressed me on every aspect, and the dedication of the staff to ensure that the guest were made comfortable, and entertained by providing services left me speechless. I will stress, however, most outstanding the kitchen staff, cooks, servers, cleaning crew.

Lack luster by lte6189

Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

I was slightly disappointed. The excursions were over priced. We found better deals in the cities and the guides were knowledgeable and friendly. I was bored during the day while at see. The Ice skating show and Saturday Night Fever Live shows were outstanding! The staff was great! The food was nothing to brag about. The main dinning room food that should have been hot wasn't and food like cheesecake we are use to being cold was warm. They should consider offering more late night variety. This was my fourth cruise and third cruise with RC and I would rank it as the worst.

europe mediterranean april 21,2013 by lucie12

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends

First of all, I enjoyed the cruise very much. This was my first seven days cruise and I had a lot of fun. I was giving a delta reservation number which happens to be Alitalia. I requested a table for 2 at dinner and we were on a table for 6, but we manage. the worst part was that we could not bring an iron on board and was charged $70 for ironing our clothes, I think that was outrageous. Now I know what to do next time. Order than that everything was fine. I will definitely cruise with Royal Carribean again.

Good cruise by keeponcruising

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Spirit / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

Good cruise, good entertainment, quality of food can be improved. Too much bread and waste. Terrible coffee. offer a pass for the specialty coffee just like the soda. Did excursions in all ports. All excursions were good except in Venice. Guide was terrible, many guests got lost and guest had difficulty locating gondola ride. The guide never counted how many in her group. Every time she stops, she should count the number of guests !!!!! Her sign should be more visible and can be located easily if one is lost. Not worth the money.

EVEN BETTER THE SECOND TIME AROUND by TerriEllisen

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Ryndam / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

My husband and I had taken this cruise--same ports--ten years ago and had always wanted to return to (especially) Barcelona. Loved it even more the second time around!! The "On/Off Busses, in several of the ports, made it so easy to get around as well as the Ship Tour to Rome was a good value. I am a "seasoned" cruise traveler, with Princess and Crystal; this being my second Holland American Cruise. Cruising has changed alot over the years and find it much more enjoyable now that it's less formal and there are so many options in terms of dining and attaire. Also, love to see so many families with children of all ages! Oh! Also thought the "entertainment" was excellent!

Excellent first cruise experience! very happy by RSFMD

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Fantasia / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

This is my first cruise. It has excellent service, facility, and program. The stops are good. No motion sickness. The staff are very kind and happy. The food is good. My advices: 1) Don't buy the excursion: get your own tourguide, taxi guide 2) Don't gamble at the Casino 3) Don't pre-buy the drink coupons, it is limited and the full cost is not that much.

Only use if no other choice available by Journalingrox

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Costa Mediterranea / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

Babies and toddlers everywhere from second seating dinner to the gym to cannon balling in the jacuzzi. Parents don't say anything and neither does the Costa staff. Dinners are very Italian, food and service which we knew in advance and did enjoy. Breakfast and lunch food quality were poor- Hometown Buffet is truly what it was like. There are time periods in the middle of the day 1/2 an hour to an hour where there is no food service but scant slices of pizza available. lastly, We had to pack and vacate our room 3 1/2 hours before reaching port (they plan it this way to get a head start on room cleaning and prep for the next guest). My jacket was lost and was never to be found again during this time-thank you Costa. Keep your belongings with you at all times, double check your things yourself.

Never travel on Costa Fascinosa by Texchiccruiser

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Costa Fascinosa / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

This was the worst cruise I have ever taken. The ports were great but the ship was terrible. I did not like the food they served and the service they provided was not up to par. It took 12 hrs just for someone to fix my toilet. The entertainment they provided was not interesting. Wish they had more to do on the ship. I spoke with other passengers and they said that they did not enjoy this cruise either. They cruise other cruise lines and said this one was the worst. If your only wanting to see the ports then this is for you. I did love the ports but a couple of times they were late getting this set up so that took away time in the ports. Check in was a nightmare, everything was disorganized.

Well worth the $$$$ by Oregonian

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Jade / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

I must say that based on previous reviews I was concerned about the overall quality of this ship and the itinerary. When we got on board I noticed right away how picky the past reviews really were. We had a fantastic time on our cruise! This was our 5th cruise and we were very happy with our experience. The food was great every night and the room service was excellent! Our cabin was cleaned 2 times per day and more than met our expectations. The shows were a lot of fun and the crew were so nice to us. We put our name in for dinner with an officer and had the opportunity to talk with him and enjoyed visiting with him very much! I would highly recommend a balcony room as we enjoyed it everyday after a long day sightseeing. The ports of call were safe and refreshing. Can't wait to book our next cruise with Norweigan. The only negative part was the internet. It would be nice to have FREE wifi while in port.

The cruising was fine the check in and checking out terrible by Shawneecruiser

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Costa Magica / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

We have sailed many times and the embarcation to the Costa Magica was the worst!! Wait in lines, wait in lines, wait in lines and basicily do nothing! Everything could have been done with more people checking you in and doing everything at one time. The cruise was very nice and the food service was fair. The entertainment was the best we have ever seen anywhere ( 5 Stars) Our room staff was just great but the waiter at dinner and the wait staff else where needs lessons in nice. The ports were very interesting and we had a good time on our own. Didn't try the excursions. Then we had to pick-up our passports on the morning of our disembarcation, oh what a mess! We waited over 2 hours in line ( and we were at the front of the line) to get passports no excuse for this irriatation.

10 day Norwegian Jade Cruise by devlet

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Norwegian Jade / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

We loved the cruise. Although we'd done the Mediterranean before this held some new ports for us. It also had the best and quickest life jacket drill we'd ever experienced. The food was probably the worst we'd had on a cruise ship. All the white fish was mushy and the desserts were too sweet. The food was standard. That said it still was good enough to have us filling our plates and I don't know how my pants would be fitting now if the desserts were better. They had a great selection of fruits and vegetables and all was fresh. At the more formal dining rooms the service was excellent as well as the number of menu choices. My biggest problem with cruise ships now is the specialty restaurants you have to pay to eat at and the number of them. Has the food gotten worse at the free restaurants so you'll want to pay for something better? We went on the cruise ship believing there would be washing machines as there were last time. Nope. We had to pay to have our washing done, not that we didn't hand wash and continually had wet clothes hanging in the shower. If I'd have known we'd have brought more clothes because having clothes laundered is spendy. The best part for our children was the kids club they have which was truly amazing. The kids were begging to stay and wanted to go back to it as soon as they left. They had so much fun and the club had better hours than the last time we cruised with Norwegian. The kids learned circus skills and put on a show for the adults. The staff were the ones that really made it so wonderful for the kids and us. It was our last experiences with the Norwegian Kids Club that influenced us to choose this cruise over another cruise line.

We had a wonderful time at the Jade (Norwegian Cruise Lines). The customer service was excellent, the food was the best, the enterteining was fantastic. There is nothing close to a cruise to really enjoy vacations.

Mediterranean Cruise on NCL by JRBCruiser

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Jade / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

Great cruise. Got a good price on a mini-suite. In fact the tour excursions were more than the cost of the cruise, but were worth it. The stop in Ephesus was very memorable. Food was first class and there were virtually no waiting for a table.

Excellent choice of ports by birgerke

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Jade / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

We recently cruised on the Norwegian Jade on an 11 night Mediterranean tour. It was a round trip departing from Rome and included Turkey, Cyprus, Israel and Greece. Due to safety concerns the two night Egyptian ports were cancelled and replaced with Crete and Naples. Overall we had an excellent time aboard the Jade. The staff were always friendly and helpful, the ship was clean and there was a good variety of food. There could have been more variety in daily entertainment but it definitely wasn't something that would have put a damper on our vacation. We mainly ate in the dining rooms...the buffet was always overcrowded with overbearing tourists fighting for a place to sit. The dining room was a lot quieter especially at breakfast. The ship's staff were diligent with spraying disinfectant on diners hands as they entered the buffet area and there were disinfectant stations all over the ship. Wise decision considering all the norovirus outbreaks in recent year.

NCL service has dropped by rmsmith

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Jade / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

I've become less and less impressed with NCL. Perhaps my tastes have evolved but it feels like food, service, and class of vacationers have all dropped. I ordered a $200 plus bottle of champagne, chocolate covered strawberries and a dozen roses to be delivered on Valentines day. First, I was told I could not get flowers coming out of Rome but NCL sold roses on the ship on that day and others. We arrived aboard to have the items being delivered as we got to our door instead of as ordered. We stopped eating in the main dinning room do to very poor service and so-so food (had to wait over 30 minutes for our entree to be delivered after our startes, and then was told there was a delay on the deserts). I sent in a complaint and never received any reply at all. NCL no longer provides the quality I expect when I vacation.

Eastern Mediterranean Cruise by Retiredcruisers

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Jade / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

Norwegian's shore excursions were the highlight of our 10-day Eastern Mediterranean cruise. Additionally, the cruise director's history lessons and venue preparations for our trips ashore we're phenomenal. The service of waitresses and cabin personnel was also 5-star. We thoroughly enjoyed two of the evening entertainments. And the Norwegian Jade's band was spectacular ... the best we've ever heard or seen. The dining room meals, however, lacked the quality we had previously experience on the Norwegian Epic. As well, the day's events while at sea didn't seem to offer as much variety or appeal as did the Epic's agenda. I was so disappointed that the Jade did not offer an afternoon tea.
