We enjoyed this cruise and loved the ports of call. We did get very sick because people don't cover their mouths when they sneeze or cough. We got a good introduction to the medical centre. It is very good but expensive.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Embarkation was very quick and easy, we were on the ship in no time.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
We ate in the Traditional Dining room most nights, the food was nice but we have had so much better on a previous Princess cruise so was a little disappointed that it wasn't up to that standard. We also had breakfast and lunch in the dining room as well. There was very little variety in the breakfast menu. The service was really good.
We ate once at the pizza bar up on the deck and it was really nice. We ate once at the burger bar up on the deck and it wasn't very nice.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
We did enjoy the trivia sessions and I also enjoyed the Zumba classes. There wasn't much else to do except for the constant promotional stuff. On previous cruises we have done martini mixing classes and wine tasting classes. I enjoy these. I found out afterwards that there had been two wine tastings but it had not been advertised in the daily patter so I knew nothing about them.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
We thought the stage shows were pretty average and nothing to write home about. I have been on P&O ships before and their productions and performers were very entertaining.
There was a violin duo onboard that were very good and well worth watching, they entertained in the main area. We also enjoyed a solo artist in one of the little bars.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The service and staff on this ship were all quite exceptional - we have nothing to complain about in this area. I haven't had a bad experience in this area on any ships I have been on.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
I thought the ship has a good layout and was quite clean and tidy - especially as it is due for a refit in March.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
The only things to complain about were the uncomfortable beds and very small shower cubicle, but the ship is going for a complete refit in March and his will give them new beds matching the ones we had on the Sun last time were went on it, they were amazing beds, so the bed issue will be fixed. I don't think anything can be done about the small shower cubicles. Our cabin had great storage for all our things and our steward kept everything very clean and tidy. Nothing was too much for him to do for us.
Ship tip
Don't buy the coffee card, the cafe coffee on this ship is terrible.
We did a tour of temples, a school, a village, a beach and many other places. It was a great tour.
The country is really dirty with rubbish. A lot of smog too.
We did a 'tour on your own'. It was a 2 1/2 hour journey to and from Bangkok and we had three hours in the city. We walked around a lot and then had a half hour massage. A lot of smog too.
