My first cruise was amazing! I highly recommend anyone to take one. 8 days was perfect, not long enough however. There is so much to do on board it is ridiculous. So much fun and everyone is so friendly. You get a family at the end of the cruise and it makes it bitter sweet to leave.

There are going to be crowds. You will have to wait in long lines. It will be a slow process to board the ship. Be patient. Think happy thoughts. Remember that you are about to go on a cruise. You and 6000 new friends are about to float on water for 6 days. It’s going to be a blast!

For this being my first cruise and not knowing what to expect. This was the smoothest, fastest boarding process I have seen. The ride to the port was quick and short. The boarding was quick and short. No long lines

Arrived in Miami 2 days before cruise and stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton Grand Hotel Biscayne Bay. Excellent hotel. Staff are super nice and helpful. I arrived before my room was ready, hotel offer to hold my luggage while I explore the area. They text my phone when my room was available. They also offer a shuttle to the port for $7.50 per person, you can either charge it to the room or pay the driver upon pick up. The hotel even text me during my visit to make sure everything was okay with my room. The hotel has 6 restaurant and few shops. Located in the shop area, are couple of places that offer massages and a place to rent a boat, jet pack, jet ski or a ride on the banana boat. There are free trolleys in the area to help get you around town. I visited Bayside Marketplace for some food/drinks and live music. Bayside Marketplace has vendors for speedboat tour or regular boat tour, Hop on/hop off bus tours of the city, and everglades water tours in additional to places to shop. Wynwood Art District is must see as well. They have plenty of awesome wall art. I went on a Sunday, so there were street vendors and food trucks around. Within walking distance from the hotel is a Publix supermarket, great if you like to have snacks and wine in the room 😬.

My home. Born & raised here all my life. A place full of diverse people, a plethora of food choices, and a wide range of different things to do. Closest tourist spots next to the port are Bayside (indoor/outdoor mall that looks out onto the bay), PAMM (a contemporary art museum), & the Frost Museum (Miami’s newest interactive science museum)

Love Miami! It’s never a cheap trip but I’ve learned to plan early and surf the Internet for deals. Groupon and Hilton Honor points come in handy when coming to South Beach Can’t wait to come back in January for a day before for cruising out on Norwegian Sky.
