Did not enjoy this port at all. The shop owners would only quote you in Canadian money, would not convert to US $$$. The city shut down at 5:30. We did not arrive to port 3:30. I'm sure if you enjoy flowers and gardens this is the place for you.

We got in about 7PM and left about 11PM on a Sunday. There's not much open at this time. We just went to a local bar and had some drinks and then walked back to the ship. Not sure why they even stop here. Victoria is a great city, but you need a lot more time to explore.

Beuchart Gardens were beautiful. The rip off was the $13 per person round trip shuttle. It took us about 2 miles to the Empress Hotel. The Gardens tour bus met us there. After the tour, it took us back to the ship. So didn't need the shuttle at all. Could have walked into town or taken a cab.

Probably would get a higher rating if the cruise line provided free shuttles to town and was in port more than 4 hours. 6:30 pm to 11:00 on a Friday night with 4 other ships in port is not an enjoyable experience.

A beautiful city. Butchart Gardens is a must see! Make sure you have enough time to see it all. The gardens are huge.
