Either the ship management or the government clearance personnel (or both) were seemingly unprepared for a cruise ship.

I loved having the valet service for my luggage and the luggage handlers loved that we didn't eat any of our fruit on the drive from utah, because they got it all and they actually cheered. The guy who took our luggage was surprised when I tipped more than a dollar per case. It made me happy that he was happy with the tip.

a bit challenging to figure out the best way to get to the ship and to find directions and car rentals nearby. After a few hours i figured out that it is cheaper to rent a car and park it rather than to rent one way before and after the cruise

We didn't hang out in Long Beach. Weather was good but traffic was horrible as expected.

Loved how the ship is docked next to the Queen Mary.
