Review summary

This was my first cruise. I was warned about carnival. So many negatives about this trip to list. TOO many. What a ****** cruise. Diana and Rubria saved it for us by treating our sons so well. Otherwise, I’d be telling anyone who would listen to NEVER waste their money or time with this cruise line. $2,000 spent for 3 nights on a horrible cruise. Be ashamed of yourselves, Carnival. Thievery.

Embarkation

Rude, everyone is just plain rude.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
Terrible! One server told me about all the “frozen” filet Mignon you keep “down below” which is why it’s hard to cook a medium rare filet to the correct temp (mine was well done) When I ordered a medium rare prime rib, the server laughed and said “oh you like real bloody huh?” Maybe they should learn that’s the corrrect way to prepare and eat a steak. Another instance, in the buffet line, I noticed another patron using a dirty plate and the spoon from the eggs hit her dirty plate over and over again. I asked the worker for a clean spoon and explained to her why. She looked like she wanted to murder me. After waiting a minute for another spoon, I asked if it was coming. She snapped and said they don’t have extra clean spoons in the area. What does that even mean? You don’t have an extra PLASTICBLACK freakin spoon to put in the eggs after someone just cross contaminated the heck out of everything. And now I’m the bad guy bc I want a clean spoon. F that employee to be honest! I wanted to slap her through the buffet window for how rude she was. Blah blah blah I have way more negatives I could share but we’ll stick to those couple of horrible ridiculous things for now and maybe you can work on them with your horrible employees who all obviously hate their job.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
What activities? Drinking? Nothing special going on here. Arcade is TINY for the kids. Give me a break. Pools and hot tub look dirty and gross at all times. Ugh so many nasty things

Entertainment

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
If it wasn’t for the women working for the children’s group, Diana and Rubria, I would have absolutely HATED this cruise. They were the cruises saving grace. Wonderful people and I’m happy to know them. Too bad their goodness didn’t rub off onto the rest of your staff. They’re away from their children and they took excellent care of mine. Those two women were the only great part about your operation in my opinion.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
All staff EXCEPT Children’s camp ocean staff and Don (from India) the bartender were rude and acted as though they hated their jobs. All bartenders (except Don) checked for additional tips and would make us wait longer or even ignore us if we didn’t leave a tip the first round. Also, I had no idea about the $40 gratuity already added to the drink cards we got, so I was tipping additionally every time.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Old outdated ship. Probably hasn’t been updated since the 90’s.

Cabin / Stateroom

1 out of 5
Tiny cabin, dirty carpet, sink and tub stayed clogged the entire cruise

Ship tip

Don’t sail on Carnival imagination

I am sorry you had such a horrible time. 2000 for a 3 day? Serious? We just paid 320 a piece for a 4 day. Including port fees and gratuities. I cant imagine that every single person was rude to you. Actitues there are plenty, I am surprised you found nothing to do. As for prepaid gratuities, I am sure it was stated when you purchased it.

$2000 for a 3 day?! Where did you cruise out of? My next cruise is a 7 day balcony room for 2 for $2400. Most 3 days run in the $250-$300 range for an inside cabin. You did get ripped off if you paid that much!

Sorry it was a bad experience): But I look at it like I look at it like Retail chains and chain restaurants you can hate one location and love another just like it comes down to individual ship and how the people on board manage there ship.
