Miami, Florida Port Q&A

4.2
I'm looking for recommendations! The day of debarkation we have nothing to do until needing to be at Miami Airport around 7pm. Not trying to spend too much money, like a hotel day pass but open to anything to kill time. We just need to be able to do something with our luggage for the day also. The ships has very short excursions but we're not really interested in the options & we'd still be left with A LOT of time to kill.

Because that is Shipmates new way! Now everytime someone answers a question, it pops up again as a new post! It sucks! Not sure why someone at Shipmate thought that was a great idea!

I remember our driver telling us that there is a free trolley at the port that will take you sightseeing around Miami.

I see Bayside Marketplace is close to the port…it’s a two story open air shopping center with restaurants and activities to do….I’ve seen where there is also locker/luggage space to rent. That’s what I’m thinking of doing to waste time

Close to the Airport there is outlet mall called Dolphin Mall. A lot of restaurants, movies theatre, bowling and shopping. I believe from the airport you will find shuttles.

Hello . You can ride the free trolley around the whole Miami for free.every trolley connects to each other . You can catch the first trolley at the Port of Miami.near the ship. They start running at 7:30 am and there’s room for your luggage.

Last time we cruised out of Miami we checked our bags at the airports baggage check and then did our own thing. We love little Havana so we went there, had lunch and walked around.

well in my case I kill the time in the airport walking and seeing the shops😂😂

I have known people to go to the airport check in their luggage then go out and about. Not sure how this works first hand as I am local to Miami. Just an idea.

On days like that we typically rent the smallest car that fits our needs and cruise around the city. Luggage stays in car and you can do things like drive down to Key largo or visit local malls attractions. We actually just did that after getting off horizon on Saturday and drive down to Key largo until our 9:30 flight. Rental car was like $70.

there is luggage storage at the airport. you can take a transfer or Uber to the airport and drop off your bags and then go where you want. that way you don't have to go back to a specific hotel to get your bags later in the day

Answered by seafoamverde on October 29, 2023

you can do a day pass at a hotel or get a lounge pass at the airport to have food and drinks and a nice exclusive place to hang.

I usually rent a car in this situation.. You could go out the Tamiami Trail... see the Valujet memorial and all the wildlife.

I've found hotels will store your luggage behind the desk for free after or before chrck in time.

I am in the same situation. Other than an excursion on disembarkation day, I am not sure what to do.
