Aa WONDERFUL TRIP ON MY BUCKET LIST by tpfaraci

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Sun / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

Getting up close to the glacier's was very impressive. Food and service was very good as I have come accustomed to with Norwegian.

I had one comment on dress code at the seven seas. It stated no shorts or tee shirts. I saw on numerous nights that people were allowed in with tee shirts where on the other hand I saw men turned away because they were warring shorts. The men warring shorts and a nice dress shirt were turned away but tee shirts and pants were allowed.  For me eating at the seven seas I will take a well dressed man with shorts over a man with tee shirt any day.

Amazing Alaska trip by fsteinlein

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Sun / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

Having the Norwegian Sun as our travelling hotel made this trip so convenient.  Although it is an older ship without many of the amenities that the new ships have, it was small enough to get us closer to the glaciers than the bigger ships could. We had wonderful excursions that we booked through Norwegian.

The upgrades to 4 specialty restaurants made meal time fun and they were fabulous!  The only criticism we have is the food in the standard restaurants was very disappointing.    We would definitely recommend paying the difference to eat every dinner at the speciality restaurants.

Super Itinerary by Anabelle

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Zaandam / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

I really enjoyed my first cruise with Holland America.  Alaska is beautiful!  The Zaandam has a really attentive crew. The ship has plenty of places to relax away from crowds.  I would cruise with Hal again without my teenager.  Even though there are activities in place for the young crowd there just weren't enough teens on the boat.  It really is an older, laid back crowd.  For me it was great.

The food was good, the service was excellent, and I loved the itinerary.

Long air time for cruise by wlmason

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Noordam / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

The organized embarkation & disembarkation made the cruise enjoyable from beginning to end.

Cruise staff did not burden passengers with constant announcements.

Room service was the difficult to work with.

good cruise, wrong information by klvdp58

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Noordam / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

I enjoyed the cruise, unfortunately I received incorrect information about a couple of very crucial parts of the trip that caused much unnecessary stress.  When I called with questions/help they were always very helpful and kind, unfortunately they didn't always give me the correct information.

Loved the onboard naturalist by janicewills

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Star Princess / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

We had a wonderful time with our daughter and her family.  Plenty to do for all three generations.  The onboard naturalist what a wonderful surprise.  Her lectures and exhibits were very helpful and interesting.  My only complaint was that the onboard staff seemed a bit stretched.  The university of Alaska Museum is a must see in Fairbanks.  There is a free shuttle from the lodge.

Great Alaskan Experience Cruise by BobAugustaGA

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

By doing 7 days going , able to see and experience many Alaskan Ports of Call and many sights and tours.  The weather was great with sunshine at ports.  Saw numerous wild life and learned a great deal from the tours.  Also had plenty of time to shop for jewelry and watches which we did and now have them as reminders of this great trip.  Remember - you may only do this once, so don't shot change the trip by not taking tours and buys souvenirs.

Awesome cruise and great experience. We saw whales, bears, sea lions, bald eagles and more at every stop, and the attentive cruise staff made it even more enjoyable and memorable. We will definitely be back!

Second time around by jonsian

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Millennium / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

We were very lucky to enjoy such wonderful weather, I always recommend friends to travel to Alaska as early in June as they can.  The glaciers are magnificent, even twelve years since the last time I saw them!  The ship experience was excellent, we were well taken care of and pampered.  Didn't feel any need to visit specialty restaurants as we were very pleased with the food in the main dining room.  Our only complaint is the cost of the excursions are too high.

Review of June 3 Alaskan cruise by pandtsmith

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

Ketchiikan and Juneu were our favorite ports. Icy Straight is boring - very little to see and do. Boat activities were boring and limited. The adult comedy show was a complete bust. Food was fair. Teen Optix Club was a success w/ my teens. Staff very friendly. The pool inside the solarium was full of kids - not adults only as stated. Inside pool too cold to swim in. Too smokey in the Casino so we spent limited time there. Too bad- my husband loves to play Blackjack. Onboard shopping limited and not much to buy.

Cruise to Remember by dorrieridenour

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Millennium / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

The ship was impressive. the Aqua Class suite was clean and very spacious. Loved the balcony. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. Food in the Blu and Metropolitan staff and food was excellent, enjoyed very much. The Buffet left a lot to be desired. Several dirty plates and cups were seen on the buffet. Food on the bottom of the plates and lipstick on the cups. The plates were on the buffet to be used and the cups were on the counter for the coffee. The food was a disappointment as far as the buffet went. But then everyone has different taste and this I understand.

Special Thanks to Ali and Harish in Food Service!! by cLCD0k0WieS0SonnABZKSGsDM

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Sun / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

We had a great time at the cruise. Food was delicious and service was exceptional.

To share, my wife prefer to drink Chai (Indian style) in the morning. Its not an item on the usual list of food. She asked the staff (Ali and Harish) if she can have some Indian Chai. They made that Chai daily exclusively for her and made her morning! On top of that always being humble and requesting "Is there anything else we can do, please do not hesitate to tell us".

The cruise director made us laugh every time we see his show.

Overall we loved the trip and in future will look forward to cruise with Norweigen again! Thank you :)

Gurvinder and Kiran

Heavenly Cruise by dlbowen

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Norwegian Sun / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

The whole cruise was handled excellently by the crew & staff. The on-board entertainment was excellent. We were kept well informed about all aspects of our location, ports of call and other spectacular viewing ops that we cruised past.  I would recommend this cruise to anyone (just suggest the northbound route so that you see the best sights near the end). Take a good camera & a lot of SD cards - not just a cell-phone or tablet camera. Norwegian's style of "Free Style" cruising is the only way to go - allows you to relax and do things as you want, fit your cruise to you in stead of you having to fit into the cruise.Love

Best way to the wilderness by Cruiser942

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Zaandam / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

Holland American land tour to Denali and cruise along the Alaskan coast was amazing!

Great transportation to Denali, excellent guides on tour into the wilderness of Denali.

The cruise on the Zaandam was smooth and fun and we saw so much of the coast and inside passage. Only way to go to the wilderness.

Very nice cruise, a little herd-like for land portion by mickeybf3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Coral Princess / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

The cruise was great, best food we have had on a cruise.  The ship is showing some age (rust on ourdoor metal railings, worn carpet) and needs some refurbishing, (apparently 12 rooms were flooded during our cruise and we were aware of several leaks around the ship).

The land portion was run excellently.  We liked how everything was handled, baggage and all.  Made that portion very easy especially given that we were in 3 different hotels over four nights.  However, it was at times like herding cattle when we were getting in buses.  If you can do a little more on your own that could be avoided.

Great Food, Beautiful Ship by pairodox

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Millennium / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

Overall, the Celebrity Millennium is a top notch cruise ship. It has beautiful decor, and is kept up immaculately.  Our stateroom attendant was so friendly and efficient.  We never needed anything as our room was always cared for with a meticulous hand.  The dining experience is also amazing. The food is delicious and the service is outstanding.  Every evening we were treated to so many exotic as well as classic dishes and the wait staff is extremely attentive and friendly.  The only reason I do not give this cruise 5 stars is due to the inhospitable guest relations staff.  We had an issue with on board credit not showing up until the last day.  Every guest relation staff member I approached responded with a very lax attitude and pointed the finger right back at me.  It wasn't until the very last day of the cruise that they had admitted the mistake was on their side and apologized.  It was too little too late as far as I was concerned.  I didn't like to have to ask every day of the cruise about this credit.  The situation caused undue stress and concern on my part.  I hope they rectify the flaw in their system so that this does not happen again to any other clients.

Enjoyable, but not cause of the ship by DrinkinNCruisin

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

The locations this cruise went were AMAZING.  Everywhere we went was gorgeous and had a lot to offer in terms of fun excursions.  Definitely get off the boat and explore as much as possible cause it's totally worth it.

The ship however - is more like Lack Luster of the Seas.  There isn't much to do onboard.  The entertainment wasn't that good and the movie selection they chose was nothing spectacular.  I was pretty upset at the 24 hour facilities....that closed at 11pm (who doesn't want to hot tub under the stars at midnight in Alaska!?!).  The alcohol selection on board was bad, considering I paid for the Premium Package.  Each bar was stocked with different alcohols - so you had to go back to specific bars if you wanted something specific.
