Review summary

A great family vacation. Easy trip with little planning needed. The Lido deck on this smaller ship wasn't too crowded, especially if you went early for breakfast and lunch. The scenery was beautiful, especially cruising through the fjords to the Tracy glacier. The ride was smooth as we were not too far out to sea. Embarkation/debarkation at the ports was pretty easy as well.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Embarkation in Seattle is a bit longer than the Galveston experience. We took an Uber from downtown and you can tell it's a bit crazy to get to the terminal. A lot of lines to wait in before you finally board.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
MDR staff were great and always greeted us with a smile. I recall that our daughter's favorite dessert was creme brûlée and they weren't going to have it the last night we dined. But our table lead made sure to put in a special request for her. I really liked the coffee machines on the Lido deck. They would grind the beans and brew a cup at a time. They did not have this on the Valor.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
I loved the fitness center at the front of the ship. We spent a lot of time in the Tracy Fjord and I could use the bikes or elliptical and still have a front row seat to the scenery. And when you are eating all the time you need the fitness center.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The Legend is a smaller ship so you need to get to the shows early for a good seat. The singers were very good and the shows entertaining.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All the staff were friendly and showed great concern for the passengers and always seems to be cleaning.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The ship was very clean, but the decor was very outdated. I can't quite figure out what the motif was, but early tacky may sum it up best. I think the ship was due for an update. I don't like the location of the casino as you often find yourself walking through it to another part of the ship and it's way too smoky.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Three to a room was a bit cramped so the balcony was welcome. There is a lot of storage room, but only one outlet in the room. Remember to bring a power strip to plug in your phones and iPads.

We got in about 7PM and left about 11PM on a Sunday. There's not much open at this time. We just went to a local bar and had some drinks and then walked back to the ship. Not sure why they even stop here. Victoria is a great city, but you need a lot more time to explore.

Disembarkation

No problems. We took our bags with us so we walked off and to the shuttle bus that took us to the Airport.

Traveler Photos

Tacky interior decor Dessert in the steakhouse Tracy Fjord Cool train in port Great view from the fitness center Fjords in the Tracy Arm Some of the bizarre interior design The is the Tracy Glacier from our balcony. The ship spends a few hours here as people get off for a close up excursion.
