Four hour sightseeing trip that took us to two places and then several spots for photos. City itself had much more to offer and we were disappointed not to experience more. I'd advise others to take a full day trip so as to see more of the area.

This was my first time in Malaysia. Kota Kinabalu is on the Island of Borneo. We visited some nice places, saw the County building, drove to a market, the Cultural Center with many exhibits on the Malaysian way of life, both past and present, passed by the Queen Elizabeth Hospital then drove through downtown on the way back to the cruise terminal. We also saw two mosques. I enjoyed my five hour tour even though it was quite hot there, mid to upper 80s F.

Please make sure you go to the bathroom before getting off the ship, unless you are happy to pay 30 Malaysian cents (plus extra if you don’t have any tissues) to use a filthy squat toilet in a shopping mall.

We didn’t do an excursion, but took the shuttle ($16 pp) to a nearby shopping mall (5 mins). We found the prices there were equal or higher to those back home.
