A: Port Miami is adjacent (maybe 3 miles) from MIA. All airports have rental agencies just off site. IMPORTANT though, only the very large agencies allow one-way rentals. Some charge extra for one way rentals. Do your research! Use google maps and locat... e the port then sub-search for “rental car agencies “.See More

A: I usually do car rental through Costco, great prices and you’ll be able to compare a few companies in the locations you’d like. Sometimes hotels will have a car rental but one way can vary greatly in price by location depending on what benefits them.... For example price can be less to pick up and drop off from airports vs small hotel or port locations, especially for one way. Our next trip to California we are doing this and just Uber to nearby airport car rental to pick up after a couple days at parks, then drop off at the different airport that we fly out of.See More

Answered by livlifenoregret on July 24, 2024
A: Be mindful of your cruise documents. Every cruise line I’ve been on it’s always been two hours prior. Also, 3:30 departure sounds odd. Verify that.

Q: Hello and thanks in advance for all responses. My question is… Has anyone ever done a night layover in Kissimmee and driven to the port? We’re cruising out on Sunday Dec 1 and we were thinking of staying in a townhouse resort in Kissimmee Saturday night , then pull out at about 7:30 am Sunday to head to Miami. Would this be pushing it? Also we usually set our boarding time at 1:30 or 2:00pm. Again thanks for any advice given.

A: The only thing that could foil that plan would be an issue with traffic. Accidents on the turnpike are not uncommon and could add some time to your journey. A: For those of you suggesting Google to those asking questions, I’m curious. Here, I can ask a question to a community of like minded cruisers who may have recently personally experienced a place or opportunity that they feel compelled to recommend or... suggest I avoid and the reasons why. At this point, virtually everyone is familiar with search engines, advertising, sponsored content, and site optimization. Sure, anyone can Google anything but I like the firsthand, eyewitness testimonials from people with nothing to gain but sharing their experiences for the benefit and appreciation of their fellow cruising community.See More

A: Personally I would never travel without a passport for everyone in my group. If they don’t have one you will need a birth certificate and a photo ID. Which ever cruise you are on will have all their information on their web page.
Answered by alexanderl on November 29, 2023
A: As long as you are starting and ending in the United States you do not need them. However you will need at least a birth certificate for identification for them. Answered by kelskazoo22 on December 2, 2023
A: I would never chance it. If something happens and you need to fly back from a port you will have to deal with the embassy trying to get back to the states. We have seen this when people missed the boat. Passports are valid for 10 years, seems like a... silly way to save a couple bucks .See More

Q: I'm looking for recommendations! The day of debarkation we have nothing to do until needing to be at Miami Airport around 7pm. Not trying to spend too much money, like a hotel day pass but open to anything to kill time. We just need to be able to do something with our luggage for the day also. The ships has very short excursions but we're not really interested in the options & we'd still be left with A LOT of time to kill.
